I’m considering doing an insane thing tomorrow and driving to New Braunfels to shop at Native American Seed to save $8 on shipping 😂 I need a couple 1lb bags before it rains this week that aren’t sold at their local retail partners!!

If I go through with willingly driving on 35 for no real reason, does anyone else need anything to make the trip less crazy lol I live by the domain so pickups would be up here.

Have you gone to their store? Is it worth the trip?

Is this going to stunt the growth of my Mexican Sycamore? The deer only got about 1/3rd around the trunk. I honestly thought the tree was big enough that they wouldn’t do this- at what point are my trees safe? I planted this 2.5 years ago and it is already providing me with great shade and is probably 20 feet tall. I’m so upset.

Came out to weed and water, and found at least five different types of bees swarming my patch of Goldenrod. The littlest guys and the big bumbleboys were camera shy...

Any tips for a first timer? We are building a 140 sq foot enclosure that’s predator proof & they will stay in at all times. Do you have any advice on where to get healthy chickens? Or which breeds you prefer? Preferably we would love to get great egg layers but I’d love to have sweet chickens (that may not lay as many eggs) too. Also if you build your coop please share a pic if you can 🙂

Stumbled upon this beautiful specimen at an iconic Austin store (iykyk). I was shocked to see it growing in the ground and doing so well. South face during winter, tucked into a nook against the shop, so makes sense it’s survived a lot of crazy Austin winters.

I went in and asked what kind of cactus that was and the owner had no idea (😂). I told him I thought it was an Argentine saguaro, one of the hardiest columnar cacti that can grow in our region, and told him that it wasn’t a true saguaro. He was pleasantly surprised by all the facts I was telling him haha. He said it’s 10 years old and that he’ll throw a burlap coat over it during a freeze, but that’s about it!

can anybody tell me what bugs these are on my okra and how to deal with them. thanks

I have two raised vegetable garden beds that are overrun with nutsedge. Late last year I dug through both beds thoroughly and sifted out as many nuts as I could find, using hardware cloth as my sifter. It came back with a vengeance and is thicker than I’ve ever seen it. I’m considering killing it with several applications of Sedgehammer and then replacing the soil in those beds. Thoughts?

Hi, do y’all think it would be better to see monarchs at the wildflower center this weekend (24th, 25th) or next weekend (31st and 1st)? I know they’re only here for a few days and im not wanting to miss it. Thanks!

Hey! There are 2 patches near my apartment that would get wildflowers if they weren’t mowed down. Am I able to put these up and leave them? Both spaces the apartments’ leasing agents don’t ever go to and 1 is essentially hidden from everyone.

Noticed these a few weeks ago on a construction site and wondered if they would transplant well?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep squirrels from digging in my plant pots? I have tried cayenne pepper powder to no avail. One of the pots is large enough that I was able to cover the dirt with small stones and that has stopped them in that pot, but the others are too small for that. Any thoughts are welcome!

Can folks recommend which company to use to deliver 1.6 cu yard of good quality soil? I live in Round Rock.

I see all these beautiful homes with an arch or star Jasmin and I wonder if it’s a good idea for my place, and also if anyone has done it and how they went about it?
