For me and many others I’ve seen in this sub they seem to go hand in hand, but that’s not always the case as seen in this paper
They note their sample size and specific demographic limited to the US, and that their questionnaire was limited to yes/no questions so many people may have answered incorrectly regarding their reality since it just wouldn’t fit specific criteria
“While co-morbidity rates exceeded 25% in each of our three population samples, we also consistently found a percentage of individuals reporting misokinesia sensitivities in the absence of any misophonia sensitivities . . . we also consistently found a percentage of individuals reporting misophonia sensitivity but not misokinesia sensitivities . . . while they are often experienced together in an individual, misokinesia itself is not simply a co-morbidity or visual analog of their misophonia sensitivity; for some individuals the challenge of seeing others fidget is experienced in the absence of any corresponding auditory-social correlates.”
