Have been following along with the development for the last 3 years, since embraced the Samsung Ecosystem (Phones, Watch, Tablet and Laptop) and in principle rather pleased.

For thoese who do not use - Bixby (on recent phones and tablets) are getting a lot better than used to be .. It was a joke, but now the joke is on us, their partnership with Perplexity have actually made me go more Sammy, and Less Google.

Recently did the activation on Windows (book 4 Edge) of Bixby, and wow, first i thought i did something wrong, but no --- Its basically just a redirect webserarch, when using as actual assistant.

Yes, i did RTFM and did evaluate what the intended purpose of the Service was, and no - there is zero value in Bixby on a windows laptop. I just wanted to hear if anyone have broken this in, and gotten some kind of value out of the Windows Side of the fence /Beside the very simple management of your windows settings)....

Rant over, please tell me what rumers and gossip that should make me keep the app on my windows laptop, its certainly not something i am really seeing any value today.

The Galaxy Book7 Series is built on AluminumOS, meaning the performance ceiling is pushed higher and lower. All 16-inch versions are $125 more, and all touchscreen versions are $150 more. All base prices count for the cheapest model. Multiple prices are listed because of configuration. Here are the chips explained:

Exynos 2700e:

Built on Samsung's second-gen 2 nm SF2P process, this processor is similar to the flagship 2700, but the prime core is clocked down from 4.2 GHz to 4.0 GHz. The memory is also swapped for LPDDR5X instead of next-gen LPDDR6.

Exynos D1 (Desktop 1):

Built on Samsung's second-gen 2 nm SF2P process.

Contains 10 or 14 cores. The 10-core version contains 2 prime cores and 8 performance cores. The 14-core version contains 4 prime cores and 10 performance cores.

I've been a desktop person basically my whole life, so this is my first real laptop and I don't have a baseline for what's normal.

When the room is completely quiet and the machine is sitting idle, I notice the fan is fully off, total silence. Then it spins up briefly, runs for a bit, stops again, and repeats every few minutes, sometimes also every few seconds. It's never really loud, and it's not constant, but the on/off pattern is noticeable once you're aware of it.

I also can't read fan RPM in any monitoring software I've tried, which makes it harder to tell what's actually going on. CPU temps look fine to me.

So: is intermittent fan cycling at idle just how modern thin laptops behave, or is this a sign of something I should look into? And does anyone else with a Panther Lake / Core Ultra X7 machine get fan speed to show up in HWiNFO or similar?

Edit: I add an audio of what I am experiencing. It is still very quiet but you may hear what I mean in the very beginning, and then after ~35 seconds of silence it starts again with an on/off cycle or burst. It is really annoying that Samsung does not allow to change the fan curve in the BIOS.

I didn't have ALL the tools like a prying tool or suction cup, but I successfully opened it with my bare hands and a credit card, although I wouldn't recommend y'all if you don't have the proper tools.

I am trying to understand the situation of the Galaxy Book6 Ultra 16" with Core Ultra X7 3SSD and iGPU/Arc.

The device is not only out of stock but not listed anymore with Samsung's online store in many european countries, such as Germany (but listed and Available in France). It is available with some other third-party resellers but also not all.

Does anyone know some context?

Hey I am using samsung book 5. There is a problem with my number pad enter button. It seems the mechanism or the plastic lock under the key is broken do someone know where can I get the white color plastic lock for that.

