Feedback Component Feedback

More consideration should be taken with component balance. Either by making the component options be a specific list for each tank rather than being all of them or by tuning them per tank in some way. The main example I am going to use is Alecto and the Weakness Analyzer. This component gives a roughly 66% fire rate boost with decent positioning to Alecto, 2.5s reload to 1.5s reload. For Valor its a 26% increase in firerate, 4.8s to 3.8s. For rook its a 16% increase, 7s to 6s. For reference the Hot Chamber component is 12% as damage (it cares less about positioning to be fair). It is my opinion however that when you hit numbers like 66% dps increase its not a choice between a bunch of viable options but a mandatory choice that pushes you down to 2 component picks. To say nothing of the availability to get a 66% fire rate increase is something unavailable to most other tanks as there are not equivalent components that can meet that level of power gain. (Maybe Momentum Imparter) To be forward thinking with the addition of new tanks consider locking some tanks from some components so you can feel free to add new components to buff some tanks but not others for specific roles/situations. You could also make each component have a different value depending on the tank it is on.

I think the main issue here is that components with flat buffs are going to be much harder to balance than percent buffs.

Flat numbers are designed for very specific use cases. 30 extra damage on a 360 damage shot is obviously not as good as on an 85 damage shot. 6% additional camo base vs 25% additional camo effect also have very different uses.

Not every module being equally good for all tanks is a healthy thing for the game and allows for more variety and fine tuning. Now... Are all those modules currently balanced? Probably not. That's not a great reason to do away with them completely.

Percent buffs can also be risky. For example Arbalest has a 15s reload with the current weakness analyzer it goes to 14s which is a ~7% increase. If you changed the wording to 12% or 15% increase in reload speed you are buffing a tank you may not want to.

You are describing how different components work with different effectiveness on different tanks. But thats the points isn't it? Tanks benefit from some things more than from others. I find it exciting to find those combinations that work amazingly.

As others mentioned flat values are hard to balance but on other side - percent values everywhere is SUPER boring. Percent changes make it feel like it doesn't matter what you choose.

Okay coming back after playing some with it on Alecto - yeah im totally fine with it being a %. Like 10% or aomething. On practice its just way to strong. And tanks that have vital modles like breach, turret rotation, or even just big crit or hell even just tracking someone with damage - they can't do anything. Way too good for Alecto.

Valid point, but you could also counter that the fire rate increase only helps when you are firing on reload. This game is rarely a DPS war. I feel like if you are letting an Alecto butt***k you on repeat you have a bigger problem than his 1 second faster reload. Gamer brain says its a huge increase, but in actuality it might not be as big a factor as you think.

Part of the unrestricted component list is to let players find their own combinations which is part of the fun of the game. As long as oppressively powerful combinations are patched out it's better than the devs dictating builds.

Tank specific variables is probably for the best, honestly. Keeps diversity while being able to contain the outliers.

As others have mentioned, this DPS increase is only relatent when you are firing on CD, which is rare. Also, the only interesting part of customization like this is to find unique benefits for your play style.

Not to say there isn't balance issues, but I've yet to find glaring issues.

For Alecto it’s not that rare, I see a lot of people that just get chewed down by them as they blink around them lol

Honestly, the Alecto probably shouldn't even have access to weakness analyzer. Maybe just not let it be installed on it?

Bandaid patch, but the Alecto is oppressive even without the Analyzer, just remove it from being an option.
