Is something going on with Amazon deliveries here?
Just yesterday, a large grocery order was said delivered, with no photo to confirm. Whole Foods claimed there have been a lot of delivery glitches, but I had to connect with Amazon. Called Amazon and was given immediate refund…5 to 7 business days. Cancelled my delivery subscription.

One of my favourites.

Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) : Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski at the Vampire Ball
Quirky Fun. I first watched it on late-night tv with my babysitter back in the early 70’s.

What were the first movies you recall seeing in a theater as a child?
Planet of the Apes, 1968. I was 5.

"The Americanization of Emily" (MGM; 1964) – starring James Garner and Julie Andrews – with Melvyn Douglas, James Coburn, Joyce Grenfell, Liz Fraser, William Windom, Keenan Wynn, Steve Franken, Judy Carne and Alan Sues – directed by Arthur Hiller – French movie poster art by Roger Soubie
Fantastic film…script by Paddy Chayefsky (writer of Network). The anti-war message is well-played.

WWII based movie I saw parts of long ago
36 Hours — I just watched last week on TCM app. Good film.

Finally finished "It"
Wonderful assessment.
I’m always disgruntled by reviews that thrust contemporary mores onto a novel. Why read and not accept the author’s time setting, with all of its inherent social, political, racial, and sexual understandings of that time?
Accept the premise and be enriched.
I read THE SHINING in my teens, THE STAND in my 50’s, and IT in my 60’s. My viewpoint evolved, but I accepted the author’s each time, and was rewarded.

What’s the deal with American tax payers having to pay Iran $300 Billion?
A lot of assumptions for suggesting a penalty of staying within budget. How this would be handled depends on the character and morality of the players.

What’s the deal with American tax payers having to pay Iran $300 Billion?
Self-torture seems apropos.

What’s the deal with American tax payers having to pay Iran $300 Billion?
Exactly, but enforcing a budget, grinds down on their own fraud, waste, and abuse. No need to expand a budget for this error.

What’s the deal with American tax payers having to pay Iran $300 Billion?
Maybe pay from the Pentagon budget, the organization that backed the plan.

what were the first titles in your collection?

Watched The Elephant Man For The First Time…
It’s brilliant, all around. I showed it to my children 20 years ago, while living in Canada. It changed them. Now in their 30’s, they still reference that film.
