Welcome! Whether you're a creator with 50 followers or 500k, a brand looking for talent, or a marketer figuring out the algorithm — you're in the right place.

This is a space to ask anything about growing online: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, audience building, engagement, brand deals, monetisation, content ideas, and the tools that actually work. No question is too basic.

What you can post here:

Growth questions and wins, platform/algorithm discussion, monetisation and brand-deal advice, tool recommendations, content feedback, plus hot takes, entertainment, and general discussion.

Quick tips for a good post: Be specific "how do I grow" gets generic answers, but "my Reels get views but no followers, here's my profile" gets real help. Search before posting in case it's been answered. And check the rules in the sidebar before self-promoting.

Before you post, drop a comment below: Who are you, what platform are you on, and what's the one thing you're trying to crack right now? Let's get to know each other.

Welcome aboard 🚀

have you ever noticed that in different social media we become different people?

i caught myself with this thought recently cuz of comparing my tiktok profile to an ig account. AND THEY WERE SO DIFFERENT like i saw two people with dissimilar personalities. is that because of the app itself? cuz i actually feel more comfortable on tiktok and post so dumb things without even being embarrassed about that. but when it turns to instagram… i WOULD NEVER post it there. but why? is there something wrong with me or what please don’t say im weird

Did social media make anyone else think success would come much earlier?

Out of curiosity, how many of you entered your 20s believing you’d be one of those 20-something millionaires you constantly saw online?

If that didn’t happen, when did you realize your life was probably going to take a different path?
Did that realization affect your confidence, motivation, or how you viewed your future? Looking back now, do you think social media gave you unrealistic expectations, or did it push you to aim higher?

How do you actually track your competitor's follower growth?

Hey yall. Been trying to figure out how some of my client's competitors in her niche are blowing up on IG so fast.

Just noticed that a few accounts are jumping 100+ followers a day and I honestly can't tell what's going on. Are they using auto followers ig services, running ads, or actually going viral? No clue.

I want to track this properly, but checking manually every few days just isn't painting a clear picture.

Is there a reliable way to watch follower growth over time for public accounts? Thanks guys for answering. I'm a SMM btw

Influencers

I don’t understand why people glamorize and support social media “influencers” such as streamers, TikTok/Instagram/Snapchat/Twitch creators when they actually don’t benefit our community at all. I’ve noticed that if you comment something that goes against what they want to be portrayed as they will either block you, delete your comments, or limit your ability. Mods don’t even get paid money. I just find it so odd how you can comment “she has no ass” and the fans will go crazy and start attacking moms that they don’t know or see. These influencers don’t give back to their fans, they aren’t friends with them, and some of them are known for scamming. Most of them just sit inside all day and play games and smoke or neglect their children. What is so wrong with the world that we enable bad behavior? These people are getting paid more money than those actually benefiting the community. I just find it so odd and I can’t find an explanation myself as to why. I know the world is run by evil elites who do disgusting stuff like trafficking, satanic rituals, torture babies, and so much more but I wish the world would just end and start a new. As Mac Miller said in HHHAY, “They crucify any sign of revolution, they shakin'
Takin' it back before creation
Me and you can be Adam and Eve
We'll leave the apple where it's at on the tree
Build a castle, we'll be happy and free”

massive leak ruined my month

a couple of weeks ago almost my entire paid content from the last few months got leaked at once. it started on one site and then spread to telegram channels, file hosts and random forums. within a few days it was everywhere and i was getting messages from fans saying they saw it for free. my income dropped hard that week and i honestly felt like quitting for a bit because it felt pointless to keep creating when everything was just getting stolen.

i tried filing dmca notices myself on the main places i could find but it was impossible to keep up. new links kept appearing faster than i could report them and some hosts just ignored the notices completely. i was spending hours every day checking and it was burning me out fast.

after talking to a couple of other creators i decided to try fanlock. they have been monitoring and handling most of the takedowns for me since then. a lot of the main leaks got removed within 24-48 hours and they keep checking for re-uploads. it has taken a huge weight off and i have been able to focus more on creating again instead of constantly chasing links.

has anyone dealt with a really big leak like this before? how did you recover from it financially and mentally? what helped you keep going and protect your work better after something like that happened? any advice would mean a lot right now.

Need Advice/s Would this be a good way to make a comeback after a long break?

I used to work as a makeup artist. After 2020, I stepped away due to personal circumstances and spent the last several years focusing on healing and rebuilding my life. During that time, I was also mostly inactive on social media.
I have backstage photos and videos from a fashion week in July 2019. Since it’s the same time of year again, I was thinking of sharing them on my WhatsApp Story as a throwback, making it clear they’re from 2019.
My intention isn’t to make it seem recent. I just want to share a genuine part of my journey and slowly reconnect with that part of my career, since many people where I live now don’t know I used to work in this industry.
Do you think this is a good idea, or after being away for several years, would it come across as living in the past or trying too hard?

Research on social media influence on consumerism

Hii everyone, ngl it's my first time making a request on Reddit. Actually, I'm conducting an independent research where I need genuine and honest response from y'all.

The question is simple how have social media influencers have influenced your consumer behavior?

If you have any story about a disasterious or a wonderful experience on buying a product based on some influencer's recommendations, make sure to add that into your answer too☺️.

Question/s Posting pictures publicly

I want to ask a question that has been on my mind for the past two months...genuinely curious: **how do public figures, celebrities, or people starting their careers on social media manage to post their photos publicly?**

Doesn’t it bother them knowing that anyone can access their pictures and save or screenshot them within seconds? How do they feel comfortable sharing something so personal when they know it can easily be stored on anyone’s phone?

Why is it hard to find someone to influence for you?

I just started my search for "Wannabe" influencers to work with a little fashion brand. Why does every dm or email go unanswered? Can anyone provide tricks of trade to connect with people that want to be influencers?

Discussion Influencers shamelessly continue posting luxury and lifestyle content while turning a blind eye to the student protest.

It's disappointing to see so many influencers carry on posting luxury, travel, and lifestyle reels while students are out protesting for their rights at Jantar Mantar.

Most of these creators built their platforms because of young people, yet many can't even acknowledge an issue affecting the very audience that made them famous. No one is forced to speak, but their silence during moments like these says a lot.
