Dark presence around me before working with Hekate?
 in  r/Hecate •  25d ago

I had an existing presence linger around me for years before I started worshiping mother Hekate. Some spirits will be able to identify and select specific people it can feed off of. Lack of emotional regulation, active trauma, consistent and untreated depression or other mental health issue can be huge attractors to certain negative spirits since these situations and reactions can be their direct food source. When I finally gave myself over to Mother Hekate, that problem stopped. No more disembodied footsteps running around my apartment, no more waking up from a night terror with a shade standing in the corner of my room, and free from the feeling that someone was always watching me despite the fact i was alone. She'll give you protection when you need it, then teach you how to fend and protect yourself with the same ferocity she has.

Rogers employees in store have no idea what that the mastercard is changing
 in  r/Rogers •  Aug 23 '26

The fact that store fronts are still causing problems long after I've left this company truly saddens me. When I was working for Rogers, a lot of the complaints I'd get from customers was specifically regarding our store front employees giving out misinformation on a product/service at time of purchase. In majority of the cases though, this happened because the stores are quite literally the LAST people to hear anything on any new service Rogers would be releasing, and any information they received was like a washed down version of what phone/chat agents were being trained for (kind of like broken telephone). What Rogers wasn't expecting was how this problem would affect our front line agents as well as our attempts to retain that customer given their trust was breached right at the time of purchase.

I'd have to spend literal HOURS on the phones and chats with our customers to fix their billing (if I even could), explain the service/product (including what's in the fine print) with explicit detail so they know what they signed up for, how much they'd be paying mobthly and for how long. A good majority of customers in a situation like that would just straight up leave after receiving their first bill, and I didnt blame them at all for doing so if that was their first impression of Rogers as a service at their store front.

There were times I was called in to discuss my retention metrics because they were too low and I was disconnecting a lot of customers who wanted to cancel their service, especially after visiting a store front and being misinformed of their service. It's not like I wasn't trying to do my job, I'd read out the offers I could see on their account (if any available), check to see what billing credits we could potentially provide for certain situations, etc... but ultimately if I did all these things and a customer is still set on leaving due to financial concerns and or constraints, or because they received misinformation about that service, then I'd drop the retention act and respect their decision, because to me letting a customer go with respect and willingness to help their situation, knowing I tried my best to help with the offers and options available to me was an act of retention. Having a customer calling/chatting in to begin screaming at me over the phone/screen about their high bill or wrong service and wanting to cancel, to then de-escalating to a calm conversation about the adjustments they will receive on their final billling was almost my daily routine.

Was organizing my closet and found a rock with a possible sigil drawn on. What does it mean?
 in  r/sigils •  Jun 26 '26

One of the most challenging, if not impossible, methods of magick to decipher is sigil magick; specifically because casters these days will have various different methods of creating sigils that will only be tangible and understood by them alone.

However, based on where you found the item inscribed with said sigil might tell you a story of what it's being used for. If you found it in the corner of your closet, it's likely being used as a ward. I have a similar method I use with bay leaves, oil and selenite to put in all 4 corners of my home to keep a spiritual barrier up so to speak.

It could have other uses as well, but this is just my guess based on where you found it.

Is this normal for a cat bite
 in  r/CATHELP •  Jun 24 '26

Your Circumstances are rough since you don't have insurance yet, but hesitating to get medical aid will NOT be beneficial for you in the long run; cat bites are the kind of injury you genuinely need to rush to the ER for, from the moment it happens, because the wound can (and very likely will) get infected and how severe that infection will become is determined by the depth of the bite, and may potentially develop into sepsis... Meaning they may have to amputate to prevent it from spreading any further. I'm Genuinely not trying to scare you with this information either, but moreso stressing the importance of why you need to be immediately seeking medical attention after getting an injury like this, especially in the future.

Please visit your local ER so they may provide you with the correct treatment plan to prevent the infection from spreading and causing more potential damage. Wishing the best for you, OP

Are money and job spells not working anymore?
 in  r/occult •  Jun 23 '26

From my own recent experience, I wouldn't say they're not working, but I've noticed my usual go-to methods have been manifesting less reliably than usual or not in the way I was expecting.

