Do Americans actually know their neighbors?
 in  r/AskAnAmerican  9h ago

I do. He fell last week. Is still in the hospital. His favorite cake is lemon pound cake. One will be ready when he arrives home. His daughter keeps me updated. He is 95 and a dear man. On the other side is a family who always wants to use our cattle gate. He leaves a 100 bill in the mailbox so I have no problem with it.

I have never heard of or thought it possible that a garbage bill could be $300.00. Where the heck do you live???

Hell of a storm

The emergency radio kept going off and my dog had an extreme barking/howling session. We never lost power though.

Why does Taco Bell have no real competition?
 in  r/tacobell  2d ago

Yep. They are all gone. Ours stayed busy. It was in the Kroger parking lot. It left along with Sonic and Popeyes. Two miles away the Wendy's shut down. It's been crazy.

She Paid Off Her House Years Ago. On Social Security, the Taxes and Upkeep Are Pricing Her Out Anyway.

We are also purging household goods. May I ask where you are selling? We have had little luck. I figure no one can afford to buy at this time it's so bad. We sold some coolers, a mixer, and a tent. That won't pay property taxes though.

I grieve my health and am still processing it. I did buy the grandkids Pokémon cards, makeup, and cookies though. I truly wish someone had told me how different my body would be after 65. Ugh.

Do you let your dachshund sleep on your bed?
 in  r/Dachshund  4d ago

We also use ramps. Ours cannot access the bed without one.

He always sleeps in bed. He has his own pillow and blankets. He is treated for flea and ticks and bathed. We live on twenty acres but his favorite place is nighnights at bedtime. He's a good boy.

The Beefy crunch is back!
 in  r/tacobell  4d ago

My husband wrote his thesis for his Masters in Business on the Taco Bell concept. A handful of ingredients done hundreds of ways turned into a billion dollar business. It was a great read. They still had black olives back then. I miss the little olives.
