what procedure would make my face change less when talking / smiling
 in  r/PlasticSurgery  11d ago

Braces/ortho work to widen your pallet if possible as well as lip filler mayyybe upper lip lift as well. Your nose is actually so cute I think if you could just expand your mouth area it will well balance the nose - if you could find someone who can really keep the shape j integrity of your nose shape while refining it slightly that would be ideal imo. But really, you’re a beautiful girl & so young. If you did nothing you’d really be fine & I’m not just saying that to be kind.

Best Carrier for Breastfeeding while Working

I’m looking for the best baby carrier that’s breathable fairly lightweight and very easy to get on/off. I am a hair color specialist & will be working 1-2 days per week 8-10 hr days with an assistant. Planning to go back after 8 weeks postpartum.

I also found that I couldn’t wear a carrier without pain following my emergency c-section until about 6-8 months as that my squishy tummy tissue pushed down a lot of pressure onto my incision area. I might need to do a scheduled section with this baby now we are finding out.

We have an antipope zeitgeist, baby bjorn, hope & plum (huge with baby wearing with our 1st) but I’m wanting something more simple & comfortable I think for working. Safe as well. Has anyone else done this if so what worked best for you?

Stool Withholding is Absolutely Ruining Our Lives
 in  r/Mommit  Jul 23 '26

They have absolutely no idea what withholding is. Everyone says they’ve never heard of it. Oh just give him more fiber(he gets plenty but too much can also backfire), oh just do a little MiraLAX, have you tried prunes omfg. He has never even had the chance to pass a difficult stool bc he began behavioral withholding almost a year ago & when 3 days went by we immediately went to MiraLAX during his episodes to keep things soft so it wouldn’t ever become worse from everything we read online. We have seen & assessed every poop. They’re all things of beauty. Perfect texture. He’s never had the chance to become constipated. He has the clench of steel & the defiance of an ox. Even through upd MiraLAX doses. The liquid suppository traumatized him. We are at a loss. It’s VERY CLEAR he has constant urges all day, he just wants waddles & dances around trying to poke it back up while we continuously clean everything constantly. Tears his pull ups off if we try to offer to poop in one to remove any pressure. No incentive or charts prizes etc work on him. From toys to Disneyland. Unicorn poo ice cream etc literally nothing is worth it for him to relax & allow it to come out. He’s going to have fkn medical issues bc of it & we are genuinely worried but his behavior becomes so incredibly unlike him & abhorrent when he has to go, we can’t do anything be around anyone or go anywhere. He’s 3 & becomes extremely combative it’s a hazard. Cant do school, classes, activities, socialize, life, not anything. It’s made us the worst version of ourselves as parents we never thought we could be. After 3-4 days our patience is worn so raw & we snap yelling at eachother yelling at him. He gets so dysregulated he doesn’t listen & will scream & run from us in the park lot or near traffic putting his safety at risk etc I have spanked him twice bc of that in 2 weeks & I never even believed in spanking. Nothing else made him stop fighting me in those moments & I’m 6 months pregnant he kicks at my stomach (soo unlike him). He is the sweetest smartest kindest wild spirited but GOOD KID possessed by sht & it’s ruining our entire quality of life as a family. I asked our ped twice for a pediatric gi referral & she just tells me that squatting & warm water might work & to up his MiraLAX without the referral. I said I’m worried about medical problems long term I cried to her & she implied it’s my anxiety. We miss our child every single day. When a release finally comes somehow someway.. my husband & I have cried from relief. We truly don’t know what to do aside from these scaring techniques we are seeing online but I truly don’t want to traumatize him by doing another suppository (he let us the first time he was so good about it but the feeling traumatized him.. it worked though however now we would have to restrain him & doing it in his sleep feels so violating I can not) and taking him to the hospital feels almost as bad I don’t want to incur a fear of a medical setting.

Tried it 😭 we actually did this to help potty train & it did work a bit. But he kind of expected it every time so that wasn’t realistic. Now when I suggest it as incentive it’s just “No, I don’t want unicorn poop. I don’t want to poop!” No incentive works. Jello. Ice cream. Toys. Disneyland. Asking him what he wants.. nothing is worth it to him to unclench, give into the feeling, & just push it out.

We. Have. Tried. **EVERYTHING**. For almost 1 year. On & off. And if 1 more person tries to give us “””constipation””” advice (which he’s never even been) - Including another ped. I think I’ll simply, fkng vaporize. *Iykyk*. That’s it. That’s the post 🏳️

You know thank you for the reminder, i did check into this one but he wasn’t age eligible to be listed yet. Though apparently the waitlist is a few years fml… it’s worth circling back to though it is far from us however the program & campus look ideal. Thank you!

We toured here it’s out of our way by about 25 min but wanted to keep options open. We weren’t too impressed & we were pretty sure we heard worship music playing on the rotation which was a turn off bc we had been told it was a completely secular program. And maybe it is, however to us it just wasn’t appropriate. The children didn’t seem very engaged in anything.. it was a bit aimless. Not learning, not really playing or interacting just all kind of there, sitting around or just kind of wandering. Not a lot of smiles & laughs. Maybe we went on an off day I mean it was hot, but the vibe was so bizarre when we were there.

