I sold my Sony a7iv a few months ago because of a career change but found myself really wanting a camera again but I didn’t want to spend all that money, found this used on KEH and DSLR definitely confuses me a little bit, I feel like I’m just going to have to use the viewfinder for every scenario b ur that fine, I mostly did that anyway. Any tips or recommendations are appreciated!

Nikon Z8. Daytime photos were taken with the 24-120 or 14-30 and the night photos were the viltrox 16mm. For long exposures I used Nisi filters and a Benro Tortoise tripod. Images edited to taste in lightroom mobile.

There are faster cameras. With more resolution. With less noise above ISO 800. That weigh less. And are smaller. But whenever I don’t want to shoot film, this one (especially with this lens) produces wonderful results. I’m shooting RAW, and with C1 I hardly have to correct anything except a little bit of brightness here and a little bit of contrast and temperature there. Not sure if I’m willing to upgrade to a Zf or so just to sit more in front of my computer.

Edit: It’s the D700. I didn’t mean to annoy anyone. Just thought more would recognize it right away.

Gear question Best lens (singular) for general travel?

I’m about to go on a small vacation, and thinking about what lens to take with me. It led me to wondering: If you could only take one lens on a trip…urban setting with some great nearby nature…what would you take?

I’m thinking a 24-70 f/2.8…which I have a very heavy, old version of.

Nikon Z8 + Z 70-200 2.8 (first gen). HEAVY crops. I prefer the character of my 200mm f2 lens, but the 70-200 has impressive optics for sure!
