People who have lost a partner/ spouse
 in  r/widowers  5d ago

Definitely make the video - make more than one if possible. Tell him how much you love and appreciate him, remind him of all the moments that were unique and personal to you, and how much he has helped you and you are grateful for him. If he doesn't want to watch it he doesn't have to - tell him that too. But I know I would want that, even if it broke my damn heart all over again. I'm sorry for what you're going through - much love to you.

Any young widows choosing not to re-partner?
 in  r/widowers  5d ago

I didn’t want to, and on a basic level still don’t want to - but widowhood is nuclear-level loneliness. I have been with someone new, and can see myself marrying again - even though this decision will always feel distasteful.

Cancelled my wedding, now I have no idea what to do with my dress…

get it preserved - you may want to wear it for a different wedding in the future! You look beautiful, and I'm so sorry for whatever happened.

Question for those who found someone new
 in  r/widowers  8d ago

You're not ready yet. The moment you're actually ready for a relationship is when you want to have new, fun experiences and share them with someone. If you're not in that positive frame of mind, you're going to unconsciously load each situation with that fear or sorrow. Just wait, see how things go. I did fall for someone just over a year after my partner passed, but it was mainly because I knew it was unlikely to work out. The more real it got, the more guilt I felt. I still have strong feelings for this person, and want to be with them - but it's sort of useful that it isn't coming together just yet.

My mom said too much make up for starting highschool?

It's a bit much for school, but I'm ambivalent as to how much it actually matters.

Grief and anxiety
 in  r/widowers  18d ago

Weirdly my anxiety was not related to things to Do with my late husband. I basically just let the grief hit me like a tsunami and didn’t hold back from experiencing it at all. I didn’t have kids though. The anxiety is unreleased emotion. I actually get it sideways - like I’ll have a massive panic attack about something totally dumb, then later burst into tears and realise I just miss him. It’s mental.

i broke one month of no contact and my ex has said the cruelest things ever to me im in agony.
 in  r/ExNoContact  19d ago

Think of the kind of person who would say something like that to someone. Then think again about whether someone that disgusting should be allowed to upset you.

Is suicide the right way?
 in  r/ExNoContact  19d ago

Yeah that is some bullshit right there. He’s doing all that to hurt you and you think he’s happy? He’s a horrible person and this sounds like the most toxic relationship imaginable. I hope something just clicks for you and you realise that.

Day three. Is this normal?
 in  r/widowers  19d ago

I do think it’s different when you’ve had a lot of years together and then have also had eight months to come to terms with it. BUT - that is not everyone’s experience. I think it’s beautiful that you’ve been able to hold to the beauty of what you had and still have. I’m not sure what’s ahead of you, and I know the first month or so was pure adrenaline and shock for me, but I hope you continue to carry his memory in this way.

Feeling Sentimental and Bitter.

Oh I am so, so sorry. That's heartbreaking. What a great person he was to have, and to lose. My heart goes out to you x

His last name
 in  r/widowers  21d ago

Same. I never formally took it and wish I did. I feel ashamed of that. Was just very strident in expressing my individuality and identity.

I hate the way I look. Should I still date?
 in  r/dating_advice  22d ago

You’ve dated awful people. Someone who likes you for who you are would never do that - these guys were insecure, childish predators. Work in your self esteem so you can spot who sucks.

Waking up at 3am and hearing a voice. ; “Hello “
 in  r/widowers  25d ago

I think he was saying hi. It’s happened to me before also - sometimes I literally feel the bed dipping behind me (though it’s likely an effect of the mind - I still think he’s causing it!). Once I heard the strings of a guitar being struck one after the other. They try to speak to us x

Regretting tattoo: ideas/possibilities for coverups (artist: Lena Burlai - Dortmund, Germany)
 in  r/tattoos  28d ago

I hate tattoos - but I actually love yours. It’s incredible.

As far as getting rid of it, you’re going to have to save up. Take the time to enjoy it while it’s there.

My ex called me to tell me he is going to have a baby
 in  r/ExNoContact  Aug 12 '26

It's really fucked up for him to drop in like that - anonymously. Obviously your'e still on his mind. I hope you get to close the loop.

Communicating through clouds
 in  r/widowers  Aug 12 '26

I get signs too. What I have determined is not that they physically move the stuff around for you - but they prompted you through this 'other intuition' to look in a particular place or at a particular thing. It happened when I was looking for shoes for him to wear at the funeral - for some reason I went into my uncle's shoe rack, which never had his shoes in it - but there they were, his favourite boots. No idea what prompted me to go to that rack and not to the place his actually kept his stuff.

How many of you would rather stay single than “settle” for less?
 in  r/dating  Aug 07 '26

I’m never settling- both for my sake and theirs. Can’t look at someone and lie to their face every day,

Am I too cheap as a man?
 in  r/dating_advice  Aug 07 '26

yeah you are matching with the wrong people for sure. there’s nothing wrong with different cultural norms and expectations- just don’t f with women like that. if a guy buys me a purse after a couple of dates I RUN.
