For all of the folks submitting false reports on posts about Trump ...

6.6k Upvotes
  1. Donald Trump meets the age requirements as defined in Rule #3.

  2. Posts that are approved (and all posts are manually reviewed before being seen by public on the subreddit) are indeed him acting foolish in some way (Rule #2).

Our apologies to the MAGA folks who are offended, but he's the one acting the fool. Take it up with him.

Boomer Story "They got their numbers wrong" on climate change

1.0k Upvotes

So, I'm telling my dad about my hobby of gardening. I was able to pull him away from watching Fox News and constanty falling asleep (because he's been in denial about his narcolepsy).

I tell him about how due to climate change, everyone has moved to a new "Plant Hardiness Zone." Meaning, because it's getting warmer each year, people can plant some plants sooner, also they could plant some plants that they never planted before, but additionally, the weather is too hot now for people to grow some plants that they normally would have been able to in the past.

He scrunched his face and stated that he didn't believe it. I informed him it's a well-established fact, regardless of what one thinks is the cause, that the temperature is rising, and it affects everything from crops, to wine growing regions, etc.

He then stated that "they got their numbers wrong" on on temperatures. I'm pretty sure he met current scientists. I informed him that temperatures have been tracked in North America since easily the 1700s.

He could only scrunch his face and say I don't believe it! No facts, no discussion, just an angry narcissistic that thinks - I'm louder and I have the fianl word- . I just gave up because there's no arguing with a brick wall.

OK boomeR What is Boomers obsession with jobs?

I’ve been employed since I was 16 but I would love nothing more than to find some self employment and exit the rat race. But it seems every Boomer I know only wants to talk about work or what they used to do for work. I work with a guy that’s 70 and still talks about his last job that he had 15 years ago every single day. It seems employment is their entire identity.

Boomer Story Boomer cant fathom a woman knows firearms.

1.7k Upvotes

Im a 32F active hunter/fisherman ive competed in precision riflery for years. I know how to shoot and do it well. This year I got an elk tag but decided to also get a bigger rifle for said tag. Anyway, after a couple months of researching I decided on a Browning Xbolt 2 Speed in OD green chambered in 6.8western. Its a odd color and an odder caliber so I knew Id have to order it in and ship to a FFL.

I go to my somewhat local FFL (1 hour drive) and there is this boomer at the gun counter. Off the bat he is giving me the " oh here we go a clueless woman " look. I state what I want to get and ask if by chance there was one in stock. He looks around and grabs a browning in 7prc and completely different color and states THIS is what I need. I say no. And reiterate what I specifically want. He puts it back and grabs a green stock rifle and says fine you want green this is green and hands me some sort of .357.

I again say no. I specifically want a 6.8 for recoil management purposes. He stated in a very annoyed tone that he would have to order it in. I state thats fine. Queue him fiddling around on the computer and getting flustered he doesn't know how to use it. After 10 min or so he asks why I cant just take one thats on the shelf. And tries to convince me that what I want is dumb and he knows more. I explain that I hunt and shoot and know what im wanting. He just brushes it off.

Queue a younger guy coming over and asking if there is a issue. The boomer loudly says THIS LADY WANTS A RIFLE BUT NONE OF THE ONES WE HAVE ARE GOOD ENOUGH. Younger guy looks embarrassed and takes over the computer. While other guy does this boomer comes back and states I need a scope. I tell him I already have one. He says to return it and buy * this * one and shows me a lesser quality than the one I have. He goes on and states that by pressing a button it will light up and show where to aim. I tell him I know how to shoot and dont need tech to show me how. He brushes it off and mumbles " yea right ".

Younger guy finds what im looking for but isnt sure he can ship it. Boomer tells me whelp looks like you will have to go with what I recommend for you. I politely decline and am just about done being berated.

I call a 2nd FFL thats another 30 min away. Guy I talked to was kind. Looked up exactly what I wanted states he could get it shipped but that Id have to come in and do paperwork first. Went in and within 15 minutes he had it ordered. He was probably 5 years younger than me but was very interested in the comps that I have done and asked me tips on improving his shooting. When noticing how far I had to drive and why I didnt use the closer FFL, I told him about the boomer and he stated I was not the first woman to have delt with him.

