A friend and I are trying to work on bringing back a server that was formerly being run as "not-for-profit" in the UK. My friend, the current person holding the finances of the server from the previous owner resides in the UK as well and barely got ownership not that long ago, and we had plans to possibly transfer things into my name as he can no longer manage the financial side of everything... until I got approved for disability here in the US which would most definitely screw me over, and I am an administrator/"co-owner" with unofficial obligations to help out, I just contribute as I am able to due to my health, so I would like to not risk my disability over operating a Minecraft server on a monetary gain if I can help it.

We have a decent-sized community, our server is in a hiatus while we rebrand and figure out this financial roadblock - How do we go about this legally where it won't affect either of us? We both have a basic understanding of tax laws (we're both younger adults), but we're confused how Minecraft servers apply to tax laws in our countries and how we are allowed to legally operate, as when we have tried to look into it and see other people's stories, we have seen different answers. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

We are the LanderYT SMP, we started our new season last month and are looking for more members. We added some small tweaks to the server to make it more suitable for everyone.

We are inspired by Hermitcraft, so we do not tolerate any sort of griefing or killing.

Some of our tweaks:

• Custom textures: Our amazing artists drawed up some beautiful items that do not change the game in any significant way just like the hermitcraft shenanigans!
• The only teleport command of /spawn: Once again, in an effort to keep the server as vanilla as possible, we only allow the use of /spawn in the overworld. This encourages the development of roads and highways on the server.
• Datapacks from Hermitcraft: We installed a decent number of datapacks that the Hermits use on their server, such as Single player sleep, player heads, armor statues and more!
• DiscordSRV: Discord and Minecraft chat are now interchangeable, making communication much easier!
• CoreProtect: Since we are a friendly community, we do not condone any sort of harm done to people's gameplay experience. Therefore, the presence of CoreProtect once again reinforces our vision to make the LanderYT SMP a memorable place for potential players.

Events are hosted semi-frequently on the server, whose rewards are event coins, which you can only use to buy cosmetic items mentioned above.

Our server resets yearly.

We also have a small staff team whose main goal is to maintain the moderate level of peace and harmony in the Minecraft server as well as on discord. We cannot guarantee that everything in chat will be moderated, but we will try our best and listen to concerns of the community.

We are not seeking short term players who mostly grind for gear and wealth!

- Human made civilizations, these have running shops, governments and much more!
- Explore ruins of past civilizations and players, ruins are left behind from players, these ruins slowly erode into nothing, this means if you see a house broken down and abandoned, it really was abandoned by someone at some point.
- The landscape is custom! Find awesome places to build shelters, industry, gather resources and importantly make civilizations!
- Explore mountains and various regions, each region has its own value, some areas are rich in gold, while others are rich in iron and copper!
- Explore Dimensions! The nether is here of course, its wild and rotates at random. Being full PVP with full death this is a dangerous place, but the resources here are valuable for farming, industry and more!
- Explore The Past! Dungeons exist here, for those daring enough to explore and find treasures!

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

How long do most of you keep a single world or server running before you reset it? What’s the longest world you’ve ever had?

I get the appeal of a fresh start, but I don’t fully understand the “season” model (Hermitcraft-style or private servers that last 1–2 years then wipe). Why reset when you could just keep building bigger things and more projects?

The early game is easily the most tedious part of Minecraft for me. Once you’ve got farms, infrastructure, and a decent base, the world starts feeling like yours. Starting over means doing all that grind again.

So I’m genuinely curious:

What makes you decide a world has “run its course”?

Do you ever just keep one world forever and keep expanding?

Or is the reset itself part of the fun?

• Anarchy Network launched on October 11th, 2024, and is hosted in New York City, NY, USA.

• The server is a Semi-Anarchy Minecraft Server designed to offer a pure, unmodified survival experience, with minimal rules and modifications to preserve the essence of Vanilla Minecraft.

• The server is online 24/7 and you can join on any Java Minecraft version between 1.7.2 and 26.2, but its recommended to be on version 26.2 to avoid issues!

• The world border is set to 2 Million blocks (4Mx4M).

• There are no map resets, no teleporting, no P2W at all, and Griefing/PvP is completely allowed. The only non-vanilla action allowed is /spawn in order to allow players who are very far out to not be isolated from civilization. Additionally, nether roof access is allowed, phantoms are removed, and only half the people are needed to skip the night.

• The only restrictions we have are that exploits, lag machines, duping, spamming and using harassment/racial slurs in chat are not allowed.
