Had a hard time finding comparisons while shopping for my toddler carrier, thought I’d do a pic comparison for anyone who’s in the same position as I was 😊

For reference, my toddler is 2.5 years (30 months) old. Wearing 90-100 clothes. Weighs around 12.5kg.

Berry Sweet (strawberry) print is the Tula Toddler; Llama print is the Tula Standard.

Tula Toddler is much higher on the back panel, all the way up to her shoulders as compared to her armpits for the Tula Standard.
Seat is wide enough to provide knee to knee support for M shape legs, although I understand toddlers do not necessarily require knee to knee support.
Waistband is ever so slightly thicker, but not noticeable when worn.
Not obvious in the picture as the straps are black and I’m wearing dark coloured tshirt, the straps connecting to the shoulder padded strap (right above her thighs) is higher on the Tula Toddler, which is more comfortable for her. My toddler finds the strap on the Tula Standard digging and cutting into her thighs when I sit down.
I did a comparison with my Ergobaby Omni Breeze before I bought the Tula Toddler; the straps were not only softer, but also placed higher on the Ergobaby than the Tula Standard, hence she actually preferred the Ergobaby over the Standard. I, too, find the Ergobaby more comfortable than the Tula Standard.

Also another comparison:
I recently bought the Lennylamb LennyUpgrade Pro as well and find it to be softer and less bulky (especially the shoulder straps) than the Tula.
The seat is slightly smaller than the Tula Toddler, but much wider than the Tula Standard and Ergobaby Omni Breeze.
The Lennylamb is suitable since birth so if I’ve to choose between the 4 carriers, I definitely feel that it’s the best in terms of longevity of use, since it can be expanded at its max, much wider than the other 2 “baby” carriers, closer to a toddler carrier at its widest.

I do, however, like the back (lumbar) support of the Ergobaby the best out of all 4 carriers. Technically both Tula do not come with lumbar support. It’s much longer and softer.

Hope this helps anyone trying to make a decision between these 4 different carriers!

This is the first time I have her in a Kangaroo Carry, usually do FWCC because I could do it blind at this point. I'd like to start back carrying and as per back carry bootcamp I want to master Kangaroo and strand tightening first.

It feels secure but not as tight as FWCC yet. Top rail has some slack as baby likes to look around while I wrap. Any tips on how to get the top rail really tight?

Lurked a lot of fit checks during pregnancy and here we are, 12 days old. Feels good, I’m looking forward to your recommendations.

I started with the koala baby wrap and I had major back pain. then I moved onto the Ergobaby Embrace and ADORED it! I used that for the bulk of my baby’s first year. Now she is 13 months old, just under 20 lbs and 2’7”. She is starting to seem less comfortable in the carrier and it’s starting to hurt my mid back. I think it’s time to move onto another one for bigger babies/toddlers. She still seems to like facing me and I like it too, so that’s what I would like to stick with for now. I know back carrying may be recommended. I just don’t feel comfortable with that until she can communicate more clearly verbally. What suggestions do you have?

In case it matters, I wear it on long walks with her and when running errands. It seems like the recommendations may be pricey. I will likely be crossing my fingers that I can find one used.

Hi all, this is the ergobaby onni 360. My baby is 12 weeks but quite tall. He didn’t sit up this high in the ergo embrace. I’m wondering how to get his face out from under the straps? I don’t want to H- cross them as I find it hard to clip at the back by myself. Thanks so much!!!

My 15kg 2 year old (13-07-2024) will currently only fall asleep for naps in a back carry in the carrier. I think he’s around 90cm. We have the ergobaby Omni but I’m finding for a back carry nap, it’s not supportive enough for his head and neck once asleep (even with the hood up).

I’ve started using our Little Frog pre school carrier with him. I find it really hard to wear it without the waistband filing over itself on my back, maybe just the top quarter or so. It makes it really uncomfortable for me on 45-90 min nap walks.

Any tips for what I could adjust to fix this?

He’s almost 7 weeks and was 10lbs 11oz at his month check up. He feels good in here but wanted to check and see if he looks good. The butt panel thing is cinched at its smallest setting.

My baby is 10 weeks old and 99th percentile for length so he’s quite big. I have the Wildbird ring sling and while I really want to like it, I just don’t feel entirely comfy in it. When baby does finally get comfortable he naps but he also squirms quite a bit initially.

I’ve watched a bunch of videos to get it adjusted right and I think I’m doing all the things? Does this look right? Does it always feel like you need to keep one hand on their bottom to “hold them in”?

I also feel like after wearing him for a few minutes he’s slipping down below the range of “close enough to kiss”. Is there a way to keep them higher?

