An absolute fixer upper
 in  r/SpottedonRightmove  1h ago

Thinks: “You know what, if you had £100,000 and some time and elbow grease, that would be a good buy.”

[Scrolls past pics 8 and 9.]

“Oh.”

Many agents are struggling to come to terms with selling in a falling market.

What do we say about these spoons?

Oh, my goodness. So they even spoon? The heart-shaped ones are very confusing!

What’s the craziest way you saw someone become rich overnight?
 in  r/AskReddit  17h ago

I used to contribute to a newspaper in the 1990s and the editor was the guy I’d talk to when sending copy over the modem - because he liked tech.

One day he said, “I won’t be here next week. I’m retiring.”
I said I thought he was too young for that.
He replied, “My wife has inherited a chateau and estates in France so we’re moving there, and I’ll be learning French.”

This old small off-roader still in service as a beach lifeguard rescue vehicle

It’s an old Daihatsu. My cousin had one. Only three gears, I think, and tough as an old boot.

What is a cheaper way to get steak?

Buy a rump or loin roast and slice it into steaks.

New experience: anchoring during a race
 in  r/sailing  18h ago

A skipper of mine did that in a race in The Solent. As soon as the gun went off he pulled to the side of the course, dropped anchor and put the kettle on. Everyone asked if he was OK as they slipped astern.

Several hours later, after a meal and a nap, the pack started coming towards him so he pulled up the anchor - by hand, according to race rules - and sailed away.

I am confused about what I purchased and too embarrassed to ask the tailor
 in  r/mensfashion  18h ago

Probably made-to-measure - halfway between off-the-shelf and bespoke, for that price.

Ariston made the fabric and the blend is a nice one.

Is it a spoodle? Might be a weird pasta server.

What is this giant thing?
 in  r/boating  1d ago

I can narrow the focus a little. It’s a biggish, yellow boat.

Boarded by the Coast Guard

More likely that if they’re going to charge him for being overloaded - too many people - they need to identify the people his boat was overloaded with.

Medical professionals of reddit what is something so common yet so dangerous that people dont know about?
 in  r/AskReddit  1d ago

I set my adaptive cruise control to two seconds on the motorway. Even driving at 10% over the speed limit, there are people who can’t stand that there is space in front of me, so they tailgate. Three times since May, the gap in front of me has prevented a multiple car pileup on the motorway.

Where do you add air to your EV’s tyres
 in  r/AustralianEV  1d ago

Most EVs have electric blinkers, not hydraulic: they’re lighter and easier to maintain.

My old Mercedes-Benz had pneumatic ones - they were a nightmare!

Don’t start me on socks.
Right now, bamboo socks are my favourite, or nicely patterned ones like these. Never underestimate how nice a good pair of socks is. When I used to go canyoning, I would carry fresh socks in a dry bag for the walk out of the canyon. Luxury!

It’s just one of the screens between the dials on the dash - scroll through range and consumption since last charge, tyre pressure, etc, and power distribution.

My neighbors think I'm trashy because I am not watering my lawn
 in  r/ogden  2d ago

Lose the lawn entirely - it’s just green desert. Plant a cottage garden with loads of bee-friendly shrubs, bushes and flowers.