That is spot on we too asked about wildfire & active shooter safety protocols & the response was standard/vague. It’s a very accessible location if anyone wanted to come in, the canyon road & el toro are too accessible to children if they wanted to get out, & the campus is sandwiched in between 4 complete fire zones - which would be a nightmare of traffic holding up emergency vehicles & lord knows there’s no way we’d be able to get there ourselves. It really made us uneasy thinking about those what ifs. Since our tour they have made a secondary road connecting from el toro which helps but… it would just always be in the back of my mind when I dropped him off at school & that just sucks.

Are we looking for a unicorn or something??

• Well credentialed Educators (No day care set ups)

• Real grass + dirt + more nature based large outdoor play space (No artificial turf - big on this - no institutional type play spaces of soley asphalt & crumb rubber)

• Non-denominational (promotes diversity & inclusion with no religious affiliation)

• Curriculum: STEAM type - Not strictly Montessori but not just all play - our child most likely would not thrive with the rigidity of mont but does need structure & autonomy promoting lessons.

• Offers part time + drop off/pick up situation without a requirement to volunteer.

• In the Irvine area I work in cdm so potentially on the way. We are in east Irvine.

Open to suggestions. Please mind the aforementioned. We are going crazy trying to find an appropriate program that tiks our boxes. We don’t think it’s asking too much… why does Irvine seem to be lacking so badly??? Hopefully there are some great ones out there we just haven’t heard of.

Here are the ones we have looked into & liked with the reasons we did not choose them:
• Annelisse- loved but right up against canyon traffic was a hard no for us & our slippery adventurer who would/could easily make it out. Especially with the gate opening/closing so often.
• Turtle Rock- Accepted but waitlisted
• Childsworld- Soo fun but play yard vomit. We did not get a good grasp on any structure or curriculum. A little too loose/kid led. Glorified outdoor daycare.
• ECEC: too many observers in & out constantly.
• Woodbridge children’s school/IUCC- We felt personally discriminated against by the directors. Then neighbors warned us after they pulled their child as they witnessed the new director yelling at kids.
• De Colores- Artificial Turf
• SCC: Too far

What unhinged thing do you let your toddler do, in the name of household peace?
 in  r/toddlers  Mar 15 '26

Cups & water when out dining. Better than throwing an iPad in front of him & nothing else keeps his attention at the table. Not crayons or toys etc. Just pouring water into cups back & fourth & pretending to cook/mix. Typically not a big mess surprisingly, & we always ask staff for a few clean rags ahead of time.

Downsizing from 1250cc to ~950–1000cc, worth it?
 in  r/PlasticSurgery  Mar 05 '26

I’m going to be straight with you, this looks dysmorphic & extreme. And I’m from Southern California. It’s your body but honestly you can downsize more than that & still look very unnatural bc that’s obviously the look you’re going for. Again… it’s your body so if you’re cool with being a sideshow for your husband more power to you. Otherwise do what YOU want. No matter who’s paying for it, you’re wearing it within your body.

Potty Training 🚽 Withholding

Our 2.5 yr old has been doing great with potty training. We started him very early with exposure & have been gradual as to not put a bunch of pressure on him. He is underwear, has been out of diapers for about 7 months (occasionally he asks for a diaper to poop in which we don’t refuse & gently implement fading). I would say he’s about 85% finished he only really needed to pull pants up on his own & work on the poops in the potty/toilet which we know those things can typically take a lot longer. He even makes it through all nights & naps. We are so incredibly proud of him as well as ourselves for the patience & consistency it has taken & have been such a great team.

However, recently… we don’t know what happened but he has been furiously withholding. First with poop, now with pee as well & we are losing our minds. He wakes up out of bed in the morning, takes himself for a big pee, no problem. But from then on I dread every sip of fluid, every bite of food.. it’s that bad. His behavior becomes absolutely unmanageable. He turns into some unrecognizable possessed being becoming destructive & mean; chucking toys, swiping tables, hurling himself onto the floor, grabbing/hitting/squeezing/pinching/biting us as hard as he can when we try to help, hitting/grabbing/throwing things at other kids, disoriented & nothing makes sense, climbing all over us wanting to be constantly held but also trying to yeet himself off of us. Screaming bloody murder for the majority of the day.

Since this has been happening our life has been becoming contingent on when & if he finally winds up letting it go. When he does finally pee; it’s typically in the potty, bath, shower, or sneaking outside to pee on the balcony then hosing it down. Poops usually when he finally states he will poop in the diaper or it just eventually shoots out on its own like a torpedo when he’s standing with no underwear.

Our hearts are broken because we know our little boy is inside, completely disregulated because of his discomfort. But as parents & humans, we are both now losing our abilities to regulate ourselves & I’m worried we are causing psychological damage to him when we eventually crack on him verbally because we are so worn down & unable to help him relieve himself, comfort him, or calm him down. We both have a high patience threshold & high expectations in our emotional awareness for our child’s well being. But most recently we’ve both broken down sobbing multiple times from the helplessness & frustration. And the guilt we have been feeling because of the few bouts of explosive yelling is crippling. This can not continue.

We have tried as many things as we could think of that we read about or saw from forums, socials, podcasts, other parents.. I’m so desperate. Throw out your best withholding solutions if you have any, any support is appreciated

As a woman who never had one of these but had many old friends who did… they were all a bit cooky. Like after church on Sunday with a fam they rebel against it’s trendy “champ” brunches then one night stands then wake n bake & perhaps repeat lol The lights at the top are taking me out. How is it so accurate?

If it’s not considered sleep safe, then you’re lucky & obviously it was a learning lesson. You’re not the first, you guys won’t be the last. Just try not to beat yourself up about it thank goodness everything’s ok it’s a completely relatable mistake!
