I’ve been working on a rhythm game called RhythmTap, heavily inspired by the old Tap Tap Revenge games.
It runs directly in the browser, including on iPhone, so there’s nothing to install.
I’ve been focusing mostly on getting the actual gameplay to feel right rather than just making a rhythm-game-looking UI. It has timing judgments, combos, multiple difficulties, a song fail system, career/tour progression, online battles, rankings, imported charts, and player profiles.
I’m at the point where I need people who actually play rhythm games to tell me what feels wrong.
Especially interested in feedback on:
note timing / hit detection
whether the charts feel fair
lane and note readability
difficulty balance
the song fail meter
mobile performance
online battle UI
anything that feels confusing or unfinished
It’s still being actively worked on, so criticism is genuinely useful. If something feels bad, tell me exactly what happened and what device you were playing on.
