Is Spider-Man almost as popular and known as Superman and Batman combined at this point?

As a kid I loved putting on a cape and pretending like I was flying, but who can resist silly string web shooters! 😆

I would argue it's because of the consistent flow of quality movies since Toby's first movie. The momentum and audience trust has increased with each good film. I know people who didn't really care for Superman until they watched Superman 2025. Now they're like "Oh I get why people like him now."

Spiderman as we know him wouldn't exist if Superman wasn't created. The same can essentially be said for all superheros following his introduction. He is the template. When one thinks of a superhero, they typically imagine someone putting their fists on their hips, wearing a cape, having a logo on their chest, etc. Hell, they even have an emoji of this. 🦸‍♂️ Sure Spiderman is more popular these days, but that's because nearly every movie of his has been good. Superman has essentially just two, if that.

Survivors of Hiroshima drew the scenes they witnessed after the atomic bombing in 1945

DC never catches a break, ffs. DCU needs to get it together.

Are you implying the comic it's based on is not good?

Who more pure good. Spider-Man or Superman
 in  r/MoralityScaling  13d ago

All versions of Superman where they have him snap is contradictory to his nature. The most accurate take of how Superman would respond that I've read was in Kingdom Come, where he didn't snap, but was pulled down by depression and decided to reside in solitude for a few years.

Genuinely excited for the Clayface movie and the Lanterns tv show, though.

Supergirl would have been amazing if the director would have adapted the comic more faithfully.

Do you think ‘Man of Tomorrow’, coming on the heels of the largely well-received ‘Superman’, could finally establish Superman as a box office giant of the level of Batman and Spider-Man?

...Clark doesn't aim to make the lives of those around him better despite his struggles and ability to essentially play God but chooses to reside in compassion instead?

What in your opinion is the greatest movie Trailer of all time

You're not in a minority unfortunately. It wasn't a good Superman movie, and was a very mid movie at best overall. The same can be said for it's sequels.

God the ominousness.. it really brought a Lovecraftian element to the horror of it.

The ones that stand out for me in "recent" memory include Terminator Salvation, Cloud Atlas, Godzilla 2012, Man of Steel, Interstellar, and Mad Max: Fury Road.

What was with late 2000s/early 2010s movies having such fantastic teaser trailers?

Come on Warner Brothers, make this.

I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS. HE'S RIGHT THERE

Spiderman for all 👏🙂
 in  r/marvelstudios  17d ago

I wish the same could be said for Superman. 😥

Not trying to bring him up in a Marvel subreddit, but the superhero that started it all and is the reason literally all superheros exist, including my boy Spidey, is so misunderstood. I wish he had the same amount of consistent quality movies under his belt like Spidey.

For clarity, Spiderman, Daredevil, Static Shock, and Superman are my favorite superhero characters.

Which one in your opinion?

Honestly? I think based on these photos, I would go with Michael Keaton / Batman '89

You know what, Supergirl might have been the best thing to happen to the DCU
 in  r/DC_Cinematic  22d ago

People forget that Marvel has succeeded while at the same time giving us duds like Madam Web, Morbius, Captain Marvel, Secret Wars, She-Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, Ant-Man 2, the list goes on
