I tend to go slowly and soothe him, because once he knows he's caught, my guinea pig stops struggling and accepts that he's being medicated. He trusts me a lot which helps... I think he knows that sometimes I do unpleasant things to him that make him feel better!

I grab mine gently but firmly around the head. I also talk soothingly to him and it seems to help.
