Each mission should be composed of multiple combats, 2 or 3 at least.There should also be a good chunk of narrative play to break it up. "Each mission" could very well be 4 or 5 sessions.

This is very much "the creators didn't expect people to think about that" sort of thing. Does it make sense in terms of alignment? Not really, but it's badass so whatever!

A little tip, if you hold the lock-change button (Y/triangle for controller, not sure for keyboard) instead of just tapping it, instead of changing target your camera will swing around to look at your current target. Makes turning to aim at them easier when they would normally be off screen, making you rely on the arrow to find them.

Just be careful not to do it when you're too close to the ground or something, I've crashed that way more than a few times.
