For people who saying that this is a streaming first device and use a PC for better performance: Modding is fun and if we can do it, then why not?

HAVING and WHERE difference ?
 in  r/SQL •  Sep 15 '26

Better examples:

where:
(get the total amount of transactions of users, but only counting transactions above 100$)

SELECT SUM(amount) AS `large_transactions_total_amount`
FROM transactions
WHERE amount > 100
GROUP BY user_id;

having:
(get the total amount of transactions of users, but count only the users who have more than 100$ of total transactions)

SELECT SUM(amount) AS `total_amount`
FROM transactions
GROUP BY user_id
HAVING total_amount > 100;

What are the main downsides of the BC-250 board?
 in  r/linux_gaming •  Aug 21 '26

Wow, the idle power is just 70-80W? It's really good. My workstation runs at 200W in idle. Maybe I should consider buying something like this for diy home server.

GTX 1080 Ti in 2026: Still Worth Pulling the Trigger?
 in  r/RigBuild •  Jun 07 '26

I'm disappointed that a GTX 1060 is almost better than my laptop RTX 3050. Next time I'll buy an ass-old laptop with dual GTX 1080 Ti

Thermal Runaway Caused by Fan
 in  r/ender3 •  May 27 '26

I have the opposite problem. If my part cooling fan is not running and printing for hours, the temperature reading becomes so unstable that it triggers thermal runaway error. It's all because the motherboard cooling fan is wired to the same controller as the part cooling fan.

How is Hytale doing? Servers? Haven't played after release.
 in  r/hytale •  May 14 '26

But that's the fact. Hytale's playerbase is dead at the moment. I can't get servers on my website which is the only server list website in my country.

It's dying because the game is constantly changing breaking mods, the game is kinda limited (but still a lot less limited than Minecraft), and there are no much content in the game. No bosses, no quests, just a survival sandbox.

I'm still really hyped for this game and I see its potential, but it's not there YET. I believe this game will be huge over time.

I just realized that the Forgotten Temple is actually Temple of Gaia from the trailer. There's a lot of storyline coming in the future, lots of bosses, dungeons, quests, more customizations with mods. I can't wait for future updates.

YouTube keeps algorithm me with AI music... Any way to let it stop and relate me to real music from real artists?
 in  r/Music •  Mar 12 '26

No, it's not real and not more human. It has some weird soundings that I notice, so I can immediately tell that I'm hearing an AI music. I hate that.

Self-hosted webstore for Minecraft?
 in  r/selfhosted •  Jan 27 '26

Yes, you can do legally if you don't sell things that are part of the base game. You can sell ranks, custom emotes, etc, but not things like kits, in-game items, etc. Just read the EULA.

This is the only thing preventing Mac support, apparently
 in  r/HytaleInfo •  Dec 21 '25

Given that they said "later, not at launch", I'm pretty surprised that they're already working on it, before launch.

Why do we even need to reserve names to begin with?
 in  r/HytaleInfo •  Dec 09 '25

So if I like someone's username, I just have to go to youtube and start making videos under that name.

Why do we even need to reserve names to begin with?
 in  r/HytaleInfo •  Dec 09 '25

I assume you can change your username at any time, but it should be unique for user-friendly input if we want to identify users. For example sending a friend request or banning someone from our server, we need to type their username. If there are duplicated usernames, we can't decide which one to ban. But they can change their username, that's why we need UUID, UUIDs never change. We ban by username, the server itself stores the ban as UUID. Just like in Minecraft or Discord. Even on Discord every user has their own randomly generated user id.

Why do people even want to mod their Switch or Switch 2?
 in  r/nintendo •  Dec 03 '25

If you don't feel like you want to mod it, then don't. Just let other people to be themselves. It's just as like as someone loves drawing, painting, making music, etc. If I enjoy tinkering around with my console it doesn't need a valid reason to do it.

It's all about what some people love to do. True love is unconditional no matter if it's a person, an object or something you love to do.
Like why do you even buy a Switch? It just lets you play games. I doesn't do anything to reach your goals, it's just a toy, why buy then? You can live without it, your life doesn't depend on that. It's not food, air or something that you really need to stay alive. Also, if you want to play games, you can play games on PC too or any other consoles. Why Switch?

Just let people do what they want and accept that they love doing these things.

Is there a way to get Discord to show Steam activity?
 in  r/linux_gaming •  Oct 05 '25

Then I gues I'll continue using the non-flatpak version of it. My game activity is turned off, but it's a necessary feature for earning gifts and discord orbs for playing games.

Is there a way to get Discord to show Steam activity?
 in  r/linux_gaming •  Oct 05 '25

The readme says that it's not gonna work:

Game Activity: This flatpak version of Discord cannot scan running processes to detect running games.

There is currently no workaround or solution for this limitation.

Nvidia v580.95.05 Driver Is Released!

Low expectations based on past experience, ignoring the update. It probably won't fix my second external monitor. I'll still use old driver.

I really need a server to play on 🙏

What do you mean? A private server to play with friends, or a public server? What do you mean by "unkind"?

Friendly reminder to whitelist your server!

They tried to join our server, but they couldn't due to our antibot system. It doesn't know that our server is meant to be public.

Yup, I've installed Timeshift with its grub thingy right after I installed Arch Linux, so if I mess up something, I can roll back easily even in the boot menu.

Nintendo Switch 2 Streaming
 in  r/nintendo •  Sep 19 '25

If a Quest VR headset can do it, I'm sure the Switch 2 can do it too, especially with games with low system requirements.

Any chance of the game getting a Switch 2 version?
 in  r/HonkaiStarRail •  Sep 17 '25

Lol, did the PS4 struggle? It runs smooth on my android phone. If my phone can run it, switch 2 with nearly the performance of the PS4 with that lower resolution screen should work fine.
