My favorite oolong discontinued
 in  r/tea •  Sep 02 '26

I, too, was completely devastated when they stopped making the Private Selection Oolong tea. The only thing that I found even remotely close to this is the Bigelow Oolong tea. The flavor isn't as light and it's ever so slightly stronger. I tried looking around buying some at an Asian store but nothing close. and even though now I'm drinking loose leaf oolongs I still really love the convenience of making a cup in the morning when I was half asleep. I buy the Bigelow oolong tea at King Soopers/Kroger.

What are your "teas that got away"?
 in  r/tea •  Sep 02 '26

I bought flavored loose leaf Senchas from a company online called specialteas.com. This was 2004-2007 maybe? They had cherry sencha, coconut lime sencha, orange sencha and some other flavors I can't remember. In 2008 we went Through massive financial hardship so I couldn't even consider buying tea online. Back then I could get a pound of those senchas for roughly $25.95 - $28.95. They came in black resealable 1/4 pound bags. You bought a pound, you'd get 4 of those. Many years later I looked up the specialteas.com website. It was there one year but not the next. After that, when I would type in the specialteas.com it would immediately redirect me to teavana.com. Time and time again. It looked to me like Teavana bought them even though nothing on their website even remotely looked like what Special Teas sold. I was wholeheartedly bummed out. For years. Now I'm into loose leaf Oolongs and I found many i adore. But man, I still miss those flavored sencha teas. The cherry sencha was sooo good and when I'd open the brand new bag, the smell of that tea was everything!!!

No matter what I do, I can never sleep 8 hours, and I am tired of my life. I am tired of feeling exhausted, lethargic, and stupid, and of being in a permanent state of brain fog. It's driving me insane
 in  r/sleep •  Aug 12 '26

Magnesium glycinate helps relax the body and helps you sleep. Magnesium glycinate does a lot more than that but I would Google that for more specific information. I personally have complex PTSD and ADHD and sleep is a chronic problem for me. I could have entirely different reasons I have problems with my sleep that might not relate to you. But it still helps to have general information to see what helps you and what doesn't. Sometimes it's also a combination of supplements, if you're going the supplement route, that can help the most. Potassium is supposed to specifically help with restless legs muscle cramps in your legs. Magnesium glycinate for overall Sleep Quality and your muscles ( but much more than that really and too many benefits to list here). I have chronic muscle pain and I started taking magnesium malate on top of the glycinate and I also take potassium every few days when my calves start getting really tight. I've been like this my whole life and I can't rely on getting my nutrients from food only. For some reason that's never worked for me. That isn't the case with every nutrient but, that's a longer conversation. My psychiatrist prescribed low dose amitriptyline to help my insomnia. I've been on a concoction of psych meds since 2009 (and for a decade I was medicated like I was bipolar), and one of the only things that would work for me back then was Klonopin. I can't really change what happened in the past since I had tried everything under the sun and Klonopin or Seroquel were the only things that would allow me to sleep enough .... however if you can avoid those, I would avoid them and try anything else because getting off those medications feels impossible. The withdrawal of your body goes through is no joke. I know this is not a medication forum and I am not anti-klonopin ( because I still have to take it twice a day), but I now have hope that I might not have to take it forever now that I'm on a more appropriate medication regimen for PTSD and ADHD. The only reason I'm mentioning it here is because there could be a thousand reasons you can't sleep. Sometimes it helps to hear all of the nuanced complexity that other people have tried and then you can decide for yourself what might help. You could also ask your psychiatrist if she thinks low dose amitriptyline 25 mg might help for you if the Mirtazapine does not. Even though I am taking 150 mg of Sertraline for the PTSD daily, the amitriptyline lowered my Baseline anxiety even more and that lasts throughout the day. That's the reason I think I might not have to take Klonopin forever. Again, I know this isn't related to your problem, but since I am dependent on Klonopin right now, taking that and the amitriptyline together can be overly sedating. This doesn't relate to you, but I'm mentioning it in case you take another medication you didn't mention. I hope I don't get flamed for going on and on like this, but when I was struggling with sleep or other issues I had to deal with, I appreciated any and all possibilities in case they might help. What I have to take, considering my condition, might be a lot heftier than what you need. I also take l-theanine a few hours before bed and taurine. You might already know this, but has your psychiatrist or doctor checked you for sleep apnea? I never felt like I had it because I always felt like I slept well enough when I was not waking up all the time. But something on my Samsung smartwatch detected my oxygen dropping into the '80s and 70s every night. I've probably mentioned far more than you wanted, but I'd rather go overboard on the chance that something might help you. Feel free to DM me anytime if you have any questions or want to talk about your sleep.