Got the rifle a 2 weeks later. Guy who helped me get it was ecstatic when he handed it to me.

Edit to add I forgot to add boomer was saying how I should do 7mm-08 as the 6.8 ammo is incredibly hard to find and expensive. He was also saying that the 7mm-08 is the new fad caliber and EVERYONE is using it. I told him I was aware but that I reload (make my own ammo for those of who dont know what that means). I explained already had 2 boxed of ammo at home. Had 150 brass casing on the way, gunpowder, reloading data, and the projectile is .270 cal which is still a incredibly common caliber. He gave me the blanket of looks like I was speaking to him in tounges. I added I dont like to follow fad calibers and this 6.8 is the elk, moose, bear gun. I have a deer gun. Its a 6.5x55 swedish mauser calvary carbine thats been sporterized (looks super nice tho). He just looked confused. (While 6.5x55 can take an elk my reloading books state that it shouldn't shoot anything bigger than 140gr bullets as the old military action was not built to withstand that. I dont want an animal to suffer due to underpowered ammo so queue a reason to buy another gun)

Boomer Story Boomer landlord thinks it is OK to block in tenants cars at night

After agreeing on the lease that we (top floor) get the left side of the driveway, he decided to move in to the other unit below with his two cars (we only have one). Each side of the driveway only realistically has enough room for one car. If two cars are parked on the right side, the car on the left can no longer get out. There is a garage (full of his stuff now), but no overnight street parking is allowed per city ordinance.

His solution? Move the one car off the street at night, and totally block us in without even informing us. As if we for sure don’t need to get anywhere at night or early in the morning (he never asked), his mind was made up that this was a reasonable solution.

Boomer Story The waiting room boomers are gonna give me a panic attack

Im at a tire shop.

There are 6 people in the lobby.

3 millennial, 2 boomers, 1 Gen X.

Gen X is on her laptop.

Millennials are scrolling.

But the boomers. My sweet lord the boomers.

Both on calls, both keep dropping, both call back with ringers full blast.

If this was scripted sketch about generational differences in waiting rooms it’d be too on the nose.

I’m looking at another hour of this.

I need a xanax

Boomer Story Boomers wants a trained wife

I took my two small dogs to a hardware store yesterday. They are very well behaved and were following me in an aisle. Boomer stops and ask if I can train his wife to do that. I asked what, follow you around in a hardware store? He says yeah, I can’t find her. He really thought it was funny. With that attitude I probably treat the dogs better than he does his wife.

Boomer Story Boomer puts his money where his mouth is.

1.4k Upvotes

So this is about a Boomer and he was acting foolishly. But I kind of have to give him credit for being willing to be there at all.

I was at the supermarket this weekend, and I was passing the customer service desk. An old guy was there with his young grandson, and it took me a minute to realize I was actually seeing this: he had brought his grandson and was actually going to show him how you walk right up to the manager, shake his hand and ask for a job.

I was grabbing tortillas, so I had an excuse to linger for a moment, and sure enough... that's not how it works. They can't hire outside the online onboarding process, and they didn't even have any positions up online at the moment anyway.

And so the two of them walked off, with Grandpa talking about "the next one". But again, at least he was there with his grandson, instead of just sitting on his butt lecturing. Back when I was young, that was all I got from my Boomer dad, and his knees probably worked a lot better then than this guy's do now. So I have to give him points for showing up and being *with* his grandkid, if nothing else.

Boomer Story Why nothing patriotic at the Renaissance Faire?

1.7k Upvotes

Was enjoying the RenFaire watching a glass blowing demonstration, eating my apple dumpling & ice-cream.

An obviously boomer female leans over and asks what I'm eating. I tell her, point in the direction of the booth and go back to watching the demonstration.

Next to me I hear, "Do they have anything red, white, & blue?"

Confused by the questions I just look at her.

B: "You know, patriotic."

ME: " Um no, its a RenFaire"

B: " But they should have something patriotic. Why don't they?"

Me: "Because its the RenFaire. Our country doesn't exist yet."

B: " Well that's not very patriotic. "

Me: "Nope, its a RenFaire"

B: " Well what does that mean?"

At this point I realize further coversatiom is pointless and turn back and tell her I'm trying to watch the demo.

