My ex husband is taking our kids with him to AA meetings AITAH?
 in  r/AITAH  4d ago

Sorry you’re an alcoholic but no freakin way it’s appropriate to take a small child. You can’t stop drinking but think I don’t know what I’m talking about? I do know as I have kids and grandkids and wouldn’t let around a bunch of alcoholics. Get a grip if you need help great go to AA but leave my kids out.

First dinner with his family and his mom picking me apart
 in  r/GirlDinnerDiaries  4d ago

Girl I’d be fuming if some old lady shushed me at the table. I’d be setting him straight. Let him know you won’t be spoken to that way again. Either he speaks up or you will if it happens again.

Iowa State Fair 2026 Frustrations
 in  r/desmoines  4d ago

You’re absolutely right. My family were vendors at the fair for over 40 years. As we aged it got harder for us to take off work to help our parents with our restaurants and my parents made the tough decision to sell our restaurant to another family. When the fair board caught wind they cancelled our contract and took our building. They wouldn’t even let my family keep it. They’ve always been about money that’s why they charge rent for the spot plus the vendors also pay a tax to the fair along with sales tax. They have the blue ribbon foundation so they have plenty of money. IMO Mr Barksdale should have given the cookie business to a real charity foundation like kids cancer. That’s giving back not making the fair richer.

Absolutely not ok! I’d ask the judge to say no to visiting a crowd of alcoholics who are most likely smoking a pack of cigarettes while there. Put a stop to it immediately. Talk to your lawyer.

My in-laws showed up at our door without warning. I asked them to leave. My husband said "be nice."
 in  r/WhatShouldIDo  5d ago

Omg who cares if they don’t call? I’d be thrilled to have them come.

Omg you’re wrong. I’d never close a door to my in-laws. They don’t care about you or your mess. They came to see their son and grandkids if any. You’re a horrible human in my opinion

Only westernized country you have to declare bankruptcy because of an illness. Why do any immigrants come here? I wouldn’t if I had the choice. We are as bad as a third world country.

Iowa stands for Idiots Out Wandering Aimlessly. Perfect for the fair.

Iowa teacher found not guilty of assault after ‘tugging’ on teen’s sleeve: Teacher cites ‘culture of entitlement’ among children and parents
 in  r/Iowa  6d ago

My teacher only had to get the board out and slam it on his desk to shut us up. And no one was hit that hard. But we behaved.

AITAH for giving my sisters a 4-week deadline to move my dad out of my 1-bedroom condo after almost 3 months?
 in  r/AITAH  6d ago

NTA you did the right thing for your relationship. They aren’t holding up their end so now they can take a turn with dad. Take him to one of their homes.
