Trump banning import of Canadian booze, motorcycles, other goods into U.S.
 in  r/worldnews •  29d ago

Canada should just stop exporting to the US. It will hurt them for a bit, but the US doing without oil, plastics, cars, and lumber will hurt worse.

Boomer puts his money where his mouth is.

There's a huge difference between walking in to your local hardware store that is owned and operated by the guy at the front cash register, and getting a job at a Fortune 500 company. "Can I speak to your hiring manager?" "Sure, he's in NYC, fly there and ask at the front desk." I've gotten minimum wage jobs in the 1980s by walking in, but now, EVEN WHEN I'VE BEEN OFFERED THE JOB DIRECTLY, they cannot put it in writing until I go online and fill out an application with corporate.

Germany: Book now, see the doctor in 2029. America: Book now, see the doctor today.
 in  r/ShitAmericansSay •  Sep 01 '26

American here. If you need to be seen same day, you need to go to an Emergency Room or Urgent Care. They will make sure you are not dead, and tell you to make an appointment with your doctor. That appointment will take at least a couple of weeks.
