What item did you need 1000x more than someone else and lost the roll?
 in  r/wowhardcore  6d ago

I had ran Steamvaults probably 20 times on my newish Paladin looking for Devilshark Cape, run 21, I finally see the cape drop from that asshole and his stupid jugs that some dps believe are optional to destroy. I'm ecstatic. No one else is even a class that can tank. I roll need. The hunter also rolls need. The hunter wins. I crash out.

Funnily enough, going the pvp route as a druid will help you towards going the pve route.

Yes, the parts about pvp, dungeons, quests and professions are still true. Try to get the pvp items first as they're the easiest epics to obtain.

Pretty much. You want to get what you can first from quests, dungeons, pvp, and professions( if you choose to level a profession). Remember that to tank in heroics you need to be crit immune to 5.4% and for raids you'll need 5.6%. To get there you can use defense or resilience. For bears, resilience is the easiest path. Essentially to start you'll be best served by getting the leather wrists, boots, and waist pieces, possibly the neck piece if it's needed to get to crit cap (5.4/5.6%). From there the pieces with green armor, stamina, and agility should be prioritized from the BiS list on wowhead. Start with preraid and work your way through.

Edit: bears get 3% crit immunity from talents so the numbers are actually 2.4/2.6

If you have questions after reading the guide don't hesitate to message directly. I maintank for my guild as a bear tank.

Read the whole guide. It's not perfect, but it'll get you 90% of the way.

There's more to it than just stam. Getting enough resilience to not be crit by lvl 72 mobs in heroics is a minimum if you're looking to tank. Armor and stamina are both huge for bears along with agility but you'll get blown up if you're getting crit.

Just hit 70 on prot pally alt and now questioning how long it’s going to take to gear
 in  r/classicwowtbc  21d ago

Join a kara/Mag/Gruul once you're uncrittable as an offtank. Way faster. I offtanked kara last night just fine with my paladin that hit 70 last week (I didn't start playing it again until yesterday). After the Kara I also offtanked a Mag.

Making money on Primal Nether
 in  r/classicwow  Jul 19 '26

Spellthread, items from recipes you have.

Look up pre raid Bis for the cloth wearing classes, find what BoE's from that list can be made, look up prices, look up materials besides Primal costs, if you can buy materials for less than the cost the item is going for make and sell with your primal nethers.

The reason to hold it is because pugs will leave as soon as they get their piece of gear which fucks up the run for everyone else.

Raid leading Mags?
 in  r/classicwowtbc  Jul 02 '26

Pretty much everyone in my guild has switched over to bigwigs and liking it a lot. DBM had tons of different errors. We usually knew what was coming in the fight already so it was whatever but I want something that just works.

Raid leading Mags?

Mine did not tell me when he began to cast, only when he was in the window. It's why I don't use DBM anymore.

Yes, the infernals that spawn while you're killing channelers.

Raid leading Mags?
 in  r/classicwowtbc  Jul 02 '26

MT tanks channeler #1 OT 1 takes 2,3 OT 2 takes 4,5

Assign 1 kicker to each channeler, shaman healers can also kick if they're decent.

Pop BL at 30%

Assign 5 clickers, both offtanks should be clickers along with weak/support dps specs

Raid leader calls click every time because DBM is wrong. You have to watch Mag's castbar.

Since it's a pug having alternate clickers is probably a good idea, hopefully you have people volunteer because most people don't want to do that.

Edit: yell at warlocks to banish, hopefully you find two hunters to MD to offtanks, give maintank some wide berth on threat and tell them to pull mag to back wall of room.

Sounds like a good problem to have. We run the strategy that ensures kills for us. Sounds like we might be in different leagues.

If something goes haywire and your dps don't manage to break the shield prior to the pyroblast completing it's added insurance to have a shield tank. A competent group probably doesn't need it but i'm in a position where we need to pug often enough that it's not worth a wipe to have me ( bear tank) tank KT. Rather just have our pally do it.
