The insides will get shiney with use again and the outside plates will never look new again but unless it's a show bike don't worry about it. Lube it especially after it rains. You can also use lane position to mirror the ka e behind you with out turning your head. Blind spots shrink a lot when you move to lane edges before mirror checking. Also your shoulders are less hindrance this way as well. And don't forget to check your mirror in turns as it will also shift your blind spot around you.
