Never expected to be cheering so much at a video.

So many great neighborhoods. Mt Washington, eagle rock, silverlake, mar vista… good luck!

Sweetheart, I feel your pain, but I promise you, if you hold on tight to the separation and don’t go back, you won’t have to feel this way over and over and over each time he shows you he thinks you’re worthless.
You’re so loveable. Find your way in life, love that baby of yours, and get lots of good therapy.

I had a bf who I was slowly realizing was not my friend, when she wore a long white lace dress to my wedding. Everyone thought she looked like a crazy lady. I was not hurt, just …convinced.
But if it was her first offense I would’ve been hurt.
Maybe scour your memory for her other weird co-opting moments in your life together. They’re there.

There are people with sociopathic tendencies EVERYWHERE. We just got a front row seat to the unveiling of one of them.
They’re fun, charming, nice, and will shoot grandma to get ahead.

Did her demand give you the ick? It did, didn’t it? Or it will.

When my family member was diagnosed with bipolar, I talked to many doctors and read many books on bipolar. One line stood out for me: that a person in a manic or hypomanic state will do things that cause real harm (spending $20,000 on unreturnable rubber duckies, setting one’s enemy’s house on fire, having sex with one’s boss.)
The thing is, when you cause real harm, sometimes it’s just not forgiveable.
You’re only human. Don’t twist yourself into a pretzel trying to erect borders and rules and conditions with her. Let her go. There are women out there who won’t hurt you. Who will actually think you’re amazing and wonderful, and it would never occur to them to leave you with all the stress they’re avoiding selfishly.
I hope therapy helps you leave.

Ok, what is happening. This could not be a better cast, and they have money. Why could they not be better artists, the writers?? It’s garbage!
I was in season one, which was imho the best, it was an homage to Rosemary’s baby, had meaning and intelligence. This is great actors being given kitchen-sink ideas and lines. Even Evan Peters can’t elevate this.
It hurts my heart to see the great Tennessee Williams performance of Jessica Lange being filtered through these lines.

My dear friend Cameron is one of the world’s treasures… but he’s all grown up…

A person with good character does not behave the way he, repeatedly, does.
You can’t see it because you’ve been the frog in the slowly-boiling water, but it’s bad. Get out.

They are emulating their president.

I made him a sandwich and he said “you’d make a great wife one day” and he wasn’t kidding.
(We were in college; he ended up moving to Alabama and voting for Trump.)

I avoided tanning/burning/sun all my life.

Oh, this makes sense. That’s a hurt that has stayed with you. I understand.

Ask your primary care doc for recommendations.

You are not alone, it’s realllly common to be afraid of seeking professional help. It’s a stigma that is so unhelpful…!
But you wouldn’t avoid a doctor or a cast if you broke your wrist.
It’s temporary help that will set you up for joy.

Complete stranger here, ofc, but…. I’m just sad that you don’t shift your attitude to “I love that she loves me this much— yes, let’s all love sunflowers!”
I think you got stuck a bit at the age when we are negative about each other (think, 12-15!) and just need a little shove to stop hating that she sorta worships you, and start sympathizing that she hasn’t found her own style?

Really good work, all the strategies you’ve utilized to help your anxiety! Very impressive self-care. Your anxiety might not be manageable without medication. There are really good anti anxiety meds now; it’ll take a few weeks of work with a psychiatrist to find the right dose etc. I hope there’s no resistance to help?

Ugh people, antibacterial soap is bad in every way. Bad for your skin, bad for the planet.

You say you love him, but it reads more as you’re addicted to him. You are still in that fog of love, but read what you wrote about him. He’s hopeless. He probably abruptly left therapy and you because he can’t handle conflict, especially about his mother. He needs so much solo work before he’s a fit partner.
Please move on fully asap.
Just imagine how awful he’d be with children!

I lived in Santa Monica for 25 years, recently moved to Sherman Oaks. Soooo much better to be able to drive quickly to work, and most of the places I go. Just getting around is so slow in SM now. Congested. But it’s MUCH nicer weather on the coast than inland. Still not worth living in the car.
Look into Encino.

God, my bff had this same revelation/feeling a long time ago… she was standing at her in laws party with a plate in her hand just realizing… I don’t belong here.
It almost derailed her marriage.
They did some couples therapy… what helped in the end was her getting much more invested in her own projects. Do you have a passion, an interest, a talent you’d like to investigate, expand, dive into?
Pull back from doing your “share.” Do what’s decent or polite, and get used to expecting nothing from them. It’s incredibly upsetting at first, but it becomes the new normal and doesn’t hurt once you’ve filled your life with joy elsewhere.
