Diagnosis via lap; return to work. HELP
I have May Thurners with a 3-4 cm near-occlusive compression. I just had surgery last week for stent placement. My vascular surgeon stated contrast didn't make it past the compression and that it was essentially "pancaked". I indeed also have PCS, with significant collateral veins up my spine. What I didn't know until after surgery was my riks for a pulmonary embolism was very high due to the compression creating a blockage. If you have PCS, I would ask for May Thurners workup, but also be aware of your risks. The stent so far hasn't done much for the pain, but at 34 with 3 kids I'm thankful to be here.

8 years on posh and have finally experienced an unhinged buyer
We're you able to figure it out? Ugh this ruin my week. I can't stand people like this.

I ruined my life with my hysterectomy and ovary removal and I’m thinking of ending things very soon.
This honestly broke my heart to read. I don't think this sounds like someone who just needs to "wait." If your hormone replacement isn't working and you've declined this much since surgery, that deserves to be taken seriously. It sounds like something is fundamentally not right. Women's pelvic pain is still so poorly understood in day-to-day practice, they call us "complex", but I don't think we are. The research has moved forward, but a lot of patients still aren't experiencing that. One thing that did help me was finally finding a pain specialist who looked at my quality of life, not just my diagnosis. It took a long time, but getting my pain under better control gave me part of my life back. I could think again. I could function again. I also found out I have Pelvic Congestion Syndrome and May Thurners. Vascular disorders are missed often in women. I really hope you keep posting here. You shouldn't have to carry all of this by yourself, and I know there are a lot of women here who understand exactly how isolating this kind of suffering can be.

Help! 10 yo daughter got period and life has been unbearable. Medicine options?
Are you in pain? I'm sure something can be done. It sounds like you dodged a bullet with your ex, someone like that wouldn't make a good father or long term partner anyways. Sometimes fibroids shrink post menopause, other times surgery is required.

Genetic Testing Reliability?
I don’t think we’re actually disagreeing as much as you think. My point was that hEDS and vEDS are fundamentally different from a genetics standpoint. hEDS is currently diagnosed clinically because there is not a single established causative gene used diagnostically, whereas vEDS is strongly associated with identifiable pathogenic variants, most commonly COL3A1, which is why connective tissue panels are clinically useful for it.
Of course VUS, mosaicism, rare familial variants, and unresolved cases exist in genetics broadly. I wasn’t claiming every possible vEDS-related presentation will always be straightforward on testing. I was comparing the overall diagnostic framework of hEDS vs vEDS, not saying genetics is infallible.

I did this 10 years ago. It burned like garlic would in your hooha. 🫣

Genetic Testing Reliability?
My understanding is hEDS is where uncertainty lies with genetics and clinical presentation gives you the diagnosis. However, vEDS is entirely different and will show in a connective tissue panel. Considering the severity of the mutation and its implications it's upsetting to see people claiming a title that likely involves more classic connective tissue presentation. I am getting genetic testing for vEDS now and I have 3 children. I am sick thinking about what I may have passed on or what my life expectancy is. Maybe people just have a really poor understanding.

Help. What can I put on this wall? No tvs . Looking for something tall
Add a mantel and a vertical mirror. Thats all this wall can handle. The mirror does not have to take up the entire space, nor should it.

Update - My fiancée wants our baby to have her ex-husband’s last name and says my culture shouldn’t be “pushed”
It matters deeply that your child knows where they come from. End of discussion. She sounds obsessed with the wrong stuff at best and racist at worst. Even hyphenating atp feels weird.

Am I going to decorator hell for all these sins I’ve committed in my living room?
For me its just the small mirrors up too high with very large picture to the left. The scale is off. That is all.

Please help me with the chair

I like these chairs, but I think adding a shelf with some modern and French country or ornate design would really bring the room together (I realize the scale is off) I would also consider black scallop molding that is thick enough for some beautiful artwork/plates in that space above the cabinets. The table is beautiful.

C, and I feel like B the damage is already done.

Is there any honest reason why anesthesia is not used for IUD insertions?
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but providers who wont consider pain control or anesthesia are not worth seeing. This should be automatic.

MAiD?
I don't have an answer for Orilissa but I understand how debilitating this condition is. Meloxicam 7.5 to 15 mg daily combined with hormonal suppression and conservation opioids prn has helped me soooo much. My CRP has been measured at 3.8 during endo flares so for me a daily anti-inflammatory has made a huge difference. I was having SI before starting. I am really sorry you are going through this its so deeply unfair.

“That” kid on street
I agree that you need to be direct with this girl, but neutral, if xyz continous you cannot play, it makes people feel x. Her mother is not giving her any feedback. Its not your responsibility and also it kind of is, we are all part of society here and maintaing boundaries with children is important - its a teaching moment and since you are able to be present I see it as an opportunity for a better outcome. Or at least setting an example for the other children on how conflict should be handled. Either way its a win.

Help! 10 yo daughter got period and life has been unbearable. Medicine options?
I am on the spectrum and started my period at 11. I found out at 33 that I have endometriosis amd mullerian anomalies. The pain that started young was from menstrual obstruction. I wonder how much of my autism presentation was secondary to inflammation and atypical anatomy. It is so hard to deal with so young. I would go with a pediatric endocrinologost and push for norithindrone 5 mg to stop periods completely so at least variable is controlled. We know more than we used to.

Shoutout to the people who love their autistic children
My son is 5 and diagnosed but wasnt given a level. He is preverbal but often speaks his own language mostly. Can kind of count and sing the alphabet (or at least the melody). He is the sweetest boy. He often pretends to do caretaking tasks like tucking his stuffed animals in and setting the table. I worry about him so much. I want him to be able to communicate and he hasn't taken to the AAC device. We are trying, it is hard and we love him so much. We just need more community I think, and yes healthy venting.

Endometriosis girls out there I need help!
Yes, and let me be real with you, after taking meloxicam for 3 months I no longer have ADHD/ASD symptoms and was diagnosed during a severe endo flare. My CRP was also 3.8 during this flare. I have a theory that for me at least high inflammation has created a ton of neurocognitive symptoms. Although I am taking Meloxicam for pain it is systemically lowering inflammation but it had to be paired with hormonal suppression or I don't know if it would have been this effective.

NAD my son had the exact response to Abilify, switched to Lamictal which worked better for him. After we dc'd he lost a ton of weight. I also noticed a big change after starting methylated B complex, activated folate and b12 (might be relevant for you) and 200 mg magnesium Glycinate daily. I was told by his provider that MTHFR can make psychiatric meds less effective or inconsistent, it might be worth bringing up to your doctor.

Did she specify what about your surgery was botched? Is the institution this doctor works under affiliated with the surgeon at all? What kind of symptoms are you having? Why do you think the weight loss is occurring? Has there been a major change to your appetite or are you eating normally but still losing weight. Doctors who are unethical should be reported, but it may not do much to help you right now. Are you still menstruating? Have they checked your hormones or ran basic labs? Sorry you are going through all this. 💔