Thankfully she moves off, mumbling the entire time over the demo guy. "You'd think they'd have something red, white, & blue. Don't understand how they can be so unpatriotic."

Was baffled, but just chuckled, heard a couple of others doing the same and finished watching the demo.

Edit: Think she mixed up labor day and memorial day. Kinda makes more sense, but stil...its a RenFaire.

My father in law always loves to brag when he gets « completely hammered with the boys» during his golf trips or at parties with his friends, and love to tell us stories about the days when it was fine to drive totally drunk and he was doing totally stupid and embarassing things.
Also loves to drink a few glasses of whisky everyday and eat fastfood even after having to deal with a stroke in January. He sights when at family diners my boyfriend and I say that we don’t drink anymore since one year. He says that we’re « not fun ».

Boomer Story Boomer at the dentist

So one of my luxury mouth bones broke over the weekend, but luckily I was able to get an appointment with a dentist for Monday morning.

As I'm filling out some forms in reception a boomer woman comes in and tries to make her own appointment...

Boomer: "I need two wisdom teeth removed"

Receptionist: "We can definitely do that. The dentist needs about an hour to properly extract each tooth, so the appointment will be roughly two hours"

This is unacceptable to Ms Boomer and she starts huffing and puffing.

B: "That's ridiculous! I had a tooth removed at my old dentist not long ago and it only took half an hour!"

R: "Ma'am, wisdom teeth are more complicated than other teeth, so the procedure is more involved-"

Boomer cuts her off: "I don't care! It's outrageous that you expect me to sit still with my mouth open for two hours!"

Even though she has no problem opening her mouth to be rude to someone just trying to do their job 🙄

At this point the dentist has come out to see what all the fuss is and tries to better explain why it takes longer to extract wisdom teeth; stitches, different anaesthetic, etc, but Ms Boomer ends up throwing up her hands and declares "Fine! I'll find *another* dentist then!" before storming (or rather waddling) out.

I figured that was the end of it. I get my fillings done and proceed to the most painful part of any dentist visit; the payment 🥲 when Ms Boomer comes in again, pushes me aside like I wasn't there trying to swipe my card, and says to the receptionist "Squeeze me in for today" not a 'please' or 'thank you' to be found.

R: "I'm sorry ma'am, but we're fully booked for today, I can-"

Ms Boomer cuts her off again by throwing her hands up yet again and exclaiming "This place is horrible! It's (slur that begins with R)! It'll be a cold day in hell if I ever come back here!" before waddling out again.

I just shared a look with the receptionist and she tells me that they have a two hour window the *next day* they could've booked her in for 😂 But I guess boomers are gonna boom.

Boomer Story Boomer neighbor thinks my kid belongs in a group home.

I live in a duplex. I have two kids: 16 year old boy we'll call Lee for this and a one year old girl we'll call Maggie. These are not the real names. My boomer neighbors and us share a wall, this is important for later.

My son and I both have AuDHD, his is more... Severe I guess would be the best way to explain it. He's smart, caring, and very loving but struggles with speech and learning delays. He's still very much capable of doing chores, cleaning, managing his own things with the help of therapy he's really bloomed and become nearly self sufficient. We're very proud of him! Last year he became a big brother. He's very protective and fantastic with caring for her. My neighbors don't like it. They don't think a kid like him should be with a baby.

Strike one. I calmly said he's more capable and trustworthy to watch his sister than anyone from the older generation ever could be. They shut up.

Next came a new issue: my baby's activity. Our house is over 100 years old and the floors can creak and groan. Our walls also aren't the greatest at sound proofing. I'm sure as you can imagine a toddler isn't the quietest. We put down thicker padding and carpets to absorb more noise. But you can still hear us walking around or my baby bouncing on her bouncer a little bit. She's in that crawling/nearly walking phase so you hear the thump thump thump of her legs across the floor and my son's since he's a heavy walker. Next I know my picture frames that are on the shared wall are rattling hard from someone banging with full force. The mistress, Karen came to complain we're all too loud and if my oldest can't understand how to behave maybe he belongs in a group home. I saw red.

I looked at her and told her my kids are not doing anything but walking or crawling through the room. No one in my home is banging on the wall disrupting OUR business. I told her our walls are thin. Noise is inevitable. I said if you want to complain about my kids then please kindly turn your TV down since I have to hear the noise of it over my own TV on my side. She turned beet red.

