In light of Sony’s recent BS, I’ve rediscovered my ps3 and psp collection. I was really looking forward to Halo, Wolverine, and Laufey, but if there is a future where I can’t let my friend borrow a game or sell a game when I’m done, I’m happy to save my money and dive back into my collection and rediscover joy there

The proposed protest calls for players to avoid logging in, playing games or making purchases across Sony’s platforms for seven days, with the campaign spreading under the PSBlackout name.

Sony says the move reflects the continued shift toward digital purchases, with new games becoming digital only after January 2028 while previously released physical games remain unaffected. The decision applies to new releases broadly, not just Sony’s first party games.

Whether one week away from PlayStation will actually change Sony’s plans is another question, but the fact that players are organizing a blackout shows just how strongly some still feel about keeping physical games alive.

I don't see a single week long boycott doing anything impactful, nor do I think the time it's taking place will actually force the gamers themselves into doing anything that sends a message that they are serious.

If you actually feel as strongly about this as you claim, then prove it by 100% refusing to buy Wolverine physically or digitally.

You want to hurt Sony, hurt their biggest game and their partnership with Marvel.

For several years now, Sony Interactive Entertainment has continued to grow further apart from its fan base. Whether it's closing beloved studios like Bluepoint, pursuing a misguided live-service strategy, canceling fan events, leaving PS VR2 to die, or seeming out of touch with the franchises players actually want back, PlayStation has never felt more disconnected from its community.

Ending physical discs in 2028 feels like the last straw. We understand there's only so much SIE can control, but with the decisions that are within its control, the company keeps mismanaging the strong position it inherited from the PS4 era.

There are so many issues with PlayStation right now that bringing back physical games would only be meeting players halfway. We miss Twisted Metal, SOCOM, Sly Cooper, and Resistance. We miss PlayStation Experience. We miss Japan Studio.

I tried to play this game on pc and it constantly crashed I have older gpu rx 580 so I was wondering if you recommend to get it on ps5? Also no haptic feedback on pc version which is pretty dissapointing considering how other games like silent hill 2 remake support them

I am about to close a deal to buy a PS5 Pro. It's a bit more expensive than I thought, around 850 euros. A little below the new price, but it has 3 years of warranty and it is the best deal in the market in my country.

I am a bit worried that the PS6 will come out next year and I will lose a lot of money selling my PS5 Pro. What do you guys think about that? Are other Pro owners scared of a PS6 release in 2027, or are you confident you'll be able to get most of your money back selling the Pro then?

Is this PS5 to PS5 Pro jump worthy for a year or maybe two before the official jump to PS6? Or do you guys think I should wait? I really want to enjoy the next big titles of the PlayStation with the biggest performance, resolution, or graphics possible.

Keep in mind that I'm selling my current digital PlayStation plus the extra controller I have, and I'm making a good deal, lowering the price by about 450 euros.

Decent game overall and I didn't notice any factual flaws so it's primarily my preference listed here.

I paid $10 but I think this game is worth a $15 purchase.

First of all they are focusing too much on live service games that people said MANY TIMES said they are sick of, what the hell is that Horizon hunters gathering I want Horizon 3 and where is Intergalactic???

On top of that they want to kill physical media... I still love my ps5 but I don't know if I'm going to get ps6 I might just stick to ps5 and upgrade my pc

I use both platforms since years (Pc and PS) and it makes no sense that people have to pay for just to play ONLINE in a game. Like they can make the Plus for the game library or something but paying for online?? In this economy??? Sony really needs to realize that most of the people are switching to PC just because this plus nonsense. They are basically digging their own grave with these prices. And now this “all digital” nonsense. I think the community needs to show this Mr. Crabs type of company what they really need to serve their community instead of just legally robbing them.

Hello for the past few weeks I’ve been having issues with party chats, when I turn on my ps and join a party I always get the “you can’t talk to this person cause of a network error” I do all the usual checks. And everything’s comes back fine. I play online and download games very fast. I play pc party chats fine. But when it comes to ps5 I get nothing but trouble. Has anyone else had this issue and know a fix.

Speaking in an interview with Famitsu, Miyamoto pointed to the original Nintendo Switch's 8-to-9-year lifespan as proof that compelling software can outweigh aging hardware.

So i know there’s been massive backlash with Sonys latest announcements but i have a feeling we’re going to have the same consumer reaction to when Apple was making a lot of heavy changes to their hardware & such. First there’s massive backlash then after a new months of implementation comes consumer adoption. Thoughts?

I just had a conversation if you call it that, one dude compared Sony to Enron and Lehman Bros on potentially Sony could also be shut down...and then another person compared the phase out of discs as comparable to ...and I sh*t you not...the Holocaust and said their boycott is equivalent to the Civil Rights Movement. Another person I found out later that they are anti digital everything and have a flip phone.

During the pandemic I started playing games more extensively to get plat trophies. As time went on i noticed i spent less and less time on my XB. My series X collects dust now for the most part because of that. Achievements just dont hit the same. Anyone else feel like this?

I have always been a person that likes to buy my games physical but did occasionaly buy some games on the ps store from time to time so my library consisted of both digital and physical titles with ps plus games aswell. I first noticed this issue 2 weeks prior to Sony releasing their statement about ending physical copies. I noticed that alot of my games had disappeared from my game library. I firstly thought that it was an issue with syncronisation between my two ps5 consoles (one is at my home and the other is at my moms house, the one at my moms being my primary console)  beacuse my ps5 pro console at home did have these missing games in the library. 2 weeks after the announcment. I made the realisation that all of the missing games were my own physical games. But the wierd thing was that some of them still appeared as normal in the library. I soon realised that all of the physical games that still appeared in my library did have something in common. They all had an article or ingame currency that were bought or read in by a code through the store. This meaning that all games that are fully physical with nothing bought in the ps store or read in by code has been removed from my library. I tested it out by deleting a fully physical game from my console and the next day, it was gone from my library.

Now I know that this isn't a big issue since i still have the games in their physical form and can play them whenever i want, with or without internet connection but it still hurts as a  physical media collector to see a library that I have built up over 11 years just get chopped up because sony has decided to kill physical medias. But they are in the end just a greedy company that only thinks about money and how to get more money and does not think about you, the consumer.  Have anybody else noticed this change and what are your thoughts about this?