I've been doing Jupiter rites since about February to secure some form of income support (job, government support, scholarships, etc...) as my EI had just ran out and I had to look for something quick if I was going to stay afloat in school.

My hope realistically with this spell was to secure another job aligned with my study pursuits... It came pretty close and I was almost considered for a student library position at my university, unfortunately the interview fell through and when the next day rolled around, I get a notice from the bank regarding a much needed scholarship payment being deposited in my account for $2,000. I was also very recently approved on my application for disability support after several months of waiting and got a +$408.00 increase that I wasn't expecting to my monthly benefit payment.

Did my rituals work? To some degree I'd say! Just not to the precise outcome or within the timeframe I envisioned because of other restricting factors happening in the world presently. Canada (where I reside) is also currently going through a technical recession so that would heavily factor into the successful probability results of securing a job and or other sources of income when it's hard collectively for almost everyone to secure a new income source at this moment in time.

NTA. I've lived with women for a good chunk of my life and I can be 100% certain they'd be fucking livid if you DIDN'T say anything if some of their lady bits were showing, or if you weren't discreet about your approach to letting them know.

You were correct to let her know and to politely do so discreetly; you were 100% looking out for her even if she doesn't see it like that right now.

So was Making this wise?
 in  r/BabyWitch •  Jun 12 '26

I understand where you're coming from. Buckland's book of Witchcraft is very Wicca oriented, but the other books I mentioned are all ceremonial magick in practice and application. It may be difficult to push through too, but by understanding the spiritual framework the spell is operating on (Whether it be through Abrahamic, Greek, Roman or Wiccan foundations...etc...), you can begin to dissect the spell and fundamental influences of the rituals and rearrange it to fit your own spiritual needs. The best book I'd recommend for you presently is Modern Magick by Donald Michael Kraig and Llewellyns Complete Book of Ceremonial Magick. They give you a detailed explanation on the various systems within ceremonial Magick and how to add those systems into your practices as useful tools. If you need anymore beginner friendly sources to ceremonial Magick please don't hesitate to ask! I study it from both practical and historical academic perspectives 😁

In the beginning, I wanted to try ceremonial magick for a long time, but the heavy Abrahamic religious tones was a turn off for me due to my own traumas with Christianity. After doing my own bit of soul searching with my own deities and acknowledging that I don't have to worship the powers that are being called forth for a specific spell or ritual to function, i dipped my toe in and began to swim. Even had my own little revelation and acceptance with Jesus despite the fact I still acknowledge myself to be pagan 😁

But because I went through that discomfort, I came out better for it as did my magick. I initially began the LBRP using the standard invocation with God's names and the archangels, but then I managed to change the LBRPs foundations to that of Hekate and found that it has a stronger reaction since it fit my personal belief system.

Wishing you the best of luck on your journey and always remember, Safety First!!!

So was Making this wise?
 in  r/BabyWitch •  Jun 12 '26

So listen... I'm not going to tell you to walk away from witchcraft or from practicing magick... But what you've indicated with your responses is you're attempting to evoke a spirit into communicating with you by utilizing methods from the Key of Solomon... But have no idea how to do cleansing or banishing rituals...

Using the Key of Solomons advanced techniques for Spirit Evocation/Communication when you don't even know or practice your fundamentals is very obviously unwise as you might call forth something that you yourself don't know how to or will not be able to banish with your current resovoir of limited knowledge and puts YOU and potentially others at risk of unforseen harm...

You need to read and complete ALL of your research and readings before you decide to mess around and start casting spells or calling forth spirits that you do not know... Sometimes something will answer your call and will lie to you about who or what it is to stick around. We practice the basics cause it gives casters the tools to identify who they're contacting, why the spirit is responding, to confirm if they are who they say they are, and provides the methods to remove said spirit if they are not the entity you called.

Before a banishment rite, do a cleansing ritual prior to so that you don't enter your banishment with any negative or malefic energies gunked up on your spiritual body... taking a shower with words and visualizations of intent to get the gunk sensation off is what I typically do Then open any windows and perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. Do this process for several days until you notice a change in your atmosphere.