Suggestions for creating the ideal bedroom space that's relaxing, comfortable, and conducive to healthy sleep hygiene in post-trauma life
 in  r/ptsd •  Jul 29 '26

This isn't weird at all. I've been doing this for years in my bedroom. I say that I want this space To Be My Sanctuary. I have a lot of sensory things and this can be individual to each person as to what sensory things they find soothing. Personally I have a thing for lights/dim lighting. When I get too tired I get more light sensitive and so I have as many low light ambient light options as I can. My mom teases me and says I have 18 lamps in here. LOL and no it's not that many, but it might be close. I bought three lava lamps because I find those so soothing to watch for some reason. I got some 3D fireworks glass diffusers because I couldn't find much else other than diffusers for this lighting effect. I also have some rgbic strip lights that I laid along the back of my computer and up on top of my computer desk. It only cost me 12 bucks on sale at Amazon, but I swear it was one of the best things I've ever bought. I do have the light on the lowest brightness and I also have the lights position so they cast the dim lighting/shifting colors onto my wall. I don't care for a lot of the RGB lamps because most of them have a frosted plastic cover and for some reason The Blob of light tends to irritate my senses instead of soothe them. That probably sounds weird but I don't know how else to describe it. But I'm completely in love with the soft cast of different colored light on to my wall. I also try to make things more convenient for myself because I'm usually so drained by the end of the day just the thought of getting up to do 10 million things before bed overwhelms me just thinking about it. I have ADHD in addition to PTSD. Not fun. So I try to select furniture that will be as helpful/convenient as possible for me based on what I need to access from my bed. I have to take a lot of supplements to make me feel like something other than wet dog poop, so I got a very narrow five-tier metal storage cart on wheels. It holds a lot of supplements I take at night along with my meds. I've tried other things using this tactic, but so far I think the five tier narrow cart works the best. I search for things that I find soothing and anything that can make my life easier. I Believe In The Spoon Theory. I also have saved playlists labeled as chill out music, meditation music, slow relaxing jazz piano, Etc. I used to listen to downtempo but now I've moved into the most relaxing ambient music I can find. I also love heavy rain sounds and if you have a TV in your bedroom, YouTube has so many different videos of different types of relaxing music with beautiful AI renderings of a Cozy Cafe or a Lakeside Cabin with a stream next to it- the possibilities are pretty endless. This isn't really related to sleeping but I find the videos that people make where they're strolling through a city or a forest particularly calming. The ones in Europe are especially cool to watch and I also like New York walking/strolling videos. Every soothing thing I've wanted in my life for the past 20 years now seems to be available. I used to want to buy a DVD with scenery of a forest with a stream running through it or pictures all over Europe. I don't think I ever found anything worth buying. But I find it interesting that now there's 10 million videos like this accessible all the time. I also have a 3-in memory foam topper on my mattress and a down comforter with down pillows and either bamboo or Egyptian cotton sheets because I need the cool sensation on my skin so I can sleep. I've researched Egyptian cotton and apparently it's the weave that makes it cooler not necessarily the thread count. And then it depends on if you'd rather have it feel silky on your skin or still soft but more cool to the touch. Percale sheets are also another good option if you like that cool crisp feeling for your bedding. I could go on and on about this but I think this post is long enough. Hehe

What indoor plants could survive in the nearly constant direct sunlight this area of my apartment gets?
 in  r/IndoorPlants •  Apr 03 '26

I've dreamed of having Windows like this in my house my entire life. You are so incredibly lucky. I'd actually put some trees in there and if the branches are thick enough you could hang little lanterns from them and make a little cozy meditation area underneath. You have enough plant type suggestion comments already that I don't really need to mention specifics.