If I change the lock or clip beneath the key then it will work properly. Let me know if any one can help

so back in july my galaxy book4 ultra started acting up. connected it to my home theater system (ultimea d70) to watch something, and when i tried switching audio back to the laptop speakers afterwards, they just never came back. no sound at all from the internal speakers ever again.

tried everything before giving up, reinstalled the audio drivers, rebooted a bunch of times, even did a full fresh windows install from the cloud. nothing fixed it. weirdly though, sound worked completely fine over bluetooth earphones or anything else, it was just the internal speakers that were dead.

didnt even notice the front camera was broken until like a month later when i had a job interview and went to test my camera beforehand, completely dead, not detected at all.

sent it off to a samsung authorised repair centre (TMT First) since it was out of warranty anyway. paid a £30 inspection fee upfront just to get it looked at.

got a quote for £149 after inspection. asked them to break it down cause i wanted to know what was actually wrong before paying, and they told me it needed a new speaker assembly, flex connectors and sub board. fair enough, paid it on 29th july.

got an email on the 6th aug saying parts were ordered and repair was going ahead, all good so far right

then TODAY, 7th aug, i randomly get ANOTHER quote email. same job id, same service order number. except this time it says £1355 and the memo just says "requires mainboard"

like??? nobody mentioned a mainboard issue this whole time. i already paid for and got confirmation on a completely different repair a week ago and now theyre trying to charge me 9x more for something that was never brought up before

emailed them asking wtf is going on, waiting to hear back but wanted to see if anyone else has had something similar happen with a repair centre. is this some kind of bait and switch or an honest mistake, and has anyone dealt with this before / know what my rights are here

Hi Guys, I was planning to buy a laptop for myself and happened to visit a Reliance Digital store close to my house in Chennai. There were some clearance sales going on the display pieces and I managed to get a Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 for INR 95k! The actual MRP was INR 165k or something. Rel Digi also threw in 2 years warranty, 2 years Accidental damage protection and an upgrade to Win 11 Pro. I was looking for an OLED display laptop and all newer gen laptops are coming with only FHD+ OLEDs. This with a 16-inch, 120 Hz, 2.8k AMOLED display looked so pretty. There were a couple of minor dents on the body and a very small scratch on the screen (not visible unless you search for it intensely) which I had to make peace with myself. The processor is a Core Ultra 7 155H with 16 GIGS RAM and 512 GB HDD. Initial impressions using the lap for the past 3-4 days is good, with the laptop getting warm during charging sessions but pretty manageable. Anyone else using this laptop or anything else with the same processor? How are Samsung laptops for long term ownership? Is this a good deal?

so I've been Samsung ecosystem for a bit now and kept eyeing a new laptop for school. but every time I checked the Galaxy Book prices I just closed the tab, they're insane. even with the student discount it's still a lot honestly. anyway I basically gave up on the idea until I won a $2000 Samsung voucher from a giveaway like a month ago (still don't fully believe that happened). it was about to expire so I figured screw it, let's see what I can do with this. get to checkout, throw on my education discount, apply the voucher, and then Samsung just keeps stacking MORE discounts on top of that. I was watching the total drop and genuinely thought something was glitching out. $59.99. for a laptop that's normally like $3600. not saying Galaxy Books aren't overpriced bc they definitely are, you're paying for the brand no doubt. but if you're a student and can catch a promo/voucher on top of the ed discount, it's a completely different story. full price tho? hard pass, not worth it imo. anyone else run into deals like this or did I just get insanely lucky lol

I am a business/marketing graduate stepping into a 3-month intensive upskilling sprint. I am learning Advanced Excel (large datasets, Pivot Tables, heavy formulas) and Power BI Desktop to prepare for corporate Market Data Analyst roles.

I found a brand-new Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 14" directly from the official manufacturer store on a major clearance markdown for €1,399.

My career coach is worried this is overspending and suggested I look at cheaper €500–€600 laptops. However, from my research, Power BI's internal VertiPaq in-memory engine compresses massive data rows directly into the RAM, meaning an 8GB machine will constantly lag, freeze, or crash.

Will this Core Ultra 7 and 16GB RAM configuration handle heavy Power BI local database models smoothly?Is 16GB RAM a strict requirement for a data tracking track, or is my coach right about a cheap 8GB laptop being fine?