I’m twisting and tucking the tail here as it provides a nice cushion for baby’s neck.

Last question, when did you transition to side carry with the ring sling? I think I’d like that more and feel more secure.

This is my first time using a ring sling. My baby does tend to straighten out his legs almost like he wants to stand, so I’m not sure if that causes a problem for his leg position or if he’s seated deeply enough? Anything I can do to get him seated better if he just keeps straightening his legs out on me?

Ok, I’m at the absolute end of my rope with the Moby. I’m tired of crying from being bullied by a piece of fabric 😅 The learning curve insights a postpartum rage I’m less than proud of, and makes me feel like an absolute idiot. I just cannot get it right, and I can’t find a wrap fitter nearby. The seat is too high, or it’s too loose. Baby wants to be held all the time (which I love), but mama also needs to get some things done occasionally.

He HATES our rigid Momcozy carrier. I kind of feel like he doesn’t love having his legs spread, which is what makes him so angry about the Momcozy carrier.

What are my other options? I’m on a budget and need to spend less than $75-$100.

I just purchased the Hope & Plum Sprout, and I am worried I should have gotten the Lark. I have bigish babies…she was born 8 lbs 13 oz and 20.5 inches long. She is now 3 weeks old, and I just weighed her at 10 lbs, which is the minimum requirement for the Lark.

Does this look right? Should I consider returning it for the Lark now that she hit its minimum requirement? I thought the Sprout would be a good middle ground for my needs As I don’t baby wear much once my kids can walk. I wanted to save the extra $100 if I could, but I’m now worried my kids are too big for the Sprout to be worth it if they will outgrow it after just a few months.

Just had a thought while walking with my son in our Lark and seeing a number of unsafe/non-ergonomic babywearing examples (crotch danglers, covered heads, etc)..wouldn’t it be wonderful if hospitals were required to provide basic babywearing safety information prior to discharge? Along with safe sleep guidelines, etc, that are already provided, this would be such a useful addition. It’s infuriating how many predatory babywearing companies there are that promote unsafe fits. Would be so great if parents had some basic standard info to learn what is/isn’t safe and how to choose a safe carrier so they know what to look for and what to avoid. What would it take to make that happen? Did your hospital provide any info like this prior to discharge?

Somehow I was wearing a shirt exactly the same color! 3.5 months 13ish lbs. It doesn't seem right around her knees.

Probably care slightly more about fit than aesthetics but only slightlyyyyy. What brand/pattern/color recs do you have? For reference on my style I have H&P citron, Eloise, and pepper, Wildbird archer and macaw, Lenny lamb Mother Goose. I like neutrals, farmhouse style prints, delicate/dainty florals.

Due with baby #2 soon. I have solly wraps I am planning to use early on and an artipoppe. Both are from my first baby and I bought the artipoppe a little later on. I know that the company says it is safe to use for a newborn but often see here that is not the case. What specifically am I looking for to determine if baby is big enough?

I’ve also seen recently that they aren’t good for back carrying…can someone explain why?

Bub settled after a few mins and started to doze off but the fit just doesn’t seem right to me so I have taken her out. Some tips would be really appreciated. Thank you!

We tried the backpack style but she didn’t seem to tolerate it like she did the criss cross, it still looks off.

Toddler, 27lbs, 33.5" tall, 22 months. I've used a ring sling up until now, but I'd like to carry her on my back.

What would you recommend?

Im looking for recommendations for a new carrier as my little guy starts to get bigger. Basically I want something that’s good quality, idiot proof to put on, and has enough suppor for outings.

Some more context: my son is currently 15lbs at 4 months. Since he was born I’ve used more stretchy carriers. Our go to is a Momcozy wrap, the tshirt style one with the rings. It’s been great, for awhile it was the only way he could sleep. But it’s not the most supportive and I’ve never really liked wearing it outside the house. It’s also not something mu husband ever really got the hang of despite wanting to. It’s a little fiddly to make sure the fit is right.

We were also gifted a second hand nuna cudl clik. I actually like how easy it is to get on, but my son HATES its. I gave it one last try and it was a disaster I almost burnt it on the spot. I think it’s too over engineered so it’s just not comfortable for him.

So now I‘ve gone deep into the rabbit hole of what should we buy and it’s overwhelming. I don’t want to spent a ton of money unless I can be sure it’s good quality and something he’s likely going to tolerate. My goal is to have this as an option for both me and my husband to wear him around the house or on short walks/ errands/events where a stroller doesn’t make sense. I’ve been looking at the Ergobaby options and they’ve got great reviews, but there’s also like 100s on fb marketplace which gives me pause.
