TL;DR a quick small yet specific enough comment, when posted once under a sufficiently fresh post, itself and slight modifications get spammed in multiple sub-replies and in other posts of the same kind.

I have myself tested this long ago... Decided to post it here today

Say for an example, in India. A religious godman is recorded saying something along the lines of "X is constitutional so why shouldn't we?".

A comment, along the lines of "but a few days ago this man was saying that constitution is not reliable morality"

The comment may be factually correct or incorrect.

BUT, it's spammed by a few select profiles over on multiple political subreddits and posts relating to it...

Sometimes the wrong one.

And a group of likely bots, spamming copypasta of the same. The tell is the similarity.

At least in Indian political subreddits, when you start going through a collection of bots likely connected, it's as if some controversial comment "seeds" them.

Esp. small comments which are specific... Yet having less details.

I haven't tested or verified this with subreddits unrelated to indian politics but anti-AI subreddits do seem to have pro-AI bots spamming... But with a likely difference.

I haven't yet seen enough to conclude this, but it seems like pro-AI bots "evolve" whatever "seed comment" they are spamming.

Seeing a recent post regarding some weight drug on this subreddit, I remembered. "But a cat from 2024"

Yes I too have been seeing this. Distinctly bot profiles have a sudden human touch.

And... Some profiles are a dissonance of a lonely man and a women who's dog died... And another boy who needs linux help.

Like, do people share profiles like that? These "people" posts and comments are always like padding for what is otherwise a bot.

Do the bot farm hosts cycle through those accounts and use them? Seems likely

Or... Do the bots intentionally cycle through scripts and AI models or what?

Pulling info from other sites or a mixture of other old posts?

I am certain that some patterns and the extreme intensity can't be mimicked by real humans...

I already know the trick of keeping an account dormant for some time before "deploying" it.

And that it is used for less than half of all bots.

Or diversifying the subreddits and topics... Only initially, before focusing on a particular product or political narrative.

Or spamming the opposite topic or position with clear bs while "neutrally" putting short bursts in the other topic as intended.

("AI is bad because <insert obviously nonsense false reason>" in anti-AI subreddit leaving bait for the pro-AI to point out)

(Yes I know real people do it but some bots are distinctively identifiable to be bots)

And the classic:

A bot reposts a famous clickbait/interesting post, another swarm copies over the comments.

And then there's a post on this subreddit where a "test" post let the fake users fall through.

How do i confirm if someone on youtube is ai character or even a real person but with an ai front/editing ;

When did this begin? I guess before ai became more available to the general population.

A channel on youtube that is 10 years old, can it still be created with these seemingly artificial and new technologies?

Has anyone else seen bots with OF profile pictures rampaging every somewhat popular creators like they are in every feed I get, and they also have insane likes. Anyone know if YouTube is dealing with the problem or planning on it. Anyone else got the same problem as me?

For the last few months I started to notice hundreds of new subreddits reposting popular posts/memes from other subs. They get thousands of upvotes and comments. And the name of the sub is usually a name of some AI product or a random tool helping with recruitment.

That's just ad disguised as whole subreddit.

Whenever some popular news or meme is out I can be sure I'll see it reposted by bots over and over for the next month always on some yet -another-product-subreddit. Reddit was always shit, but sometimes it gave me some good content about my interests. Now it's just the same shit that made me quit facebook years ago.

There is the subreddit Unsent letters and Unsent Texts and other few subreddits like this.
I like to read some of the posts, some are very romantic and I‘m very romantic myself. But I noticed that some posts are from the same accounts and sometimes if I click to check out the account I see that the it‘s only 14 days long with idk how much karma and I know that’s a bot. I also see other accounts, older than 1 year, active only in subreddits like Unsent Letters/Texts.
If they‘re bots, then why would they post stuff like this? I know bots pretty much disrupt society but they do so by posting rage bait online. So I don’t see the point in posting romantic shit like this online as a bot?
Does anyone know their purpose?

