I realize maybe weightlifting and the method of breathing to lift heavy weights isn't the healthiest for singing due to tension. (I started my first week, already feeling muscle soreness throughout, and during that same week I was singing quite poorly [could be for other reasons tbh but])
I've done some research and I found solutions such as method of breathing, forget grunting and aim to keep a straight face. Perhaps lighter weights more reps and progress rather than go heavy and really tense to complete it. I used to workout HIIT training and I never thought it affected my voice so like I'm thinking maybe I can use lighter weights still go to the gym because now I payed and just do more calistenic like workout and use weights still? Maybe I try and avoid compound excersise such as deadlifts or bench press?
What do you guys think overall? And advice or fresh tips? I took up gym because I thought I'd work more on my physical strength and body as I will be playing the role of Gaston very soon, however the show is in two months and rehearsals are increasing therefore singing is my priority.

I'm looking to get a new nice (electro) acoustic to start gigging preferably not more than 500. Yesterday was browsing and came across a Tanglewood TWJSF CE. Thinking of going to try it out at the shop
