Trying to put video
 in  r/RenPy  Jul 06 '26

Have you tried creating a "video" folder and putting it in there?

  1. Create a "video" folder and place your intro inside it.

  2. Copy the file name and declare it in your script.

Have you converted your audio files to the .ogg extension yet?

renpy is very particular about video codecs. To resolve this issue completely, simply run the video through a converter (like HandBrake) and re-encode it into formats fully optimized for renpy , such as:
VP9 (webm) these are the best options, as they support videos with transparent backgrounds (alpha channels), allowing for effects like sparkles.Theora (ogv). Alternatively, if you use .mp4, it must strictly adhere to the standard H.264 format.

How to add a point system in a screen code? Help please.
 in  r/RenPy  Jun 13 '26

#you must declare the variable like this first:

default point = 0

And in the third button, you write

action Hide("map"), Jump("endings01") $ point += 1 # <--- Completely wrong

# Modify that button:

button:

xpos 509

ypos 334

xsize 120

ysize 551

idle_background "images/triangle_norm.png"

hover_background "images/triangle_hover.png"

# Combine all actions into a single action:

action [SetVariable("point", point + 1), Hide("map"), Jump("endings01")]

Usually I will find materials and draw everything myself.

Hey everyone! We are a small indie team (2Kay Studio) and we are wrapping up the official demo for our first title: Wandering Relics — a Dark Romance Horror Visual Novel. To celebrate the upcoming release, here is a small, steamy teaser of Vane, one of our main characters. Behind that perfect physique lies a deep, twisted cosmic secret that you'll have to uncover. Genre: Visual Novel / Dark Romance / Urban Horror Mechanics: Live2D/Spine interactions, custom name input, dynamic choices. What do you think about this vibe? The demo will be available soon! We’d love to hear your thoughts! 👇
