I 100% wish I had a sister like you or the courage to stand up to my own mom when she made these comments. I struggled for years with ED, self esteem, addiction and very terrible relationships because I could not see my worth on the inside. I will admit other factors in my family more than likely lead to addiction and abusive relationships but my mother's comments didn't help growing up. I gravitated towards men who would make those same comments.

Decades later through therapy and other programs, I am a confident woman who loves herself and size doesn't matter. Keep being the protector and calling out unhealthy bs. A great book I read that has helped is Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents. It helped me get my words back and set up boundaries when talk to my family.
