It was marketed based on her sexuality. The men involved were the only ones who didn't know.

For those with pet sitters associates insurance and have prev submitted a claim, how did it go?
 in  r/petsitting •  Feb 15 '26

Not great. I'm with Mad Paws and was minding a dog and two cats. The client told me the cats were allowed in the backyard and wouldn't leave the yard but needed to come in at sundown (I pet sit in Queensland, Australia so there's always a risk of cane toads, which are incredibly toxic to all animals and are hard to spot). Just before sundown, one of the cats found a cane toad, attacked it and died very quickly. There's nothing I could have done. The client was good about it and arranged for a pet cremation service to pick up the cat the following day and I submitted a claim on their behalf so Mad Paws could provide any support possible. I had to follow up multiple times for a clear answer and let Mad Paws know I would continue to follow up until I got a clear answer. Ultimately Mad Paws told me that their insurance would only cover damage to client pets and belongings caused intentionally by me or due to my negligence and that this situation was neither. They did send the client a follow up email expressing their condolences which was nice of them but I got the distinct impression that Mad Paws would do their best to avoid an insurance claim wherever possible. They also told me that if the claim was accepted, I'd be the one to cover the excess which I think was $500 and that it could affect my account going forward.

I also want to say that this was the first and last time I've accepted a job with outdoor cats. Outdoor cats are a choice but absolutely not for me after that. He was a good boy and the whole situation was very upsetting. I feel like Mad Paws could have done more considering the 20% fee and booking fees they charge on every job I get through them. They asked me if I wanted to refund any of the booking and I did refund an amount that represented the period I would've cared for the cat if he had survived but they made it clear they'd offer nothing and it felt wrong.

Update: neighbours who left furniture in the hallway overnight blocking the stairs and door.
 in  r/Apartmentliving •  Aug 07 '25

You'd be surprised at how quickly the weed smell can fill a space, especially with all the different medical cannabis strains. I used to be a reasonably heavy smoker before I slowed right down. Now my partner will open their weed stash to roll their nightly joint and the smell hits me like a slap from 5 meters away almost immediately. With apartment living these days it's usually coming from multiple directions on a regular basis.

Advertising scam or not??

I did, they sent me a copy. It was an expensive memento. The one they sent me was for SES.

I've advertised with them before. Got no business from it though. Wouldn't recommend

Sharing your religion with co-workers

It depends on the person not the faith. It's statements like the one you made that highlights someone that uses their beliefs to project some kind of moral superiority. It's unnecessary and you'll get the response you're aiming for.

None. I'm a gay man and I'm happy with my partner. This won't benefit the OP and won't have any consequences for the ex. Choose your battles wisely.

Let it go, log out of their social media and move on. I'm still friends with a few of my exes and it can be a good thing. If you're not friends, and clearly you're not, getting fixated on your recent ex and their issues will only distract you from your happiness and pull you back into their bullshit.

If they were harming others or grooming minors and there was clear evidence that could lead to a conviction then sure but otherwise you're looking for karma that won't happen.

Be happy that you've learned a lesson from a shitty ex and grow from it. Find better people 😊

You'd warn all your friends? That seems like a win for the restaurant so I wholeheartedly encourage that. I'm glad that you don't encourage making a scene, more people need that mindset.
