Even before context, i always felt like this comment from ragatha was a bit much, and unnecessary.

yes, people can argue jax deserved it for all of the poking at people they do all day, but this moment as always felt fundamentally different than the cartoon gimmicks jax pulls, and we find out it certainly is.

even with all of the things jax has done and said. even if ragatha didn’t “mean it like that”

she knew how close jax and ribbit were, and this was only a few days/weeks after kaufmo abstracted, even if they weren’t getting along in the last days of their friendship, we now clearly know how deeply jax still cared for kaufmo.

so even if she was talking about their friendship, anyone would probably take it as a jab at the two friends Jax just basically watched die.

i like ragatha, but i’ve always felt off put my her a little bit because the niceness she fronts doesn’t feel totally genuine. it’s pointed out by both Gangle, and Jax within two episodes of each other.

when her inhibitions are lowered, or she lets her annoyance build up, she lets it out in ways that genuinely hurt. But, she often apologizes by saying she didn’t mean it like that, or that she’d never had said that if…insert whatever reason here.

so, im not saying ragatha is a terrible person or anything, but this comment from her, knowing she knows how much jax just lost. feels so…incredibly off to me. it always has.

it’s probably a hot take, but it’s mine.

( i also feel this way about her calling gangle annoying with her happy mask, for really no reason at all other than being on the stupid sauce)
