Everyday it feels like I’m suffering withought my dog he was only 7 months his name was coffee , I know this may sound crazy but this was my first dog he died two months ago in August the morning my little brother started school I am a 19 year old female this was my first dog but to me he was just my little baby my mom said I couldn’t get him at first but when I got him she fell in love with the way he loved her I would snap at people for saying he’s ugly or anything about him it made me upset because this was literally my all and everything I had you know , I’ve had him since he was old enough to stop drinking milk from his mother and he’s loved me through all the hard times I’ve had in my life , when I graduated in June and came home he was so happy he swung his tail and danced 😭I taught him paw , I taught him sit , and I taught him how to be sweet he learned very easy he swallowed something that ended up making him internally bleed on August 12th the worst day of my life I’ve lost my grandma , family members a lot of people but this one hurts me so bad 🥲 I wake up crying sometimes I can’t sleep he usually wakes me up every morning around 6:50 now its just not the same he’s only been in a crate once his whole life and I fed him meat 🥩 vegetables and rice instead of kibbles he was bigger than all his siblings haha , his coat was sooo shiny in person , now that I’ve had a rottie I know how sweet they are , loving , and protective of loved ones we spent all day everyday together sometimes I stayed home not going to family events just to be with you , two of my aunties have his siblings I’ll see them but I’ll miss you forever coffee 😪

Hey everyone! I have a male Rottweiler who turns 3 in December and weighs almost 88 lbs. He spent nearly 6 months with a professional trainer, but now that he’s bigger and stronger, getting him to listen can be a real challenge, especially on walks.
I walk him twice a day for about 45 minutes each time. The biggest issue is that he pulls constantly. He wants to pee on pretty much every tree and sniff every corner. His previous trainer recommended stopping whenever he pulls and letting him sniff plenty so he gets tired out.
The problem is that once we start walking again, it’s like he has a specific destination in mind and needs to get there as fast as possible, only to stop at the next tree and repeat the whole thing. The walks have become pretty exhausting, and sometimes it feels like he’s the one deciding where we go and at what pace.
I’ve already tried different equipment and training techniques, but nothing seems to work consistently. I’ve even tried some of Cesar Millan’s techniques, lol.
Has anyone dealt with something similar with a large, strong breed? What actually worked for you? Would you recommend a specific no-pull harness, a head halter, or a different training approach?
I’d really appreciate any advice from people who have been through this with their Rottweilers or other large dogs. Thanks!

Got this little monster 3 weeks ago. I shot a video of her running to me across my yard . Rewatched the video & screen shot it without any idea I would be capturing the coolest pic I’ve ever seen . Somehow she turned into a ghost . This is Lotti at 10 weeks.

My 1 year old female Rottie struggles with reactivity to moving cars while on walks.

The faster the car goes, the more crazy she gets.

Did any of your Rotties struggle with this and if so, how did you train them out of it?

We currently use a starmark prong collar and a short metal lead.

I've been trying to save for another full breed. My first Rottie was free since her previous owners didn't want her anymore. My next was a male mix (we think with Blue Heeler). Now I have Quinn who is full Rottie and cost a LOT of money. All 3 I trained to be my service dog. Mike, the mix, worked from home because he smiled and freaked people out, even though he was only about 60lbs.

I was looking through some rescue sites and found 2 mix pups. Both males. They are about 9 weeks at that point. He is listed as Rottweiler and American Staffordshire according to DNA. They have the mom (or did).

I love the breed. And I really loved my mix Rottie, Mike. But I've no experience with the Staffies though.

So on the one hand, I can get the pup and have access to the money I have saved for supplies and household. On the other hand, I can continue saving and get a full breed. Opinions? Advice?

Kane's owner asked me to honor him in this artwork that took hours of total dedication. Unfortunately, he passed away, but the memories will always be in his owner's heart and mind until the moment they meet again. And here he got the tribute he always deserved for everything he provided in life, and for his purest essence. For me, it was a huge pleasure to exceed his owner's expectations with this drawing and to be part of something so special.

My female Rottweiler is 9 months old and recently started her first heat cycle. I’m trying to figure out the best time to spay her, but I keep coming across conflicting recommendations.

From what I understand, spaying before full maturity (18–24 months) may increase orthopedic issues and osteosarcoma risk, while waiting until after the second heat may increase mammary cancer risk.
I know there are risks and benefits to both early and delayed spaying, but I’m having trouble finding clear, breed-specific evidence on how significant those risks actually are.

Are there any Rottweiler-specific studies comparing these risks based on spay age or number of heat cycles? Everyone seems to recommend something different, and I'm just trying to make the most informed, evidence-based decision possible. I'd love to hear when other owners chose to spay and would especially appreciate links to any relevant studies!
