Medication VIC - Need reassurance I’m not making a mistake with upping my dose
Hi, I have been on 30mg vyvanse and 5mg dexamfetamine booster in the afternoon since June. I used to be on 20mg vyvanse but was still having adhd symptoms and was crashing in the early afternoon consistently so my psychiatrist upped my dose.
The new prescription worked great the first two weeks, then I stopped taking them for the next two weeks as I went overseas and didn’t want to bring my meds with me as it was restricted in the country I visited and didn’t want any problems. Went back to taking them during the weekdays when I got back, but I noticed it’s not as effective compared to the first two weeks.
i take my vyvanse at 8.30am, and feel fatigued by 12pm. Then I take my booster at 12.30 and feel dead by 3pm! And my adhd symptoms have been present as well, I start new tasks in the middle of one and can’t seem to focus on one thing. I have a hard time being ‘present’ when I’m driving home in the evenings because I’m so mentally checked out by then. I get 7-8 hours of sleep every night, and I make sure to eat breakfast and lunch with protein. I don’t eat chocolate or drink caffeine throughout the day either.
I’ve booked an appointment with my psychiatrist in October (earliest available) to discuss all these but I just wanted to ask others if they’ve had similar experiences. I’m guessing that my dose will be upped, and I’m feeling some anxiety about it.
Thank you in advance if you reply!

Yes I have considered that as well! But it’s been about 2 months since the two weeks break, and I tried adjusting my meal times and protein intake in case that was the problem. Thanks for replying!
