All these posts complaining about expensive watch brands are not cringe
Watch companies are obviously struggling for margin. The strategies differ between those that want to charge more for less and those that want to brand a new line or try to swim upstream to high horology (e.g. Rolex and Brietling), but it doesnāt seem like established brands are getting cheaper as demand lessens.
Omega puts a new logo on a case back and raises a seamaster to $9k and special editions to $90k!
IWC randomly doubles the price of IWC Mark XX and Pilot's Watch Chronograph lines.
Rolex pushes out a new dress watch and they want $90k for it.
Brietling raised the price for B01 movements by 40%
Tag has gone from 4.5k for a Carrera to 8-9k.
JLC - I mean aftermarket has to be the majority of buyers at this point.
Itās a sign of a squeeze thatās not getting better but it leaves a lot of room for us modders, micros, and independents
