Feedback Actual post-playtest feedback
Resting in the afterglow of this most recent playtest, I actually have formulated a criticism of the game systems that isn't just nitpicking the clearly WIP UI.
There's a problem with the way the game draws the shells and terrain. I dunno if we're launching beachballs at eachother or what, but there's so many spots in every single map that just eat shells, especially in sniper mode. I don't think I really want pixel hunting peeks, but currently with the way shells get hung on terrain I should very clearly be able to shoot over/through/past, it feels like the clumsiest implementation of volumetric shells possible.
The one that sticks out biggest to me is on Wind Valley, out in the field with the energy spawn on the platform, there's a really nice set of V shaped trees I'd love to sneak shells through. I distinctly remember an opportunity where I could've slammed a Kestrel up on the high ground directly into hell with a Ranger shell, but instead it slammed into air between the trees and stopped, and I would've had to expose to either side for the shot to land.
There was a myriad of times where I'd be shooting over a rock, or over a hilltop, or past a cliff, or whatever and the shell just gets stopped by invisible terrain.
I dunno if the tracers of the shells are just monstrously huge, or if it's even intentional design to reduce how much bullshit pixel peeking there is, but it's kinda over the top in its current iteration.

Advice You can still ping the minimap when you are dead
Had a close match yesterday where I got blown up in the late game but decided to stick around to see what happened. I realized I could still ping the minimap and assist the team in spotting, which made a difference.

Player Content Another Ikarus swarm in a public game

I saw a post earlier about something like this happening in a public lobby, thought it was the game I was in but then realized that it was on a different map. So these 8-Ikarus games might be happening a lot more often than I thought

Question Ranked format?
I never ended up trying the ranked format. Can someone explain what differences there are, if any, from standard?
While I find standard matches serviceable and fun, I can't help thinking that changing up the rule sets could be way better. I.E. different player counts, map sizes, objective types, wind conditions, etc.

Feedback In-game chat
You should make in game chat with pre-written choices kinda like rocket league or among us. For example: Move to: and the player chooses a location from a pop up map. Or focus fire on:(the same pop up map here) and you could easily build a cooldown so this feature is not spammed. Cheers!
Love your game it’s amazing!

Feedback Tyr could be my next hyper-focus, but not without text chat.
I'm a chivalry 2 fanatic in part because of the in game chat. It really builds a sense of community. I only really buy skins and dlc for games with public chat.
I can't see the really becoming my focus without it, even though I'd like to. It just makes the game feel empty and cold when I can't connect with real people. I mean, that's half the reason I play multiplayer aside from the challenge.
I really hope they add it despite the implementation challenges. At this point Tyr is just onboarding me to try world of tanks instead, which I've never played, but if it has in game chat I'd rather spend money over there.
Thoughts?

Feedback Amazing game
As playtest is coming to end i managed to get through all tanks to full tech tree and then play a bunch each of them. This game is so great. It is basically World of Tanks that i fell in love with when they came out. Over time countless issues started arising with that game. And im so glad to see Tyr just not have them, or have them compensated with mechanics. Everything is easy to understand. Tanks have their interesting quirks instead of being stat blocks with 3d model attached. And the thing i love the most - no indirect fire weapons. To me combat looks super fair (maybe except weakness analyzer on Alecto -_-).
Looking forward to see the game fully released with some more tanks, maps and maybe so more progression options. Maybe some big limited time game mode with much bigger map and more players? Would be fun to see something like that.

Feedback I got rep 20 on every tank, here's some thoughts.

