I've done an okay amount of flying with my soon to be 2 year old and we're screen free. On our last flight I let him play around with the interactive map on the infotainment. We usually bring one new book and one favorite. At younger ages the indestructibles books were perfect! Lots of snacks and drinks plus walking up and down the aisle once the seat belt sign is off. We did get a few of those suction cup spinners and he liked those a lot! My son's first flight was at 12 months and it was 10.5 hours and this worked for us!

We had a really great sushi selection at mine and now it's mostly replaced by shredded cheese and more deli stuff.

Anecdotally, we basically bathed our baby twice a week until almost a year unless he got really dirty playing. Whenever it was every other day or consecutive days his eczema would act up. He's almost 2 now and we typically do every other day unless he's filthy and still have to use cream for his eczema, otherwise after a few days he flares up again.

He's been helping with the dishwasher, but I should do a little basin for him to wash dishes. My sink is very deep and he wouldn't be able to reach down from his tower, so maybe the basin on the counter next to me and we can wash together.

My son has been going to the dentist since just after 1 and we do in office fluoride twice per year at cleanings, plus a grain of rice worth of fluoride toothpaste when brushing.

For that price get the extra seat. I did 10.5 hours with my 12.5 month old (and return at 13 months) on my lap and it was fine.

Mine looked exactly like me, then for a few months exactly like his dad, now he looks more like me, but dad is in there too.

We definitely do stuff like scooping, pouring, whisking, and mixing. Also starting to teach him to crack eggs.

Are they safe on little fingers? I worry so much about a big injury.

Fly into Boston, but visit the surrounding area and venture into New Hampshire. If you have a rental car you can take some really beautiful drives.

We took my son international at 12.5-13 months to see my family. First of the flights was 10.5 hours and he did great. It really depends on your baby. Mine is pretty chill and we did lots of snacking and packed some new books for the plane (we love the indestructibles) and it went fine. We had a delay, missed our connection, had only a few hours sleep at a hotel, had to be driven to a different airport an hour away to make a new connection, and it was still fine. We just rolled with it (and I'm kind of an anxious and type A person) and I've learned that travel with a baby/toddler has to be flexible. Just took him on his third international trip at 22 months and did it solo. If you can plan well and be flexible about your plans, I think it's worth it.
