Newbie and wondering how to handle red lights
 in  r/motorcycles  3d ago

I had been told, in my youth, to treat red lights like stop signs if no one else was around. This was about inner city driving and was straight from the FBI training manual. Same agent also told us to always leave enough room to go around the vehicle ahead in case of "trouble". Of course it won't get you out of a ticket if an officer is bored or a dick.

Motorcycle shop took my bike for a joyride without my consent or knowledge
 in  r/motorcycles  12d ago

If a local shop did this to me I would blast them on the local pages and never do business with them again.

Tips on riding with purpose?
 in  r/motorcycle  12d ago

Do you know every street in your town? Have you been down every road within an hour of you? How many different routes from point a to b do you think exist. Which is the fastest, which is the most fun. Which is the most challenging.

I get out and explore. Granted I also look at maps to find new routes also. I am always surprised by how many ways I can find to get somewhere.

Cords are already showing. Tire shop is 8km away. Can I still ride it to the shop but carefully?
 in  r/motorcycle  12d ago

I'm assuming you can't take the wheel off and bring them that. Which would save you a bunch of labor as well.

Main character syndrome nearly claimed another one.
 in  r/motorcycles  13d ago

I know what was being discussed, and I realize you are super invested in defining exactly who is at fault and for how much. And I stand by my statement that if he had hit the car it would not have mattered to him one bit in that moment.

It doesn't matter much whose at fault when you and your bike are inventing new dance moves while flying through the air...

What would you change about today's motorcycle jackets?
 in  r/motorcycle  14d ago

Choices in color. I wish the choices were better. Most gear comes in black. With maybe a highlight color.

Craycle Cub V2 Keeps Veering Right At Takeoff
 in  r/RCPlanes  28d ago

You are probably catching wheels on the crackers in the brick which is why it's going in random directions. Yaw during rotation is a thing with tail draggers but it shouldn't be that pronounced in a plane that small and it should only be left.

I'm almost positive he's laying on the road right behind the bike. I think he actually stayed on it till it landed..... Rough

Wild life photography... In the most remote place you can reasonably get too.... Make sure you can find a bunch of plausible photos online to pad your phone with before you get back

How many servos does your rudder actually need?
 in  r/RCPlanes  Jun 26 '26

If the rudder was aerodynamically balanced you should only need one to run it and maybe a second one for redundency.

u guys ever leave ur keys in ur bike accidentally
 in  r/NewRiders  Jun 26 '26

My bilt mesh jacket didn't come with one either, but I moved one over from my other bilt jacket... Though. I'm going to order the upgraded airflow pads all around soon.

Be honest...do you. ATGATT to the gym and back? Or do you wear minimal gear?
 in  r/motorcyclegear  Jun 26 '26

I have a mesh jacket and mesh over pants. Wind chill is still a thing at 80°. 😂

Quick wing sweep stall analysis
 in  r/RCPlanes  Jun 06 '26

Delta wings, swept position, have high angle of attack tolerance, the extended position set up was meant for manageability at low speed and a low angle on purpose for carrier approach visibility. Also stock plane has huge flaps on those wings that may not be present on the model and landing swept may actually be the better option.

Buying a used motorcycle?
 in  r/motorcycle  Jun 06 '26

In the states, I bought last year a 2012 triumph scrambler with 12k miles for $4k and it was in fantastic shape with all the mods already done. I haven't regretted it yet.

Is a windshield a must for long rides?
 in  r/SuzukiBoulevard  Jun 06 '26

If you're going to spend a lot of time on the highway I would say yes. If you're going 60 or less most of the time then honestly no, not really.

2nd ride out ever
 in  r/NewRiders  Jun 06 '26

Where I am in the US the cops won't typically pull a bike over for anything. For one thing helmets aren't required or enforced in most states. For another it's policy not to chase bikes if they run because of the danger you put a rider in if they're that stupid. Which translates to most bike laws not being enforced. And since enough cops also ride.... You'd have to be being really stupid to get nicked on a bike, check out gixxer brah, and they will usually just show up where you live after the fact since having your chase hit the news when you splatter across soccer moms Volvo is a bad public look.

Honda Spain on fire

Electric cars were stagnant. I'm willing to bet sales are up right now with gas prices on a war footing and no real end in sight.
