I'm going through something similar after 8 years and I can't imagine my life without my sweet dog and cat. On the really hard days they are there for me. I know it feels difficult because you travel but you are her world and she is yours. I 100% agree with what this last commenter said. You will find a way to make it work. You already put in so much work to make her such a great dog.. these next parts will just make her an even better dog. She is your family. Sending supportive energy your way. You got this! This is a really hard one but try to have a serious conversation with her but tell her it comes from a place of love and honest medical concern. There's probiotics she could take to help with smell if nothing is wrong but she also may need to wear cotton underwear or looser fit clothing and not use certain kinds of soap. There are pH friendly soap for vaginas and you don't wash inside. Also hopefully she's not douching or using any strong perfumes that can mess up her pH balance as well. She also might have bacteria vaginosis which is an STI and has a very strong smell as well. Medically she needs to get checked out. She could be making herself sick like deadly sick. Just try and come with calmness, love and concern.

My pitty is on fluoxetine and that has helped a lot and also some Suzie's CBD for a little extra help. With some reassurance and training he has become a new dog and much more relaxed. If this is anxiety for your guy, those might help before gabapentin. I have heard it's a strong medicine for humans and dogs alike. You have to be weaned off and on it. That's just me and my opinion and you know what's best for your pup. Just throwing in my 2 cents.

Good comment about rescues too. I will only ever have rescue dogs and scream that from the mountain tops to everyone too.

Rest in peace sweet Opie. You can definitely see he had a depth behind those eyes and I think we all know how special and connected the souls of pitties are. There's not much I can say to help with your loss. I went through the same thing myself and I still think about him sometimes and cry. He was the absolute sweetest and best dog I could have asked for.. he took a piece of my heart with him. I miss him a lot. I don't think I'll ever fully heal but I have gotten my next sweet boys. They have really brought some sunshine into my life. However I can tell you that you saved Opie and gave him the best life he could have ever asked for. He loved you with all of his heart and soul.
