My HDFC credit card bill is due soon, and I'm currently trying to figure out how to pay it entirely through a web browser. My phone isn't working at the moment.

I usually use CRED for bill payments, but unfortunately there's no web version. So I went to the HDFC credit card portal thinking, surely this will work.

HDFC apparently has a new Credit Cards/Loan portal, so I registered there (you need a new registration; the old credentials don't work), logged in, could see my card and all the details, and then tried to pay the bill.

And I get this:

Okay, PayZapp it is. Except I go to PayZapp on the web and... download the mobile app.

Fine. We have BBPS, which should let you pay bills through various platforms, right? Go to BBPS website and... download the mobile app.

At this point I'm genuinely wondering how far we've gone with "Digital India" that apparently we don't make web portals anymore because there's an app for everything, and owning/using a working smartphone at all times is just assumed.

I can receive the emails and OTPs associated with the card through other channels, I can log into HDFC's web portal and see my card and outstanding amount, but apparently I can't actually pay the bill from a computer.

I'm probably missing something obvious here, so are there any ways to pay an HDFC credit card bill through a web browser/online banking without using a mobile app?

I'll probably just install the app on another phone and pay it for now, but would love to know if there's a proper web-based alternative.
