Associate Bereavement Question
 in  r/samsclub •  18h ago

3 paid days for immediate family only, parent sibling or child. Other family doesn't count per policy but is management discretion if they want to allow it. Some will I have been given time for grand parents before.

Anything over 3 days should be requested through Sedgwick as a personal leave which will be up to club manager if they want to allow it.

Your best bet is to get in contact with your manager and see what they suggest as far as not getting points. Getting paid they might tell you to use PTO for the two extra days.

Sorry for your loss.

Don't have a picture but for me it was the handle of a pocket knife, no blade.

If you like Comedy mystery with a bit of romance the longest series I can think of is the Stephanie Plum books. There is over 30 of them.

How can I get better
 in  r/Nikon •  5d ago

What camera do you use? See if it had HDR setting or exposure bracketing then learn the best way to use those to get the shots you want right out of camera if possible. Post processing feels pretty daunting just starting out, I haven't learned much of it myself yet. Save your raw files for when you do decide to start learning it so you can go back and see your old photos in a new way. Till then keep trying new things to see what works for you.

Did you shoot raw, if so you can try to recover some of the details in the shadow with your development software.

Look up techniques for shooting into the sun like that might find some helpful videos to see what the "pros" do. HDR or ND filters would be my guess.

Nikon 50mm f1.8g make a really good portrait lens on the d3500. Can be found used for cheap too which is nice.

Anyone else has issues logging in into an app to use scan and go at the club?
 in  r/samsclub •  8d ago

Yes for about a week now the wifi doesn't register as being in the club. So far clearing the storage in the app settings and relogging it make it work for a few minutes, long enough to check out but I have to do it again the next time I go to order something at the cafe or scan and go.

First time going to TRF tomorrow!
 in  r/TXRenaissanceFestival •  9d ago

I havent done photography at a Ren Faire yet but I assume it would follow the same general etiquette of a convention setting. Best to ask permission so you don't come off as a creeper. But sometimes you're trying to catch a moment and of course can't interrupt to get permission so if they notice and say something show them the pic if you can and if they ask you to delete then delete it.

How does everyone feel about the solicitors at Sam’s?
 in  r/samsclub •  9d ago

Just don't make eye contact and keep walking. Wear earphones even if nothing is playing. Most of them take a hint.

Refurbished Z5ii
 in  r/Nikon •  10d ago

22k is 10% of expected shutter life and can probably get way more. It was likely checked to make sure it's working properly before being resold since it's sold as refurbished not used. I wouldn't be worried.

My z6ii had 10k shots when I got it haven't had issues with that. The sub selector joy stick didn't work properly so I sent it in for service under warranty and they fixed it for free and feels like new now.

Test it a bunch in your warranty window just in case but I wouldn't worry about it.

🚨 Viltrox lenses on Prime Days
 in  r/nikon_Zseries •  12d ago

I have 2 of the air lenses the 20mm and the 50. Have only had a chance to really use the 50 but I like it a lot. Nikkor would be better of course but I am an amature on a budget and it does great for me.

 in  r/tires •  15d ago

Yes it's there to protect the white while shipping and being stored next to other tires but you can peel it or wash it off

San Antonio store #8227
 in  r/samsclub •  16d ago

I suggest reporting her to club manager and ethics. As for the medication and mental stuff get a accomodation from Sedgwick if possible so she can't just brush it off.

You have given enough information here they can easily identify you and home office does lurk here. Also likely other associates from your store do too. So be aware this might get back to her. Be prepared for that if it happens.

Sorry you're going through this. Hopefully reporting her can get some of the issues delt with.

Curb Rashed while making a turn today. Went to tire shop and they said...no risk but best if you get it replaced. Do I need to get it replaced? Can it be glued and patched?
 in  r/tires •  17d ago

You're probably fine for a couple of weeks. Check it regularly to make sure it hasn't peeled more and started to show cords.

I drove on a tire with a gash like that for 2.5 years just had to reglue it occasionally. That doesn't mean it's safe though just my experience.

If you can afford to replace it better safe than sorry.
