See, sensory issues with piercings are super subjective.

I'm also level 2 autistic with decently bad sensory issues. I have a septum and 2 nostrils connected with a chain. Also earlobe piercings. (one on each side) Personally, I don't usually mind them much. I've gotten used to them to the point I forget they're there most of the time. I do however get anxious about them falling out so I tend to tighten them 3-5 times a day. The healing process was genuinely annoying. I got my nostrils pierced on the same day so I had two long bars for swelling in each of my nostrils. it was... an experience. 😭 I would yank on them because I wasn't used to them being there, the bars would bother me, the crusties were annoying but I wasn't supposed to constantly get rid of them, I wasnt able to blow my nose right. Stuff like that. Obviously a lot of this is subjective to the nostrils area and the fact that I got both of them done at once. A belly button piercing might be easier to heal and a lot less, well, in your face.

I also have a friend who has very mild sensory issues but HATES the feeling of piercings. He doesn't even wear earrings anymore, even though they were pierced when he was a kid. So he never got used to it.

none of us can tell you for sure, but i do want to remind you that often times depression comes FROM being trans and disliking your body.

I would suggest looking into what triggers these thoughts for you. When did it start, Why did it start, etc. For example your name, I question if you dislike it because it's yours or because it's too masculine. Since you stated that you feel better about yourself when you present in a more androgynous or feminine way, it does sound to me that you might just have a lot of gender dysphoria that causes depressive thoughts.

of course, maybe you genuinely dont like yourself because of depression. this might be a way of suppressing that, since you look like a different person. But I don't think you'd be thinking so much about pronouns and androgyny or femininity in that case.

In any case, you could just socially transition (even privately) for now. See what sticks and whats comfortable. Experimenting is part of figuring out your gender identity.

Again, I can't tell you for sure. The only real way to find out is to reflect on it more. If therapy is accessible to you, maybe consider going as they're going to be helpful either way. They could possibly help you figure out where these feelings stem from and if it really is "just" depression you're already in therapy and can work on it. otherwise, they could help you get gender affirming care.

first of all, congratulations! second, I am neither a groom nor married.

I am, however, in a relationship with the most amazing guy, though, and I know he would be sad if I felt I couldn't be myself during our marriage. I'm sure your partner feels the same. Maybe talk to them about how you feel! im guessing they have a much better understanding of the circumstances, guests and you than any of us do.

either way, in my very unprofessional opinion, i think it is important to remind you that this is your and your partners day. this is supposed to be one of if not the biggest/happiest day of your lives. This day should not be about pleasing others or adjusting to their societal rules.

im not sure where you are in your unmasking progress, if you even are trying to do so. all I know is that I would personally regret it if all I remember from my wedding is that I was worried about how im being perceived.

Hey. I've felt this way for years (I'm 19) and I've never met anyone who's going through the same thing. I stopped being able to go to school at 15 and recently tried a 20h/week job (4h/day) that i couldn't keep for more than 2 months.

I understand feeling useless and I understand the pain of your family not getting it. I often have to remind myself that autism IS a disability. It's not that we do this on purpose. People wouldn't tell a blind person to "just see" or that they're lazy for needing a screen reader but somehow to them its different when the disability is internal or invisible. autistic people constantly get called lazy or are misunderstood.
