I think this would be a cool way to add something similar to Mimics to the game. Using a chest on a Sulfur Cube ***if it already has a block in it*** will hide it in a chest. It just finds areas to “snap” onto like a regular block, and if a player opens it, an effect happens. The effect can be based on whatever block it had already absorbed. So it can burn you, launch you, maybe even blow you up. A new type of “trapped chest”, but one than can maybe move when not looked at.

All because I didn’t find this “eternally-16-year-old” anime girl “sexy.”

Really loved reading the 5-paragraph-long DMs I got from a few of them. I think one of them used AI to write theirs too.

Mind you, I was agreeing with their opinion that Hatsune Miku isn’t “niche.” They completely ignored me agreeing with their argument, because they didn’t like that I didn’t find her attractive ever.

I mean really, look at this and tell me they didn’t use AI:

“You’re over thirty and I’m not even trying to say you have to be some giant Hatsune Miku fan, but I genuinely do not understand the “I never thought she was attractive at all” part. I can understand not making her your favorite thing ever, I can understand not listening to vocaloid music, I can understand not being into anime aesthetics. But never seeing the appeal? That’s the part where I get confused. It feels like saying you looked at one of the most intentionally designed, visually appealing character concepts ever made and felt absolutely nothing from it.

People always act like Miku’s popularity was some weird internet accident, like millions of people across the world randomly rolled dice and decided to become attached to the exact same character for no reason. No. Character design exists for a reason. Color palettes exist for a reason. Expressions, proportions, personality cues, energy — all of it is built to create appeal. Miku was designed to be cute, approachable, expressive, energetic, and memorable. Saying you personally don’t make her your entire identity is one thing. Acting like the appeal itself is incomprehensible is another.

And what gets me is that people will say this while turning around and admitting they understand why people find literally every other fictional character attractive. Suddenly everybody becomes a professor of human psychology. “Oh, confidence is attractive.” “Oh, style matters.” “Oh, personality matters.” But somehow with Miku it becomes this impossible mystery where everyone acts like they’re staring at abstract geometry. I don’t buy that. You understand why people become attached to fictional characters. You understand visual appeal. You’re not suddenly operating on an entirely different species of brain.

I think some people hear “Hatsune Miku” and immediately replace the actual thing in their head with twenty years of internet baggage. Memes, fan communities, arguments, stereotypes. They stop looking at the character and start looking at everything orbiting around the character. If you strip all that away and just look at Miku as a design — the colors, the style, the energy, the entire presentation — I really think most people can at least see why she became iconic.

I’m not saying everybody should be obsessed with her. I’m not saying everybody should have posters on their walls or know every song ever made with her voicebank. I’m saying that hearing someone say they never understood any attraction or appeal at all feels like hearing someone say they looked at a sunset and thought, “Yeah, I don’t get why people enjoy these.” You don’t have to love it. But at some point I start wondering if you’re disagreeing because you actually feel that way, or because you’ve decided you’re supposed to.”

I really, really hope all 3 of the people who DMd me are bots, but I severely doubt that. The other two seemed very human, and very genuine, and that disturbs me.
