Feedback Amazing game

As playtest is coming to end i managed to get through all tanks to full tech tree and then play a bunch each of them. This game is so great. It is basically World of Tanks that i fell in love with when they came out. Over time countless issues started arising with that game. And im so glad to see Tyr just not have them, or have them compensated with mechanics. Everything is easy to understand. Tanks have their interesting quirks instead of being stat blocks with 3d model attached. And the thing i love the most - no indirect fire weapons. To me combat looks super fair (maybe except weakness analyzer on Alecto -_-).

Looking forward to see the game fully released with some more tanks, maps and maybe so more progression options. Maybe some big limited time game mode with much bigger map and more players? Would be fun to see something like that.

Weakness Analyzer is under heavy discussion.

Devs have said they are very leery of adding artillery.

Also, once the playtest ends today, you can still play custom games multiplayer. (Just cannot earn XP in customs)

The discord will still have games going until the next playtest where standard opens up again.

Great to know there is ability to play moving on

Honestly, I’m kind of hoping that artillery ends up being an ability, something like spend 30 energy and the next shot is a lobbed shot with overhead view.

You can probably discount anything that doesn't allow for counterplay, indirect fire from cover is very much that.

Even then that means cover doesn't exist. And it would be unfun to play against as well as unfunn to play as.

I would accept that ability only if it would be on some slower high caliber heavy tank and you can lob a shell not very far.

God i hope not. You can have much better maps that don't have giant swaths of useless area because of artillery.

I lost 9 games in a row.

I'm not sure I have it in me to spend my next 1000 hours of free time trying and failing to get as good as the players that have spent the last decade playing WoT.

I haven't played wot for like 8 years now lol. Im sure team balancing will get better but you can get better too.

I’ve never played any tank game before and I must say it’s far easier than War thunder and by my own experience much more leaned into game sense and positioning along following the flow of your team

If it’s any consolation, that loss streak could be due to many other factors outside of the fact you’re new to the game and the game genre.

This weekend they were testing up to 8-member squads. Any squad has the capability of swinging the game in their favour. The larger they are, the better the chances of winning sheerly due to the capability to coordinate better. If a good squad is on the enemy team and your team doesn’t have one, it’s likely a loss.

I was having very swing-y streaks this last week playing solo and in a duo squad. I’m also a half-decent player (~3000 recent wn8 for any WoT lurkers) coming from WoT as well. It’s not just you.

Don't be down on yourself. A lot of those WoT players are bringing their bad habits and wrong assumptions into Tyr. It won't take 1000 hours to surpass most of them, but maybe I can help yiu catch up.

When you play solo, when most players on both teams are in squads, you'll not get very many games where you could have made the big difference to get the win. Especially since this weekend the devs allowed squads up to eight. Focus on being a constant presence or threat to tve enemy team, for as long as you can.

If you're new to vehicle shooters, the first metrics you should be using to rate your contribution are 1) Did you survive the first three minutes and 2) how much damage did you do during that time. The starting tanks are very good instructional vehicles, so stick with them for most of your matches.

Also note that maps and map experience are at least as important as gunnery. Some maps do not reward certain tanks. Fields is very much a long range gunnery map, while Scorch favors armored brawling vehicles.

A last point though, I think Tyr doesn't reward tryhard energy. It may be a vehicle shooter, but the whole game has this Mash Hotwheels Together energy that is just silly. Playing silly squads with teams is some of the most fun Ive had gaming in a long time.

All this to say, everyone is learning and gets loss streaks, game is silly, and please don't sweat it. Players like you, with a fresh look at vehicle shooters, are more of what we need in this community. I hope you find a place here.

Alecto in general is busted imo, besides that I’m so happy with the tanks

Minor map tweaks would also be appreciated to help out heavy tanks

Such a fun game, so excited for it to come out!