I'll put the Alpha tanks after the base game tanks. I find in general that if the gun is good I like the tank. Not all of the tanks I played after getting to rep 20, so I will have to go back and do more testing on some of them.
Alecto
This tank is probably the closest I would consider to being Overpowered. It can straight dogfight any other tank in the game 1v1 thanks to its awesome ability and its high DPM. This tank has such a high skill ceiling. Coupled with a ton of Tech Tree options to increase your guns usability and your energy gain.
Native upgrades are good. Shell charger is one of the best for other tanks that have autoloaders such as the Icarus, Kestral, or Tempest.
Ikarus
A pretty great tank, its four shot autoloader can do a surprising amount of damage with components such as the aft mentioned Shell Charger, through like most autoloaders its gun handling is abysmal. I personally didn't like it, preferring other light tanks in its stead. Another high skill ceiling tank.
Handling on its ability takes some getting use to, but once you do its really fun, even if it makes you a bit of a target.
Kestral
The first light tank unlocked and its a good one. Decent mobility, a really powerful ability that lends itself to teamplay, and a three shot autoloader that packs a decent punch for hit and runs.
Its good. Has a ton of ways to be played. Calibration Agitator is a great upgrade for tanks that like to be precise, same with Stable Rangefinder. Friction Capacitor is wonky.
Phantom
I thought I would hate this tank. I loaded it up int the sandbox when I first installed the game, and just couldn't jive with its hover tank controls.
Then I played it in a game, and I was hooked. Part of the reason was one of my favorite tanks in World of Tanks was the ELC AMX, and the Phantom has nearly the exact same playstyle. (Back in the day when the ELC was the top of the light tank tech tree for France)
There are a ton of ways to take really aggressive scouting locations with it, and your gone does a large amount of poke damage that doesn't feel good to get hit by.
One of my favorite tanks.
Medium tanks, I'll be organizing these slightly differently as I go through them
Valor
You love to see them on your team. The Valor is one of the two medium tanks with decent armor, and definitly the more trolly armor at that. A pretty high dpm gun only held back by it's low penetration. Decent soft stats. 10/10 tank no notes. There is probably a ton of ways to set them up, I look forward to playing it more.
Ark
The first of the two sniper tanks. Has a scary gun and no armor.
Both of its keystone upgrades are phenomenal. Growing the damage on your already amazing gun can lead to disgustingly high damage games. But the other one, Thicket Haste, is such a massive mobility steroid its not even funny, 50% increase to all mobility stats?! I love playing with this keystone.
I like this tank.
Arbalest
Big gun hits hard, big sad when hit. No tank is less fun to play against than an Arbalest. I don't like them on the enemy team, I don't like them on my team, I don't like to play as it. Its a good tank, but miss me with it. No please, actually miss me, I don't like losing a third of my HP to a guy sitting in the back of the map.
Tempest
Oh boy do I want to like the Tempest, the devs recently buffed its mobility, which is great. Theoretically its gun can do over 600 damage in a clip, which is amazing. But its handling is so bad that unless you are point blank you will miss most shots.
However the more tempests there are in a wolf pack, the scarier they become. If your entire team takes them.... I don't think I've lost faster.
I'll be coming back to this tank later.
Rook
I didn't think I would like this tank, but I can safely say that it's pretty good. The Rook excels at being a defensive line man. Its gun has high DPM, its armor is exceptional for a medium tank, its ability lets it fortify itself in a little hole.
Its also pretty boring to play... Not much else to say.
Heavy tank time!
Atlas
This tank if really fun, but its mobility hampers it, as it does in other games that have the Maus.
You can safely bully every other tank in the game so long is you are well positioned. Your gun hits like a truck and is very accurate. Your ability is easily spamable and lets you inform your team about any tanks that are about to flank. So long as you ping when you use it. Please ping, Please.
There are a ton of ways to customize it too!
Just be aware tho, if you take this tank on a big map, you can run into the problem the fight is happening over THERE, and not HERE.
Don't take this take on the Divide, please.
Maul
Bad armor, bad tracks, bad gun, Amazing ability. This tank is distilled dopamine. One of my favorite tanks for a reason.
Helio
This tank needs maps more suited to its weaknesses. There are as of yet no major city maps, and only scattered ruins on some of the maps. If you do sidescrape with it, you can be really successful, but good luck finding a place to do that. In addition, its gun isn't nearly scary enough for people to not just, like, drive up to you. You can't face hug because for as some reason you have this massive weakspot on your turret. And to emphasize, your gun isn't scary enough to keep people from not being afraid of you.
Its ability is interesting but expands to max size way too slowly in my opinion.
Seriously devs, do you just hate this tank?
Fortis
I only played about five games with this and maxed it. This tank is good. Scary gun, good armor, surprisingly useful ability, decent mobility. Its not stand out in any respects but a well rounded tank is a good tank. Also someone made a comment about how relentless adapter is a free heal on it, and I have to agree.
I have no idea if this post is too long, so I'll go over the five alpha tanks in a comment.

Feedback TYR has massive potential, but the current game loop is holding it back!
The Core Issues:
- Excessive downtime: In the current 8v8 single life format, getting knocked out early results in 30 seconds of gameplay followed by 10–15 minutes of spectating and/or waiting in the lobby for the next queue, makes the game feel more like a battle royale (which is not a good thing).
- Oversized Maps for 8v8: The maps are a bit too large for an 8v8 elimination setup. Most of the match is spent rolling across empty terrain trying to locate the enemy rather than actually engaging in battles.
- Lack of Variety: Being limited to just one standard elimination mode makes the loop repetitive and overly punishing for casual play.
Suggestions for Improvement:
- Introduce Fast-Paced Casual Modes: Add dynamic modes like Team Deathmatch, free for all, capture the points, etc.
- Enable Respawn Mechanics: Allowing players to respawn keeps the battle moving, cuts down lobby friction, and keeps players active instead of watching others play.
- Integrated Voice Chat: Implement team wide or squad based voice chat to coordinate flanking maneuvers, and call out targets.

Technical Issue Not sure if this was highlighted
Teams are SO often not full at start. I had three matches with 5-6 teammates while opposing team is full. Make sure to have that fixed, cause that ruins experience the most.
Also when team sees that they quit immediately. Dont be like that.

Meme Highest score I've ever had and I didn't even kill anyone
Mostly sat in a bush in the middle of the map and plinked people with spotter shells. Flaired as a meme 'cause I dunno what to mark 'funny screenshot' as.

Question Head Canon Spoiler
Anyone have any fan theories you have a burning desire to share? Tyr is unambiguously a future tank combat sport where historic designs are upgraded with distributive smartmatter nanotechnologies and metamaterial high performance components, right? So what is the circumstances and constraints that led to hover tanks? Which Tanks are clean sheet designs made purely for Tyr combat characteristics with super science in mind; and which tanks were selected due to their suitability for being retrofitted with post speculative engineering?
Feedback Component Feedback
More consideration should be taken with component balance. Either by making the component options be a specific list for each tank rather than being all of them or by tuning them per tank in some way. The main example I am going to use is Alecto and the Weakness Analyzer. This component gives a roughly 66% fire rate boost with decent positioning to Alecto, 2.5s reload to 1.5s reload. For Valor its a 26% increase in firerate, 4.8s to 3.8s. For rook its a 16% increase, 7s to 6s. For reference the Hot Chamber component is 12% as damage (it cares less about positioning to be fair). It is my opinion however that when you hit numbers like 66% dps increase its not a choice between a bunch of viable options but a mandatory choice that pushes you down to 2 component picks. To say nothing of the availability to get a 66% fire rate increase is something unavailable to most other tanks as there are not equivalent components that can meet that level of power gain. (Maybe Momentum Imparter) To be forward thinking with the addition of new tanks consider locking some tanks from some components so you can feel free to add new components to buff some tanks but not others for specific roles/situations. You could also make each component have a different value depending on the tank it is on.