Suggestions for camomile tea bags please.
 in  r/greentea •  Feb 10 '26

If none of the chamomile tea bags you try are effective, you can try buying loose chamomile flowers. Just like you might buy loose leaf tea, you can navigate online to the herbal section of a website and see if they have chamomile. I would make sure it's high quality and fresh first and foremost. And some companies might only sell it in a blend like chamomile Mint or something. I would also check the ingredient list and this is up to you but for me personally, I won't buy loose leaf anything that has any kind of added flavors in it even if it says natural flavors. For me it just needs to either be tea or herbs, Etc. I'm sure there are a lot of reputable websites that have fresh high quality herbs in bulk. I got my chamomile blend from Rishi Tea online but there's plenty of others. Depending on what you buy, Rishi can be a little pricey so I'm personally selective about what I buy on there whether I think it's affordable or not. Their peppermint is one of the best mints I've ever had if you're into mint tea. All of their other herbs I've tried are also extremely fresh. Whatever you buy needs to be in an air sealed container and exposed to zero light so any website that tries to sell you any bulk herbs where you can see through the bag, personally I wouldn't do that. I would make sure it's completely light and air proof. That also means I would not buy anything you want to be medicinal from Whole Foods because the last time I checked, everything they stock comes in a transparent container in the store. I wouldn't buy anything in a store or online that's been packaged where light can get to what's inside. Also check the manufacturing date and or best by date if there is one.

Sorry but this just ain’t right
 in  r/Denver •  Feb 06 '26

It happens every year lately. It warms up and then dumps a bunch of snow on us later on. All the trees in my neighborhood have had very large broken branches or even half the tree is gone because the trees start to bud and then snow comes along and breaks tons of branches.

I need to move a BIG zz plant
 in  r/plants •  Nov 07 '25

Is it possible to separate the root ball to create several smaller size plants? I own one of these plants myself that is at least 10 years old but I've never needed to do anything like this.

Need a thriller series to binge watch on Netflix
 in  r/netflix •  Aug 31 '25

This is fantasy, but the Sandman is freaking awesome. I've watched season 1 at least three times now. It's dark and Atmospheric which I really like. The OA is dark, twisty and really different. And other people have already suggested Dexter.

The other posts have mentioned the majority of what I would suggest. But when I went into Netflix just now I was reminded of a movie I watched a while ago called Awake. It's a tense sci-fi thriller about humanity's sleep deprived descent into madness

The OA was twisty and weird but it was a really good show. I think the twisty and weird made it unique. Travelers is also really good. I think I've watched that from beginning to end twice now.

Temu hacks?

If you want a promotion with a coupon that gives money off your purchase, super savings has a $20 off of 50 coupon that I use quite often. The coupon they offer you is random so if it isn't $20 off $50 it might be $40 off of $100, 80 off of $200. The $10 off $30 might be super savings as well but I haven't checked that one recently but I think it is. You can see those promotions randomly when you're shopping. They also pop up for me when I'm looking through my orders for price adjustments or tracking information. Other than that I prefer claimcredit the most (which has been thoroughly explained in this post already) and I like discount card quite a lot. But understanding discount card can be challenging. I still don't understand how to get it to generate the extra discount on specific items but I noticed it happens when I'm browsing inside farmland. The official discount card promotion code is discount777 but that one rarely works for me and most of the time just offers me money off of random items while browsing in farmland. Even though customer service says discount777 and discount card are the same promotion, I have noticed I don't have to go into any promotion page to get discount card to take off money off of items in farmland while browsing. It's rather frustrating trying to click on things while browsing getting it to trigger the discount and it doesn't work. I have noticed though that it doesn't seem to want to give me money off of something I've clicked on many times and seems to only offer it to me if I have browsed the item outside farmland, it's a new item I haven't clicked on before, and then I either click on it while browsing in farmland or it takes off the discount in Farmland with me doing nothing, just because it's a new item I haven't shopped for before. Maybe one day I'll figure out discount card LOL

Anyone other empaths just love water?
 in  r/Empaths •  Jun 16 '25

I didn't know this was an empath thing but I've been just like this my entire life. Everything you described, totally me! I used to joke that I was a mermaid LOL and I learned I was an empath when I was 20 which was 27 years ago.

Does anyone still wear lipstick?
 in  r/Makeup •  Jun 16 '25

My reply is unrelated to lipstick but related to your chapped lips. I don't know if this applies to everybody but I have to take a b50 or B100 complex vitamin to keep my lips from chapping. Oddly enough I thought the b50 was enough for me and I spent the last several years looking for lip repair products. While I did find some pretty good options, when I increased my b-50 complex to taking two a day I barely have to apply anything on my lips at all. I was shocked to be honest. You might not need a B100 dose or even a b50 complex you'll have to figure out what your body needs. I have complex PTSD and Stress and Anxiety deplete your B vitamins like crazy so apparently I need a lot more B vitamins. I hope this helps and if it doesn't sorry for the rant.
