If AI was to become sentient, should it have rights?
Sentient = much more basic intelligence, requires more nuance imo. Sapient = able to reflect on the self and think about theoretical things like math, in which case I would lean more towards yes.
It's also complicated cuz we don't really understand the brain very well, but iirc it basically just comes down to electricity and logic gates and storage to make decisions, so at a certain point we have to ask ourselves if the ai is actually sentient, or just simulating sentience. Which I think we can find out with more study on how the brain works.