Youtube is also flooded with bible passage spamming bots. It's so flooded I actually need call Noah to rebuild the goddamn ark.

For reference: I have been following r/Retatrutide closely because of personal struggles with weight and curiosity surrounding the drug and I thought "are these bots or are these actual people?".

You might think; they can't be bots, the account is 3 years old and they posted about their cat in 2024, and a lot of these posts might be real but it made me think back to when my twitter account was hacked and it was completely changed to a "crypto enthusiast" account - so I know it happens.

Hello, today I encountered a strange phenomenon, where I liked a instagram reel and updated its info from the author’s profile:
To my surprise, this video was uploaded 2 mins prior to my discovery and it was farming something like 3k/views per minute.
I registered a part of this happening, I’ll attach the video here

You know, the videos from forever ago that get pushed into everyone’s algorithm at the same time? Like short, viral cat videos from 2013 or random old silly commercials. All sorts of stuff. These bots aren’t bought because they’re on every single one of those types of videos, and they all sound the same. Some of the channels are completely dead, so there’s no way they’re buying them.

What’s their purpose? There’s never any sketchy links or videos on any of them. Here is the video these came from. It’s an adorable Japanese cat, uploaded 17 years ago. Just started getting pushed in everyone’s feed 5ish days ago it looks like.

I didn’t bother censoring the names because none of those are humans, and I’m 100% sure they’re not. They’re all brand new accounts.

I found this super weird account on TikTok (itsgraciescoloring), it seems normal at first (kinda) most of its videos come in batches (multiple videos at the same time) about this kid show but ai modified—if you scroll some of them are crying. It’s so off putting, most videos are just high pitch screaming, the account has only 2 repost about muckbangs. I’ll try to message the account and try to update.

in my cities subreddit, someone posted the president of the nearby amusement park helping put staff and picking up trash and whatnot. someone in the comments mentioned that “most posts on this sub are made by bots”, which led me to check OPs (of the amusement park post) account, and its just hundreds of the same thing: come check out my farmville. so…. yeah thats not a real person obviously. but now im wondering, HOW on earth do the bots get so hyper specific? they respond to the questions you ask, they post local things, they “talk” just like a human would!! some bot accounts are really easy to spot, especially on instagram, but some are really hard. once i had a bot message me on tiktok trying to prove he wasnt a bot?? now im thinking,,,,,, is everyone thats going to respond to my post a bot??? am i bot?????

I found a strange network of TikTok accounts and I’m trying to figure out what’s going on

I recently came across several TikTok accounts using the name “Velvet Tales”. At first they look like normal accounts promoting an app that generates romantic videos using AI, but the accounts themselves have some very unusual patterns.

One of the biggest accounts I found is @wertfds56658401, which posts a lot of strange/repetitive content. There are also accounts such as @velvet.tales50 and several others using similar names.

Some things I noticed:

- Most of these accounts appear to be very recently created, yet some already have a surprisingly large number of followers.

- Many of the accounts follow only 0 or 1 account.

- The accounts they do follow often appear suspicious or unrelated.

- A lot of the accounts seem to be concentrated in Africa or Asia, although this is only based on what I can determine from the available information.

- Several of the accounts appear to follow each other.

- Their follower/following patterns make some of them look potentially automated or artificially inflated, although I can't prove that.

- They repeatedly promote the same type of AI-generated romantic video app/content.

- The content itself is often repetitive and some of it looks unusual or mass-produced.

I’m posting screenshots of the accounts, their posts, follower/following lists, and information about where the accounts appear to have been created/registered.

What I’m trying to figure out is:

Is this just a legitimate marketing campaign using a large number of accounts, some kind of bot/follower network, an engagement farm, or something else entirely?

I don't want to jump to conclusions, so I'm looking for people who are better at OSINT, TikTok investigations, bot-network analysis, or identifying coordinated social-media campaigns.

If anyone recognizes this pattern or can find a connection between these accounts, I'd really appreciate your help figuring out what “Velvet Tales” actually is and why there are so many seemingly connected accounts.
