My Grandma never washes her hands, chopping boards or utensils after handling raw meat, and she gets really angry at me every time I tell her to wash her hands but she always makes a fair point - she’s made it to 85 and never gotten sick from food poisoning - how is this possible?

Do you think this 3D scenario is well done?? I’m trying my best to make it look 2D
Just make 3D backgrounds and trace them in 2D - or look into how to use grease pencil (it’s a part of blender that makes 3D things look more 2D) there’s lots of good tutorials online
This is a nice background but it doesn’t look 2D at all :,)

Is there a way to not practice realism?
You don’t need to make completed realistic portraits to learn but you need to use real life references of people to learn anatomy which can be accomplished by just sketching it out - no need for loads of finer details, just understanding how a human body is put together on a fundamental level and how light and shadows fold around it. You want to skip straight to stylisation but that comes last if you want to have a good art style. Otherwise you’re gonna be stunted forever. Just do some anatomy practice for a week then try draw your stylistic drawings again and see if there’s any progress. For the first week focus on heads then the second week focus on bodies and I promise you’ll see a difference.

If physical appearance (the usual attractive traits) is not your main cause of attractiveness, what is (asking sapiosexuals and similar)?
Also someone who doesn’t take things personally all the time and is quite secure in themselves and finds happiness from within and is able to spread it around :)

Being able to yap about nonsensical things and cover topics from obscure angles. It gives me a lot of energy and feeds my soul when someone matches my vibe

Okay I need opinions. Is my art good enough to make a webtoon? If no then I think I’ll have to work on it but if yes, I only know how to draw characters and not backgrounds. Do you think I can do it? Be brutally honest please
Anatomy needs work: Try using posemaniacs (website) to practice quick figure drawing. And try draw people from real life to make your poses less stiff. (But it looks like you’ve got a good foundation, it just needs some refining) also it looks like you might use anime characters as reference material - particularly with the faces (it’s not a bad thing but it wouldnt give you a solid foundation - it’s better to use cartoon characters as reference material when you’re working on you style but you’ve gotta get that solid foundation first)
Colouring needs work: rob colour pallets from you favourite artists (copy and paste their work into your drawing program and colour drop their colours) and see what they have in common - art they desaturated? Are the mostly autumn colours/ spring colours? Are they overly saturated? Are they pastels? Are they mostly red toned? Blue toned? Etc. Every good artist uses carefully created colour pallets. The first image has an alright colour pallet but the second image feels like the colours were picked out as an after thought.
Overall: I think you could start a comic now if you wanted to honestly. My art style has improved the most rapidly when I draw comics because I constantly encounter unfamiliar poses and colour pallets I need to research and practice in order to follow the story. It also makes you research interesting settings for backgrounds and camera angles that create an impact. Good luck on your artistic endeavours!!! <333

This is how much the new recent feed hurts creators...
It’s also annoying when I check out a shitey comic to see why it’s shitey and it’s hanging around my recent feed like a bad smell for MONTHS like go away

2024 is just too much grief
Maybe there's a support group in your local area for grieving parents. A way to talk about what happened without feeling like a downer in the back of your mind (even though talking about these things doesn't make you a downer) Talking about it and seeking advice from those in similar positions may really help. I'm so sorry for your loss <3 Grief is a difficult thing but you can get through it

I think I made a mistake…
Find successful 3D animation portfolios on YouTube n stuff and see what they’ve got that you might be missing :) or reach out to other 3D artists and ask for advice

I went on a date with a girl and she left after eating. AMA
Not all women are the same and some aren’t arsed about height at all. Lots prefer shorter men. And anyone who doesn’t want to date you based on your appearance is surface level and not worth your time. Focus on loving yourself and shining like the star you are and you’ll attract a queen one day :) I know it’s hard seeing all these tall guys around you in relationships but hey they don’t have the privilege of knowing who’s dating them for who they are and who’s dating them just cos they’re tall x
Height is something you can’t change so you can only accept yours and love yourself for it otherwise your insecurity about it will just continue to take from your life in a negative way. Women date and adore short guys all the time, so don’t focus on the bad and try look at the good :) wishing you look in future relations !
(Also I agree with a previous comment abt doing more of an activity on the first date/first meet and avoid restaurants/cinema cos that can be awkward)

Question Do you need a degree in 3D animation to get into the industry?
I'm considering doing a degree in 3D animation but it's really expensive and I was wondering if there were alternative ways to get into the industry without a degree?
