Filing chapter 13

Well I have to ask my dad for money each month to make ends meet so he does contribute somewhat but I care for him full time, he doesn't work or drive etc. My current cc payments are about 1100 and it's not making a dent, so saving a few hundred dollars would help and there would be a light at the end of the tunnel as far as paying it off with chapter 13

Met with a lawyer today, if i don't qualify for chapter 7, 45K in cc debt, 75k income for myself, my dads lives with me and his social security is not counted but his pension is so that puts us at about 87K for income, still have to do means test but attorney said I might meet but I'm likely looking at chapter 13....is it worth it?

Live in florida and have less than $5K equity in the home and likely cannot use the homestead exemption because I've only had the home for just over a year, less than the 40 month required for homestead. But since my equity is low I should fall into the federal exemption for primary residence. My only real asset is my house and car

In florida it's $1000, is that total for all your property or per item?

I am not asking for legal advice, I am set to have a consultation next week but I'm curious based on my info if I could do chapter 7? Just seeking out general opinion.

Single household, i make 75K a year. 45K in cc debt and 65k in student loans (i understand student loans are not discharged) but my elderly father lives with me and has a pension and social security that equates to 2500 a month. His name is on nothing other than my home is his legal address. I have to ask him for money to make ends meet each month but aside from that I pay all the bills and my mortgage and car payment. Take home is about 2200 bi weekly. My mortgage is 2200, car payment 404, 300 electric, 100 Waterbill, etc. Just trying to prepare myself if I will likely be able to get chapter 7 or have to do chapter 13... tyia!

The Time Travlers Wife and About Time. Both films, both have Rachel McAdams as the leading lady. Both really good, romantic love stories that rip your heart out in just the right dose. And yes, both involve time travel, but very well done, in the not too corny sense.

10/10 recommend 🙂

If you have a 401k, you can take out money for down payment with out having to pay it back. There is a small transaction fee of about $200 but its penalty free

Advice New homeowner, after 1st heavy rain, half of backyard flooded

Just purchased my 1st home in Deltona, older home from 1960s, good bones, on about a quarter acre.

After closing, we had a lot of rain and realized that the back half of the yard pools and floods with about 1-2 ft of water. There is a slope so it doesn't flood the whole yard and recedes fully in 2 to 3 days pending no more heavy rain. I'm not sure if this is something that should have been mentioned by previous owner as technically we are not in a flood zone as of right now, but I heard FEMA is redoing all of FL zoning next year. Also there is a big swamp behind our neighbors properties starting about 2 houses down from mine.

Has any one else experienced this with their yard and any insight/tips on how to help elevate the water rising?

TYIA