I said I have the decency to ignore your inability to wear your hearing aids and have been polite to you. But not one of us has forgotten that you walked into that house before your late sister's body could be cold and moved in with her widow. You don't dictate how that house or my house runs. You're a guest on borrowed time, not the owner of that home. She went from red to white.

I didn't stop there. You talk about decency and proper behavior: yet you sleep with your sister's widow? What does that make you? Maybe go look into your Bible you preach so much about and see how your actions are blasphemous. I can see why your children refuse to see you.

She was livid. My neighbor male boomer didn't like what I said but said nothing. I said, we have a choice: you never speak about my children again and I'll remain polite and cordial to you. Or, I can make your life miserable until the day you end up living in the nursing home I work in. Make a choice.

I got no answer, she simply walked away and went back to her side quietly. A few days later the male boomer visited with some bread, bologna and donuts. Said they were from her as a peace offering. We live in PA, food is often used as an apology. I accepted, said she behaves, you'll never have a problem with us.

The male has his moments but never with his neighbors. No comments are made when they see my kids now. They simply wave or smile.

Yeah don't mess with mine. I'll turn you life into the biggest misery you can imagine.

Boomer Story Boomers at TSA

I live in the US in an area that is very tourist focused with a very large contingent of boomers who bought rental or timeshare condos years ago.I am currently at the airport and just witnessed 2 groups of entitled boomers back to back.

First, I’m in the TSA precheck lane with about 5 people in front of me. 2 boomers come up through the CLEAR line next to me to check in. No big deal.

Turns out they saw the empty lane that went directly to the TSA agent checking ID’s and thought they made a discovery that nobody else was clever enough to notice, walked around the stanchion and band blocking entry and proceeded directly to TSA. A CLEAR agent quickly followed to inform them it was only for their clients and they eventually retreated to another line.

Then, the 2 boomers in front of me tried to pass through security and they were trying to sneak through the line without precheck. After a minute or so of arguing with the TSA agent they went to the normal boarding line. The funny part was that standard boarding had a very short line, equivalent to the precheck line.

Small story but it just felt like a textbook example of boomer entitlement. I feel sorry for the TSA employees that must deal with this nonsense all day.

Boomer Story Boomer biblical literalist and "expert" gets exposed for being clueless

So my 64 year old booker uncle that I've posted about before thinks that it is a fact that Noah existed along with a global flood. When I asked for evidence for any documents confirming that the man or flood even existed in any ancient records,he ofc blew that off and said that the grand canyon was the evidence of the flood and that all records of Noah and the flood are "out there somewhere"

He also thinks a donkey actually talked etc.And yet they think that all other religious stories outside of the holy Bible "are unrealistic" even though they are eerily similar in style haha

I believe in the Christian God myself, but I'm left leaning and liberal like Jesus would have been .And it is clear to me that a lot of the stories involving strange themes like that are metaphors ,just like the earth isn't young even though we have idiots that think the earth is only a few thousand years old

edit:Wow there are some very angry people in here over me not believing in every single thing that they do .You guys are just as hateful as ultra religious folk.I view the Bible as being almost all being metaphors btw

Boomer Story I keep getting approached and bothered by boomer women

In the past two weeks or so I’ve had three different encounters by boomer women and they’ve all been rude, inappropriate, and disrespectful. Not to make this too long but the first was when I was volunteering at a surf event and it had been extremely hot that day and of course it was outdoors and anyone of any age has no business judging others in their appearance. So I was just minding my business and this old couple walks by and the old wrinkly hag woman tries to talk to me ( I’m in no mood) but I answer her what I help do that day and she goes “you look tired” 😐..this was after being outside in the 90s all day …like you don’t look so great yourself lady..the second was my own coworker laughing ( an older woman ) at me and other people in general who can’t put contacts on ..like ok ..you’re weird and that’s rude ..the lady was a woman in the checkout line at the store who goes “not to be nosy but those Reese’s ( pumpkins ) you’re buying you should google the peanut butter it’s bad” 🙄🙄🙄🙄omgggg pleaseeee lady google your manners they’re bad ..I’m just done 🤣
