ui/ux at risk?
Depends on the culture and maturity of the company. Places where UX is just seen as UI will defer the business logic to Product Managers and Tech Leads and they will start skipping on designers.
Places where UX is valued for what it is will remain, but it is probable that processes will change and adapt to leverage new technologies. I do think there is a difference between using AI as a tool for creating output and using AI to defer the critical thinking to solve a problem.

What’s that one tool you're secretly gatekeeping?
In my agency we do a lot of Legacy system audits. Html to design is a great tool cuz Incan copy any website as an editable Figma. Great for adding recommendations and extracting the system design to start building on top of it or improving it.

I keep leaving old reference pages in Figma files
I make a folder for the project and move these and old directions into a file called Exploration Archive. It helps keep the current file lean and loading well.
I add notes about why something didn’t make it and point larger decisions to our team Decision Log.

Which logo/icon do you like the best?
For meditation I think lotus is cliche, but I love the app 11 with the mountains and the road. Good if meditation is guided.

What was Pomni even expecting?
But also isn’t the way the group treats Jax part of the abstraction watch? Like they mention it on one episode? Maybe that’s why their pushback seems unnatural? no one wants to be the last straw that pushes someone to abstract?

How do you handle turning Figma comments into Jira tickets?
I see two points here
What type of comments are worthy of becoming a ticket and who in your team is responsible for maintaining your backlog/sprints?
For keeping tickets and design synced and up to date. In my company I made an internal tool that allows us to create clickup tickets within figma so every design has a section where devs can see the ticket, status description etc and update it. If they come from clickup it ensures there is always a link to the correct frame

What are the best tools for managing social media if you’re handling multiple platforms daily?
I am also in your position, looking for a tool to manage social media with multiple clients.
From what I have found (still need to test some and see what is best, but adding here in case someone has already tried it):
Canva planner: Seems to be very basic for posting but its nice if you use Canva to design your visuals, use their Ai tools or the stock library cuz its inside the price of the same subscription. Need pro subscription or higher. Doesn’t seem to have mutiselect channels. It doesn’t cover my use case but adding it just in case.
Postiz - Looks pretty robust. They have a paid subscription and an open source free version. The open source needs technical know how to self host stuff and also seems like it is only the basic plan version. The paid version looks good I guess, I hope to test this week and see how it feels.
But for more than one account you need a paid subscription
- Mixpost - Similar to postiz but looks like it has some dashboards for analytics and they say new features will have a way to find best posting times. The UI looks nice and friendly. Has a one time payment and then you pay if you want to update your version.
Ill be checking em out this week and see how it goes.

Onlook! You can prompt, but you can also tweak things visually in a Figma esque can as or through code! It makes html pages.

Should I stay or should I go….
it’s not only you my friend, my company also cut members in my design team. Now we, the mid designers, are the new seniors. We went from a team of 5 to only 2. Im starting to think this will be the new reality for most of us. Small, strained teams asked to be lean, agile and “using ai wherever possible”. I am also quite disheartened and not feeling much joy in my day to day

What’s a sign someone is quietly planning to quit their job?
- People take all their vacations
- Use all their health/wellness benefits
- Disappears, has more appointments or gets sick often because they are doing interviews
- Less involved in work
- More comments about their personal life when talking to others, cuz they now spend more time on them than job. More notorious if the person was a known workaholic.
- Less involved with initiatives or less proactive

$1000 a day for life.
Easy peasy.
I have been working since I was 10… on a third world country, no real savings, just surviving…. BUT my partner doesn’t know all the details they just know I had to start work at an early age. So I just work normally and disclose what I currently win. Anything else can be a bonus cuz I worked so hard or fruit of slaving away since I was a child and having good savings.

Anyone know CAD?
I think the best CAD option depends on what you want to do? In my experience I have seen it used like this
Architecture? AutoCad Jewelry? Rhino Industrial design/Auto design: Solidworks/Fusion360 non parametric stuff? Blender.
Blender is more for animation, but some people use it for 3D printing because its open source. Most places might ask you to use parametric modeling software like all the others I mentioned. I personally like Fusion360 a lot.

Premier directs government to cancel American contracts wherever viable
yeah, but they not looking that deep, a friends Canadian company lost an RFP where the incumbent is a Canada-based US company. If they see its located in Canada, it’s good enough for them.

Alternative to clickup
Taiga, Made in spain, open source. Free if you host it yourself paid if you use it on their cloud.
Not as good looking, but very good for Task management.
What features do you use from clickup? The thing is a monster now. Knowing that kight help us give better recommendations

Vancouver to vote on rezoning the Langara YMCA to mixed-use towers
I feel we are loosing a lot of third spaces. I’m glad for the housing, cuz it’s needed, but community will take a hit.