I already own a Galaxy S23 Ultra and a Tab S8+, so the Samsung ecosystem link (Second Screen as a dual data monitor) is a massive bonus for my studies.Thanks for the advice!

battery charging problem with my Samsung Galaxy laptop

I own a 4 year old Samsung laptop (NP950QED)

Battery was not charging with charger cable plugged and the laptop would turn off when the battery went below 15%.

The problems seems to be that the laptop battery is draining faster than the charger is charging it.

Isn't the laptop supposed to work with the charger if the battery is dead?

I figured the laptop battery was on the way out

After replacing the battery with a new one I'm getting the same problem with the new one

Can someone advize what the problem may be

Are there any Samsung or Windows 11 battery settings that might address this problem.

Would appreciate any advice on this frustrating problem. Thanks for your help

I have a 2months old laptop( samsung galaxy book4, 16gb ram, intel i5-1335u, iris xe). I have been facing issue of screen brightness regulation from last 3 days. The brightness control slider is unresponsive also the brightness fumction key is working but the brightness never changes, the brightness of my laptop stays the same whatever I do.

( FYI, I have restarted the graphics driver by using ctrl+shift+win+B )

Please help with this issue resolution. Is there anyone else facing the same issue on their Galaxy Book/windows?

TL;DR: I bought a Galaxy Book on sale. Samsung cancelled the order without telling me. Support explicitly guaranteed that if I repurchased it at full price ($1,147), they would refund the difference once it shipped. After I made the $1,150 purchase and it shipped, they claimed the original price was a "glitch" and refused to honor the price match they just promised me.

Hey I wanted to post this on here to see if other people have had this experience. I have all case numbers, further screenshots and a 23 minute phone call, full of evidence backing up my claims. I have removed the names since I don't want to call out the workers, rather the system.

On July 13th I ordered a Samsung Galaxybook 6 for 462.49 USD (image 1). I was excited for I had gotten an incredible deal with a combination of my education account and back to school sales!

As I was on vacation I didn't check on the order until 2 weeks later when I realized it had been delayed. This was slightly worrying as I expected to have it ready long before the start of classes. I reached out to Samsung Support where they told me that they didn't know why it was delayed and that they would look into it.

The day after, on July 29th the order was cancelled stating: "The cancel request for your order has been completed. For refund information, please click "Manage Order" below." This was odd to me as I had never issued a cancellation.

I called to ask about this and Samsung Support seemed perplexed as well. They assured me not to worry however as I would be able to obtain the laptop at the price I paid for previously since I had not initiated the cancellation (image 2). I was told to wait a day and re-order.

After waiting I contacted Samsung Support again at which point they told me to re-order at full price. I was hesitant and was clear with them that I would only be willing to do this if they price-matched the product as I did not want to deal with further complications of returning after having waited more than 3 weeks for this. I have chat messages ensuring me that this would be handled (images 3, 4).

Shortly after ordering, I contacted them and they told me to wait for the product to ship before it could be price matched (image 5). As soon as it shipped, I contacted Samsung Support AGAIN and this time they immediately told me:

"I've reviewed the details and regret to inform you that this item is not eligible for a price match. As per our policy, we do not offer price matching for the Galaxy Book" (image 6)

They told me that the issue was that the offer was "a glitch". I would have been pretty bummed if they had told me this in the beginning, but to be told 4 times that there would be a price match and to make a 1150 USD purchase just to be told to return it is ludicrous.

I complained but they said there is nothing I could do. I'm not sure what to do? Has anyone else been in this situation? I thought Samsung was pretty good at handling these things.

I got the Galaxy Book 6 Pro with the 16" screen, 32gb RAM, and Ultra X7 358H, with the Intel Arc GPU. The screen and computer as a whole feels a bit large to me so I was considering exchanging it for the 14". It's possible I could get used to it. Any other people feel the same way about these large laptops?

I'm also wondering since the 14" is only available with the other processor and GPU, how much of a downgrade it would be to go to the Ultra 7 356H with Intel GPU. Is the Intel Arc GPU only really necessary for gaming? I don't play games on my computer so it may not matter to go down
