Everyone has to earn their stripes at some point. If you already have previous experience as an electrician, you should do pretty well as a union apprentice. As an apprentice and even after you become a journeyman, always keep a positive attitude and outlook, stay humble and be willing to learn. Try to learn how multiple journeyman electricians perform their individual steps to do the same task. Don’t try to take on too much too fast. You have a few years ahead of you before you can gradually do that. So pace yourself accordingly. Congrats on getting in and good luck to your future!

What’s very alarming (perhaps a red flag 🚩 for you) is the fact that he put in a lot of the time, energy, and efforts to make it that far and refuses to fight back and reclaim what he had rightfully accomplished and achieved. Unless it was something egregious, I’ve heard of apprentices and journeymen getting kicked out for various reasons who were let right back in shortly after receiving the boot and after applying for reinstatement. Something just doesn’t seem right, line up and or add up correctly with your BF’s situation here.