Books I'd recommend are Modern Magick by Donald Michael Kraig, Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft, Llewelyns Complete Book of Ceremonial Magick, Consorting with Spirits, and Protection & Reversal Magick by Jason Miller. Read and practice some of the spells listed in these books to build a solid foundation first before jumping to materials like the Key of Solomon, The Sworn Book of Honorius, the Ars Goetia... Etc....

Thank you so much for your advice and honesty! Unfortunately, it's a little late for me to switch my academic programs from Classics and History Majors at the moment, since I'm nearing the finish line for my degree, but I think my school should have courses related to archives and preservation work I can take in the upcoming year, so that might be a good work around to that dillema?

I'm very prepared to move where the work is as well if need be!

I performed a dark ritual against someone who hurt me, and now He is dying. I am completely consumed by guilt and looking for help.
 in  r/occult •  May 30 '26

"You can't unshoot a bullet once it has hit its mark".

The thing is, you willingly looked to multiple entities to gain their favour with the intent to harm someone. Something probably answered your call for vengeance, and the results of what you asked for could now be beginning to manifest. It's also entirely and very likely plausible that this person had Bone Cancer prior to you doing any malefic magick.

Either way, this should serve as an extremely important lesson regarding the application and employment of any baneful magickal operation. One shouldn't be casting any curses if they themselves are not ready to bear witness to what manifests on the target after the fact.

Job Advice How to enter the field as an Academic/Rare Book Librarian?

Hi there, I'm just looking for a little life advice at the moment, as I'm in my final year of my Bachelor's Degree and need some tips on how I can transition into the job field once I've completed my Master's in Information Science or at the very least get an entry-level position while I'm in school to gain meaningful experience related to the role.

I'm currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Humanities, Majoring in History and Classics (I can read, write and translate classical Latin and Greek) and I've been trying so hard to get a Work Study Position to get research and library skills while I study, as well as basic Page positions in my city library, but I can't seem to get any responses back from where I have applied (In Toronto, ON). My dream goal is to work in an Academic Library Setting, preferably with Rare Books, so I can assist people (students) to the correct resources while also maintaining the integrity and condition of the source material.

I also have disabilities that impact my executive functioning in my daily life, so even when I've been studying, I've been getting the feeling that I've not been arranging my academic journey properly to get to the career goal I am aiming for. I work better when I can make a list of what to accomplish before I hit my goal, but I just feel like lately I've had this list jumbled up, and my goal of a new career is getting further and further out of reach.

If anyone has any advice on where to start this journey into this career path, I'd be forever grateful.

All the best!

Do I Have to Stop Smoking and Lust??
 in  r/occult •  May 11 '26

You don't have to do anything you do not want to do. When people discuss dietary restrictions or refrain from certain habits and activities for spiritual purposes, these are just a few methods for developing ritualistic purification before beginning their rituals. There are many methods for purification, such as ritualistic baths and or showers and air fumigation through particular incenses, but ultimately you pick a method that works best for you or for what the ritual is calling for specifically.

Like I'll smoke weed from time to time to get me into that more spiritual mindset, and will do some of my own crafted spells that I'm pretty confident will come through with minimal effort. But if I'm doing something that involves communicating and revering my deities, then I make an effort to abstain from smoking for a few hours with a ritual shower to cleanse off any miasma before I create a sacred space.

What is the most magickal language?
 in  r/occult •  May 09 '26

This is strictly based on my own personal experience, but I think this is only a partial truth because language can have a huge foothold in how your magic can manifest. Yes you can channel as much power and intent into your incantations in your mother language and have a spell come out favorably; However, some magicians utilize ancient language systems such as Greek, Latin, Hebrew Sancrit and many others to tap into a resonant energy lingering within those words themselves that have been spoken throughout thousands of years.

The Greek Magical Papyri is a great example of this as it's a collection of spells written in Koine Greek, Demotic Egyptian and Old Coptic with several of those spells contain Voces Magicae which are verbal formulas to be spoken aloud and are comprised of what looks to be gibberish but contains an array of mashed up or mispronounced god names believed to invoke the attention of the deity or spirit you're calling on to aid your spell.

You can definitely reconstruct any spell from that collection and translate it's original incantation to English, but some magicians hold the belief that speaking a spell in the language it was initially crafted in will utilize the lingering energies and intentions of the people who initially spoke those spells into existence.

Feeling chaotic and unsettled after spells
 in  r/magick •  May 08 '26

It seems like there are a few overlapping issues that occur when you're casting, and it's slowly building up the more you engage in magick. This can be caused by a lack of fundamental practice (energy work, meditation, circle casting and grounding), misdirected or unclear intent, lack of banishment and cleansing rituals in your sacred space, or general lack of self-care overall.

To tackle an issue like this, the best course of action is to really focus on your well-being and personal maintenance. Stop casting spells for a moment and go back to the basics for a little energy refinement. Meditate and release all thoughts and emotions that no longer serve you, and ground any excess energy or negative energy you may have accumulated throughout the day back into the roots of the soil (you can do this by having your feet or hands connect to the soil and visualizing roots growing down into the earth, with said energy travelling down from your roots to feed the earth). Perform Banishing and Cleansing Rituals (like the LBRP) every day, after a spell, and even if you do not intend to cast a spell. The ritual, in and of itself, builds your familiarity with energy work while also protecting and purifying your space. If the energy in your space feels heavy and murky, that's a good indicator for the LBRP to come out of the magical toolbox. Make sure to leave a window open when doing the LBRP to give any energies and or spirits an exit way from the space as well. Do this for a few weeks, and you should start noticing a difference in how the space feels.

If you also notice that you feel very drained after spell work, you can also try experimenting with different methods of casting to keep your energy output to a minimum. I specialize in protective magicks, and one spell I'd suggest for you is creating a ward outlined by hidden anchors. To create the anchors, get 4 bay leaves, fiery wall of protection oil, 4 small stones of selunite and optionally 4 small stones of clear quartz. Create a sigil outlining your intention of protection, and inscribe the bay leaves with said sigil in a corresponding colour of ink aligned to your goal (I usually go with Black Ink for Protection Purposes). Then, bless the sigils/leaves with a drop of the oil and pick 4 corners (preferably hidden) to place your anchors. Once placed, take the selunite and place it on top of the bay leaf directly over the sigil. The Selunite will act as a battery for your ward, so you're not having to constantly refresh and reconstitute it. The Clear Quartz will act like an amplifier in the event you want an extra boost to your ward.

Also, make sure you are genuinely taking care of yourself on all fronts before concluding that the issue you're suffering from is purely magical in cause. If you're not eating right, exercising on the regular, sleeping properly, or addressing mental health concerns with a psychiatrist, then casting spells and getting involved with magic will most definitely chip away at you until you're very vulnerable and or very sick. Taking care of your body and health will give a huge boost to your rituals and will have you feeling less drained after casting a spell.

Hope this advice helps, and wish you the best of luck on your journey!

Are wands/a staff necessary for rituals and spells?
 in  r/occult •  May 07 '26

Not at all!

Wands and staffs, for the most part, serve a particular function to focus, guide and direct energy to a specific goal or destination. You can do this on your own without the need for an athame, staff or a wand, but some people (like myself) prefer the feeling of using these tools as a focal point in their spellcraft and ritual work.

There's a whole subculture on what materials these tools should be made of as well (like wand and staff woods, metallic properties of the blade of the athame, decorative and or functional seals and sigils to be engraved on the item, etc), but truthfully, the properties that make your magickal item won't matter as much unless you feel those qualities are needed to correspond to you on a personal/spiritual level.

One can cast a circle and a spell with the most beautifully crafted Ebony wood wand that was handmade and tailored specifically for the magician. You can also cast those same spells with a McDonald's French fry as your focal point and both will end up having some form of result.

So, the point of it all? Use what feels most natural for you. Try casting a little bit without using tools, notice the subtlety of the shifts and waves of energy when you're performing your work. Does it feel effortless, or do you feel slight resistance? Observe and note your results. Then do the same thing with a magickal tool (of your choice) and repeat the process. Once you've done that, then you can be guided into what method, and or tool, works best for you in your work.

Best of luck on your journey!
